Remote engagement system
10555047 · 2020-02-04 ·

A remote engagement system for a live event includes at least one output device located at the live event for providing an audio and/or visual output to people at the live event. A controller receives signals transmitted from a plurality of user input devices and in response thereto and in real time or near real time, controls the at least one output device located at the live event to provide an audio and/or visual output to people at the live event.

System for addressing on-demand TV program content on TV services platform of a digital TV services provider
10555014 · 2020-02-04 · ·

Video content is uploaded via the Internet to a video-on-demand (VOD) server identified by a title and a hierarchical address of categories and subcategories for categorizing the title. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular Hosts to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. The EPG can also store TV program addresses as bookmarks and allow them to be shared with other subscribers or with friends and contacts online by sending to their email addresses.

PROFILING MEDIA CHARACTERS
20200037036 · 2020-01-30 ·

Provided is a process of matching media characters, the process including: obtaining a plurality of character records, each character record including a trait vector specifying traits of the respective character; receiving a request from a user device to match characters in the character records, the request identifying at least one reference character record; calculating, with one or more processors, matching scores indicative of similarity between the trait vector of the reference character record and trait vectors of other character records among the plurality of character records; selecting a responsive character record from among the plurality of character records based on the matching scores; and sending instructions to the user device to display information about a character of the responsive character record.

Presented herein is an interactive platform for judging an activity by a participant in an event. The platform includes a client application program downloadable to a mobile device. The program may include a database storing a mobile device identifier (ID), a user ID, user information, and location data of the device. The application may further be configured to display one or more events of the activity as well as an input for receiving a score of the activity from the user. The platform may additionally include a server system connected with the client application programs via a communication network. The server system may be configured for receiving the mobile device ID, the user ID, the user information, and the location data for the client program, and may further be configured to receive the scores from the users, and to adjust the scores according to determined bias of the associated user.

DYNAMIC TOPOLOGY GENERATION FOR BRANCHING NARRATIVES

A playback application is configured to dynamically generate topology for an interactive media title. The playback application obtains an initial topology and also collects various data associated with a user interacting with the feature. The playback application then modifies the initial topology, based on the collected data, to generate a dynamic topology tailored to the user. The dynamic topology describes the set of choices available to the user during playback as well as which options can be selected by the user when making a given choice. In addition, the playback application also selectively buffers different portions of the interactive media title, based on the collected data, in anticipation of the user selecting particular options for available choices.

DEMAND BASED SELECTION FOR CELLULAR BROADCAST STREAMING MEDIA

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, determining available media content items and identifying a first number of wireless broadcast channels of a wireless network having a limited channel capacity and adapted to broadcast media content items within a coverage area. A demand for a group of media content items is identified, and media content items are selected according to the demand, wherein broadcasting of the selected media content items within the coverage area does not exceed the limited channel capacity. The selected media content items are assigned to a group of broadcast channels of the first number of wireless broadcast channels to obtain a broadcast channel assignment for the coverage area. The wireless network is configured to broadcast the selected media content items within the coverage area via wireless broadcast channels according to the broadcast channel assignment. Other embodiments are disclosed.

VIDEO MOTION AUGMENTATION

A system for providing video motion augmentation is disclosed. In particular, the system provides mechanisms for analyzing video content, metadata, or a combination thereof, to dynamically enhance and adapt regions of small movements or micro-movements in the video content based on a variety of inputs. The regions of small movements or micro-movements may be enhanced based on device characteristics associated with a device consuming the video content, based on a theme associated with the content, based on sensor data, based on user feedback, and based on a variety of other inputs. For example, motion content in the video content may be enhanced and emphasized based on the display resolution or other device characteristics of a device requesting the video content. Once the enhanced video content is generated based on the inputs, the enhanced content may be provided to the device requesting the content.

DIGITAL CONTENT PROCESSING AND GENERATION FOR A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT
20200022632 · 2020-01-23 ·

An artificial reality system and method provides immersive digital content to a user via a device with limited capabilities. A digital content processor generates a video stream of a real-world environment in a first video resolution regime. The digital content processor identifies static regions across frames of the video stream. The digital content processor applies one or more of a stitching operation, a blending operation, and a layering operation to replace static regions of the video stream with still image pixels. The digital content processor transmits the modified video stream to a display unit of a virtual reality (VR) device at a second video resolution regime of lower resolution than the first video resolution regime.

DYNAMIC DIGITAL CONTENT DELIVERY IN A VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT

An artificial reality system and method dynamically provides digital content to a user for treatment of a mental health condition. A digital content processor transmits digital content (e.g., a video stream) to a user. A state detection system monitors one or more states of the user as the user interacts with the digital content in a virtual environment. The digital content processor receives information from the state detection system and/or input from a clinician device about one or more states of the user, and generates a modified video stream based on the information and/or the inputs. The digital content processor transmits the modified video stream to a device associated with a virtual reality platform.
