METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING ENVIRONMENT SETTING INFORMATION OF DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes a display, and a processor configured to receive environment setting information that is used to view content currently being displayed on the display, acquire metadata associated with the content displayed on the display, and generate a user's viewing environment by mapping the metadata to the environment setting information.
Method and apparatus for modifying output characteristics of proximate devices
Systems and methods for reducing distractions from nearby devices when content susceptible to interruption is being consumed. Content susceptible to interruption is determined, and when this content is consumed on one device, nearby devices are identified and their output characteristics are modified. For example, output volume of nearby devices may be reduced, or the volume of the first device may be increased. This process is repeated with different devices as they each output content determined to be susceptible to interruption. Consumers are thus presented with fewer distractions from surrounding devices while they are consuming content that is susceptible to interruption.
METHOD FOR DISPLAY CONTROL AND DISPLAY DEVICE
The present application discloses a method for display control and a display device, including: detecting program information acquiring information of a currently displayed program; determining a children's program: identifying the children's program based on the program information; and controlling the displaying: if the program is not a children's program, displaying the program normally on a television, and if the program is a children's program, starting a preset protection mechanism.
Optimizing high dynamic range images for particular displays
To enable practical and quick generation of a family of good looking HDR gradings for various displays on which the HDR image may need to be shown, we describe color transformation apparatus (201) to calculate resultant colors (R2, G2, B2) of pixels of an output image (IM_MDR) for a display with a display peak brightness (PB_D) starting from input colors (R,G,B) of pixels of an input image (Im_in) having a maximum luma code corresponding to a first image peak brightness (PB_IM1) which is different from the display peak brightness, characterized in that the color transformation apparatus comprises: a color transformation determination unit (102) arranged to determine a color transformation (TMF; g) from color processing specification data (MET_1) comprising at least one tone mapping function (CC) for at least a range of pixel luminances received via a metadata input (116), which color transformation specifies the calculation of at least some pixel colors of an image (IM_GRAD_LXDR) having corresponding to its maximum luma code a second image peak brightness (PB_IM2), which is different from the display peak brightness (PB_D) and the first image peak brightness (PB_IM1), and whereby the division of the first image peak brightness by the second image peak brightness is either larger than 2 or smaller than ½; a scaling factor determination unit (200) arranged to determine a resultant common multiplicative factor (gt), by comprising: a capability metric determination unit (1303) arranged to determine a metric for locating positions of display peak brightnesses between the first image peak brightness (PB_IM1), and the second image peak brightness (PB_IM2) and outside that range; and a resultant multiplier determination unit (1310) arranged to determine from the display peak brightness (PB_D), the metric, and the color transformation the resultant common multiplicative factor (gt), and wherein the color transformation apparatus (201) further comprises a scaling multiplier (114) arranged to multiply a linear RGB color representation of the input colors with the resultant common multiplicative factor (gt).
DEVICE SETTING ADJUSTMENT BASED ON CONTENT RECOGNITION
Approaches provide for adjustment of playback settings on a user device based at least in part on a type of content being consumed via the user device. The content type may be determined based on a fingerprint acquired from the content presented via on the client device. The content type may be associated with one or more associated playback settings based on properties of the content type, which may be stored in a content profile. The playback settings may be provided to the user device to set or adjust one or more settings of the user device, as may relate to the presentation of the content.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONTENT OUTPUT ADJUSTMENT
Telemetry data gathered based on content item output/playback may be used to determine/generate adjustment data that may improve the output/playback experience for future content item output/playback. The adjustment data may cause output/playback adjustments at/by an output device (e.g., a content output device, a content/media player, a client device, a mobile device, a smart device, etc.) to mitigate and/or resolve any output/playback issues caused by one or more errors associated with the content item.
Controlling display device settings from a mobile device touch interface
System, method, and computer product embodiments for controlling a display device's display settings from a computing device's touch-based user interface are described. In an embodiment, the computing device establishes a wireless connectivity with the display device. The computing device sends a command generated to query information related to the display setting. Then, the computing device receives the queried information from the display device. The computing device configures a graphical user interface (GUI) with the queried information to display configurations of the display settings on the touchscreen. The configurations include the display settings currently configured in the display device. The computing device further enables, within GUI, a displayed configuration from the display configurations to be calibrated by one or more touch gestures on the touchscreen.
