Telecommunications apparatus and methods
A method for controlling a connection procedure for a terminal device requesting a radio connection to a cell supported by network infrastructure equipment in a wireless telecommunication system, the method comprising: determining, at the terminal device, that a request to connect to the cell supported by the network infrastructure equipment is to be made, establishing, at the terminal device, application information relating to an operating context for the terminal device; transmitting a connection request message from the terminal device to the network infrastructure equipment, wherein the connection request message comprises a request for the terminal device to connect to the cell and an indication of the application information; and determining, at the network infrastructure equipment, whether to allow the request for the terminal device to connect to the cell based, at least in part, on the application information received by the network infrastructure equipment from the terminal device.
Method and apparatus for indicating an offloading data size and time duration in a wireless communication system
The object of the present invention can be achieved by providing a method of indicating an offloading data size and time duration to a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: receiving, by a Base station (BS) from a plurality of UEs, an input computing data size and local computing power; determining, by the BS, whether an each priority of the plurality of the UEs is greater than a threshold by using an offloading priority; determining, by the BS, an offloading data size and a time duration for each of UEs; transmitting, by the BS to the each of UEs, the determined offloading data size and a time duration for the each of UEs.
METHOD TO DYNAMICALLY CHANGE CONNECTIVITY OF VIRTUAL NETWORK FUNCTION (VNF) AND PHYSICAL NETWORK FUNCTION (PNF) INSTANCES IN NEW RADIO (NR) NETWORKS
Embodiments of a Network Manager (NM), a (NFVO), and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The NM may transfer, to the NFVO, an update NS request message to update the NS instance based on the new NSD. The NM may encode the update NS request message to include: an nsInstanceID parameter that identifies the NS instance, and an updateType parameter that indicates a type of update for the NS instance. One value of AssocPnfWithPnfProfile for the updateType parameter may indicate a request to associate the PNF of the NS instance with a new or updated PNF profile indicated by the new NSD. Another value of AssocVnfWithVnfProfile for the updateType parameter may indicate a request to associate the VNF of the NS instance with a new or updated VNF profile indicated by the new NSD.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING TRAFFIC STEERING AND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM
This application provides a method and apparatus for controlling traffic steering and a communications system. In an implementation of the method for controlling traffic steering, the method is applicable to an RAN node and includes: traffic steering indication information is determined; and the traffic steering indication information is transmitted to UE, so that the UE steers corresponding traffic to a traffic steering target according to the traffic steering indication information. With the method, load balance between 3GPP RAN and WLAN at an RAN level may be ensured, and in comparison with an existing mechanism, user experiences and system performance are improved.
Fronthaul link selection in wireless communications systems
A method, a system, and a computer program product for selecting fronthaul links in a wireless communication system. One or more link delays are determined. The link delays are associated with one or more communication links in the plurality of communication links communicatively coupling a first communication device and a second communication device. Using the determined link delays, a communication link transmission priority of the communication links for transmission of one or more data packets is determined. A listing of prioritized communication links is generated. At least one communication link in the prioritized communication links is selected for transmission of data packets between the first and second communication devices. Using the selected communication link, the data packets are transmitted between the first and second communication devices.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING SIGNAL AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
An apparatus for transmitting and receiving signals, applicable to a first integrated access and backhaul node donor central unit (IAB-donor-CU) includes a first controller configured to: transmit a traffic offload request to a second TAB-donor-CU; and receive a reply of agreement of traffic offload or a reply of rejection of traffic offload transmitted by the second TAB-donor-CU.
COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, BASE STATION, COMMUNICATION METHOD, AND NON- TRANSITORY COMPUTER READABLE MEDIUM STORING PROGRAM
An object is to provide a communication system, a base station, a communication method, and a program capable of eliminating an effect caused by a sharp increase in the amount of traffic by a specific group of communication terminals on the quality of the other communication terminals. A communication system according to the present invention includes a communication terminal (40), and a node device (13) that selects a gateway device (11) that performs data communication with the communication terminal (40). Further, the communication system includes a base station (30) that selects the node device (13) based on an identifier included in a connection request message transmitted from the communication terminal (40).
A METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CALL CAPACITY IN A MOBILE NETWORK
A computer implemented method for controlling call capacity in a mobile network. The method includes: activating a mass event mode in a first cell of a first base station, wherein the first cell is a high frequency band cell, and wherein operating in the mass event mode comprises: checking if any low frequency band cells are available in a first sector served by the first cell; and responsive to detecting that one or more low frequency band cells are available, switching, at least some, voice call connections of the users of the first cell to at least some of the available low frequency band cells.
