Systems, methods, and devices of various embodiments enable signaling one or more capabilities of servers, such as web servers or content delivery network (CDN) servers, to use file version information, such as MD5s (message digest 5 (MD5) algorithm hash values) and/or entity tags (ETags), to computing devices for byte-range file repair.

Methods, systems and computer program products for managing a video streaming queue during a planned trip are provided. Aspects include receiving a list of content items from a user for viewing during the planned trip and receiving information regarding the planned trip. Aspects also include analyzing the content items to identify one or more properties of each of the content items in the list and determining a playback order for the content items in the list based on the one or more properties of each of the content items and the information regarding the planned trip.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a user device that attaches to a radio access network of a mobile network and requests services. The user device creates a virtual network function on the device to support the service. The virtual network function may include a user plane virtual network function, a control plane virtual network function, or both. Other embodiments are disclosed.

A mobile device includes a processor and a memory coupled to the processor. The memory includes instructions that are executable by the processor to perform operations including receiving, via a first network associated with a wireless service, an offer for a content item that is deliverable via a multimedia service. The operations also include sending information indicating acceptance of the offer via the wireless service to a server associated with the multimedia service. Based on the information indicating acceptance of the offer, the server sends the content item to a device associated with the multimedia service account.

In embodiments, the present invention provides a method and system for managing playback of content delivered to a mobile device with a pause and resume functionality. The method and system including receiving delivered content on a mobile device, initiating playback of the delivered content, pausing playback of the content being delivered to the mobile device in response to an action and resuming delivery of the content upon a request.

A method of and system for handling latency issues encountered in producing real-time entertainment such as games of skill synchronized with live or taped televised events is described herein. There are multiple situations that are dealt with regarding latencies in receiving a television signal with respect to real-time entertainment based on the unfolding games played along with the telecasts. Systemic delays, arbitrarily imposed delays of a broadcast signal and variances in the precise broadcast times of taped television programs have to be equalized so as to provide fair entertainment.

A device is provided that includes memory storing processor-executable instructions; and at least one processor in communication with the memory that executes the stored instructions to: receive, from at least one user on the vehicle, at least one request for data communication; identify a plurality of communication links available at a current location of the moving vehicle; form an adaptive bonded communication link using the plurality of communication links to aggregate throughput across the plurality of communication links for the requested data communication, wherein the adaptive bonded communication link is configured to adapt to data communication requirements for the requested data communication and to data communication characteristics of the plurality of communication links as the vehicle moves. A transmitting system and a method of transmitting digital broadcast signal are provided. The method of transmitting digital broadcasting signal in a transmitter includes multiplexing mobile data and main data, transmitting a transmission frame including the multiplexed mobile and main data, where a parade of data group is transmitted during slots, where each slot includes specified number of mobile data packets, a first scalable number of mobile data packets, and a second scalable number of main data packets, where the data group including a plurality of regions and the fifth region of the plurality of regions includes the first scalable number of mobile data packets, and where the data group is assigned to one of the slots in such a manner that slots of consecutive slot number carry data groups of inconsecutive group number.

A scheme for optimizing segment sizes for an adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming client engaged in a current ABR streaming session. In one implementation, a determination is made whether a wireless UE device executing the ABR streaming client is approaching a radio white spot area. If so, a video buffer of the ABR client is configured to preload a fixed number of segments having an adjusted size depending on the duration of the radio white spot area. The preloaded segments may comprise lower quality video segments, and as the wireless UE device exits the radio white spot area, the segment size and/or bitrates may be restored depending on the signal quality.

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, obtaining, over a first mobile network, first media content from a media content server, and detecting a travel route associated with the communication device. Further embodiments can include identifying a group of mobile networks associated with the travel route in which the group of mobile networks comprise the first mobile network. Additional embodiments can include determining a network condition associated with a second mobile network of the group of mobile networks, and identifying a portion of the travel route associated with the network condition. Also, embodiments can include adjusting the obtaining of the first media content from the media content server according to the network condition. Other embodiments are disclosed.
