A monitoring apparatus for monitoring a coaxial cable for control signal collisions comprises an input port configured to couple the monitoring apparatus to the coaxial cable for detecting control signals that are transmitted on the coaxial cable, and a data interface configured to couple the monitoring apparatus to a data network and configured to output the detected control signals. Further, an electronic device for receiving satellite signals via a coaxial cable comprises a signal interface configured to couple the electronic device to the coaxial cable, a data interface configured to couple the electronic device to a monitoring apparatus, and a device control unit configured to transmit control signals via the signal interface on the coaxial cable and to query the monitoring apparatus via the data interface for presence of respective control signals on the coaxial cable. In addition, a single cable satellite system and a monitoring method are also provided.

A method for assessing and improving network performance using video session data. Control plane signaling data comprising geographic location data from network monitoring equipment connected to a communications network is collected. Video session data comprising data of a plurality of video sessions from video monitoring equipment connected to the communications network is collected. The plurality of video sessions are associated with a plurality of mobile devices streaming videos on the respective mobile device across the communications network. The video session data and control plane signaling data within a cell of the communications network is correlated. The correlated data is provided to a communications network provider. The communications network is reorganized according to the correlated data.
Resource measurement and management
Aspects of the disclosure relate to measuring and managing data traffic in one or more networks. In some embodiments, a monitor may measure the traffic at one or more locations within the network(s) or devices associated therewith to determine whether the traffic exceeds a threshold. When the traffic exceeds the threshold, one or more actions may be taken, such as issuing or transmitting a command or directive. The command or directive may advise a device or an application to throttle or reduce an input or stimulus responsible for generating the traffic. In some embodiments, a throttling may be effectuated to reduce the data traffic.
STREAMING MEDIA DATA PROCESSING METHOD, PROCESSING SYSTEM AND STORAGE SERVER
The present application discloses a streaming media data processing method, including: receiving streaming media data, initializing a storage file and a storage queue according to a header data packet of the streaming media data, and starting a first thread to receive an enqueuing operation; starting a second thread and establishing a message channel to read a streaming media data packet from the storage queue for parsing, and adding the parsed streaming media data packet into the message channel in the form of a message; starting a third thread to read the message from the message channel and encapsulating the message according to preset requirements so as to store the message on a disk; determining a target pull server corresponding to the streaming media data and publishing the streaming media data to the target pull server.
Resource measurement and management
Aspects of the disclosure relate to measuring and managing data traffic in one or more networks. In some embodiments, a monitor may measure the traffic at one or more locations within the network(s) or devices associated therewith to determine whether the traffic exceeds a threshold. When the traffic exceeds the threshold, one or more actions may be taken, such as issuing or transmitting a command or directive. The command or directive may advise a device or an application to throttle or reduce an input or stimulus responsible for generating the traffic. In some embodiments, a throttling may be effectuated to reduce the data traffic.
REMOTE STORAGE DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER STREAMING AND RELATED METHODS
Systems, devices, and methods for streaming or otherwise delivering media content over a network are provided. One exemplary method of streaming media content over a network using a RS-DVR system involves receiving, at the RS-DVR system, a request for a portion of the media content from a media player on a client device via the network, receiving, at the RS-DVR system, the portion of the media content from an origin server on the network, buffering the portion of the media content at the RS-DVR system, and transmitting the portion of the media content to the media player on the client device. The portion of media content may be transmitted using a modified transport layer protocol, and in some embodiments, marked as non-cacheable.
Medical-use control system, image processing server, image converting apparatus, and control method
A sending-side image converting apparatus sends a transmission image to a network. An image processing server performs image processing on the transmission image and sends the image generated by the image processing to the network. A receiving-side image converting apparatus outputs display images converted from the transmission image and the image generated by the image processing, to a display apparatus. Further, a controlled delay time based on a difference between a delay time in a first transmission path without via the image processing server and a delay time in a second transmission path via the image processing server is obtained on the basis of a characteristic of the display apparatus, and a timing at which the images are output to the display apparatus is controlled. The present technology is applicable to, for example, a medical-use image transmission system.
Distributed encoding
Techniques are disclosed relating to encoding recorded content for distribution to other computing devices. In some embodiments, a first computing device creates recorded content for transmission to a second computing device configured to present the recorded content. To encode the recorded content, the first computing device detects, via a network interface of the first computing device, one or more computing nodes available to encode the recorded content in one or more formats supported by the second computing device. The first computing device offloads the recorded content via the network interface to the one or more computing nodes for encoding in the one or more formats. In some embodiments, the second computing device receives a request from a user to stream content recorded by a first computing device and requests the content in a first format being encoded by a computing node assisting the first computing device.
Determination of QOE in encrypted video streams using supervised learning
A method and respective system for determining quality of experience parameters of an encrypted video stream received at a client device is provided. The method comprises extracting, from one or more encrypted video streams sent over a network from a content server to a plurality of client devices, a first instance of at least one stream-related feature. A first instance of at least one quality-related label of a plurality of quality-related labels is determined based on applying a trained classifier to the first instance of the at least one stream-related feature, wherein each of the plurality of quality-related labels corresponds to a respective experience parameter of the quality of experience parameters of the encrypted video stream received at the client device.
