SYSTEMS, APPARATUS, AND METHODS FOR SCALABLE LOW-LATENCY VIEWING OF INTEGRATED BROADCAST COMMENTARY AND EVENT VIDEO STREAMS OF LIVE EVENTS, AND SYNCHRONIZATION OF EVENT INFORMATION WITH VIEWED STREAMS VIA MULTIPLE INTERNET CHANNELS

A broadcaster device generates a live stream including video-based commentary regarding a live event combined with an audio and/or video feed of the live event itself. A viewer device receives a copy of the integrated live event and commentator stream and synchronized event information (e.g., real-time scores), and displays the integrated stream and the event information (e.g., as a “scorebug”). Viewers of a given live event may seamlessly select amongst different broadcasters for the same live event to access different integrated live event and commentator streams respectively synchronized with the event information. A social media platform is provided in tandem with live streaming of digital content relating to live events to allow a given broadcaster and their associated viewers to communicate with one another, comment on the event and/or the broadcaster's live stream, and send digital gifts.

A UHD display presents HD video in the native resolution of HD, leaving some portions of the UHD display unused for presenting the HD video. Ancillary information received, for example, in real time with the HD video or in parallel with the HD video over the Internet is presented in the unused portions of the UHD display along with the HD video.

Methods and systems for transmitting highlights of sporting events to communication devices
11601729 · 2023-03-07 ·

A highlight transmission service allows users of communication devices to view highlights of sporting events while the sporting events are occurring without having to watch the sporting events. For example, a computer-implemented method may comprise: determining that a highlight of a sporting event is to be conveyed to a communication device; and transmitting data regarding the highlight of the sporting event to the communication device over a network during the sporting event in order to allow a user of the communication device to view the highlight of the sporting event.

Method and apparatus for redirecting portions of content to alternate communication channels

Systems and methods for displaying primary content without any overlaid secondary content, and instead transmitting the secondary content to the viewer as a message through another communication channel. For example, a news banner is removed from display on a viewer's television, and the text of the news banner is encapsulated in a message sent to the viewer's primary social media account. In this manner, the viewer may watch the primary content uninterrupted by the secondary content, and is thus presented with fewer distractions and a potentially more enjoyable viewing experience.

DISPLAY METHOD AND APPARATUS

This disclosure describes techniques of display a multimedia resource. The techniques includes obtaining a multimedia resource and at least one bullet screen component associated with the multimedia resource; determining a relative position relationship between a play application and the at least one bullet screen component, and loading the at least one bullet screen component and the multimedia resource to the play application based at least in part on the relative position relationship; and displaying the multimedia resource and the bullet screen component through the play application.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR OPTIMIZING OVERLAY LOCATION OVER PROGRAMMING CONTENT
20170374431 · 2017-12-28 ·

A system is disclosed for providing a platform for optimizing overlay location over programming content that is distributed over a channel by a content provider and displayed on a display at an establishment, the system comprising one or more servers that communicates with a client over a network, each server including one or more processors, memory and one or more programs stored in the memory, the one or more programs comprising instructions for: generating an overlay with information in response to a request from a user via the client that communicates with the one or more servers over the network; and positioning the overlay over programming content from the content provider that is distributed over the channel and displayed on the display at the establishment, wherein the overlay is positioned over programming content so that the overlay does not interfere with one or more tickers transmitted by the content provider over the programming content.

VIDEO STREAMING CONTROL

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a media server having a processing system including a processor; and a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate sending a data stream to a display device. The data stream may include an identification thereof. Upon receiving the identification from a user, the media server associates the data stream with the user. The media server may send to the user, a listing of the media services to which the user has subscribed. Upon receiving, from the user, a selection of a selected media service, the media server streams the selected media service to the display device over the data stream. The data stream may be controlled with the user for as long as the media server detects the user in a vicinity of the display device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Hot video clip extraction method, user equipment, and server

A system including a server, a first terminal and a second terminal, where the server is configured to: send video content to the first terminal and the second terminal, respectively, where the video content includes a first hot clip and a second hot clip; send a first tag of the first hot clip to the first terminal; and send a second tag of the second hot clip to the second terminal; the first terminal is configured to display the first tag on a play time axis of the video content, where the first tag is located in a first location of the play time axis; and the second terminal is configured to display the second tag on the play time axis of the video content, where the second tag is located in a second location of the play time axis.

Concepts for providing an enhanced media presentation

Computer program products, methods, systems, apparatus, and computing entities are provided for providing an enhanced media presentation. In one embodiment, an enhanced media presentation is provided. To provide the enhanced media presentation, one or more content items associated with subject matter associated with a segment of an enhanced media presentation are identified. Each content item may be associated with at least one uniform resource identifier. Then, a content object based at least in part on at least one content item is created. The content object is an abstract representation of the content item. The content object can be associated with the segment and provided for simultaneous displayed simultaneously with at least a portion of the segment.
