The method may be further comprise receiving content-retrieving information from a second user, searching contents to identify a candidate for the second user's consumption, receiving a selection of a content from the candidate, tracking a position of the content that is selected and being consumed by the second user, launching the reactive module on a second client device based on input from the second user. Methods, systems, and media for facilitating interaction between viewers of a stream of content are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving a request to begin presenting a stream of content, wherein the stream of content corresponds to a collection of videos presented sequentially; identifying a counter value associated with a duration of time elapsed since a creator of the stream of content initiated presentation of the stream of content; determining a playback position of the stream of content based on the counter value; causing the stream of content to be presented at the determined playback position; receiving an input to display a chat interface; and causing the chat interface to be presented in connection with the presentation of the stream of content, wherein the chat interface includes messages transmitted from a plurality of user devices that are also presenting the stream of content.

A fantasy sports interleaver may include a video segmenting device to create a plurality of video clips, a clip annotator to associate each of the plurality of video clips with at least one of achievement of an athlete, and an interleaver to associate and transmit at least some of the plurality of video clips to each of a plurality of users. The interleaver may interface with a fantasy sports platform hosting the fantasy team of the user, as well as incoming audio/video feeds from content providers, and content feeds from advertisers. In an “active bench” fantasy environment, users frequently move athletes of the user's fantasy team between “bench” and “field” to take advantage of a constantly evolving situation on actual fields of play. A user interfaces allows fantasy team control, provides updated video clips indicating potential opportunities, and updated rosters indicating whether athletes in non-fantasy games are benched or fielded.

In one example, a device includes one or more processors implemented in circuitry and configured to execute a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) aware application (DAA) and a DASH client, and one or more user interfaces. The DAA subscribes to DASH events of a DASH event stream via a first application programming interface (API) between the DAA and a DASH client executed by the one or more processors. The DAA then receives data for one or more DASH events of the DASH event stream from the DASH client via a second API between the DAA and the DASH client, the data for the one or more DASH events specifying interactivity-related content. The DAA then presents the interactivity-related content via the one or more user interfaces. The DAA may further send usage measurements on usage of the interactivity-related content to the DASH client, for reporting to a report server device.

Systems and methods are configured to provide alternate content during video streaming. Content made up of a plurality of blocks is streamed over a first video stream to a user computing device via a first URI. While streaming, a determination is made that alternate content is available. In response, a signaling mechanism is provided indicating such and a request for the alternate content is received. As a result, a particular block that is currently being provided over the first video stream is suspended and the alternate content is streamed to the user computing entity over a second video stream. Depending on the embodiment, the second video stream may be accessed by re-activating the first URI or by activating a second URI. Upon completion of the alternate content, the particular block that was suspended can be resumed to facilitate continued streaming of the content over the first or second video stream.

An electronic device for controlling the broadcasting of digital audio and/or video streams that includes: a module for receiving a list of upcoming streams able to be broadcast; a module for acquiring a set of profile(s) of a group of user(s); a module for detecting, among the received list and based on the acquired set, a preferred digital stream intended to be broadcast after a current digital stream; and a module for switching from a broadcast of the current stream to a broadcast of the preferred stream. The detection module is configured to detect an event triggering a switch to the preferred stream, and the switching module is configured to operate at least according to an automatic mode, where it is able to switch from the broadcasting of the current stream to that of the preferred stream upon the detection of the triggering event.
