System and Method for Generating Control and Non-Payload Communication (CNPC) Congestion Metrics at a Ground Control Station
20220086668 · 2022-03-17 ·

A fusion engine configured for execution on a ground radio station (GRS) for an unmanned aircraft system (UAS) operating environment is disclosed. In embodiments, the fusion engine tracks the wait times of UAS required to share a C2 channel while waiting for a full C2 link with the GRS, as well as the dynamic availability of C2 channels for full or shared C2 links over time. Based on the collected wait times and availability variables, the fusion engine generates congestion metrics relevant to the capacity of the GRS, e.g., its available spectrum resources, to effectively provide C2 services to every UAS operating within its coverage area. Congestion metrics include expected wait times on a shared C2 link for a UAS in service (e.g., waiting for a full C2 link) and/or the expected number of C2 channels available at the GRS at a given time.

A network environment includes a communication management resource, a first wireless station, and a second wireless station. The communication management resource initially allocates a first wireless channel to the first wireless station; the first wireless channel is selected from multiple available wireless channels. The communication management resource detects that a second wireless station is a substitute to the first wireless station. For example, the second wireless station is substituted as a replacement to the first wireless station. In response to the detecting that the second wireless station is a substitute to the first wireless station, the communication management resource allocates the first wireless channel to the second wireless station.

Embodiments of this application provide a service continuity implementation method, an apparatus, and a system, to ensure service continuity in an application layer data packet transmission process. The method includes: receiving, by a session management network element, first survival time information from a policy control network element, where the first survival time information indicates duration of a service that survives when a correct data packet is not received; determining, by the session management network element, the first survival time information as a binding parameter of a quality of service QoS flow; and sending, by the session management network element, second survival time information to an access network device, where the second survival time information is used to indicate the duration; and after receiving the second survival time information from the session management network element, scheduling, by the access network device, a data packet based on the second survival time formation.

Method and apparatus for handling uplink bearer split configuration in multi-connectivity system

Method handling uplink (UL) bearer split configuration in multi-connectivity system includes identifying first UL data of a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer, transmitting first data of first UL data to a primary radio link control (RLC) entity for a first time period, and transmitting second data of the first UL data to a secondary RLC entity for a second time period, identifying at least one first network parameter of a first UL path associated with the primary RLC entity for the first time period, and identifying at least one second network parameter of a second UL path associated with the secondary RLC entity for the second time period, determining a split factor for splitting second UL data of the PDCP layer between the primary RLC entity and the secondary RLC entity based on the at least one first network parameter and the at least one second network parameter, and transmitting the second UL data to the primary and secondary RLC entities for a third time period based on the split factor.

DYNAMIC PACKET BUFFERING DURATION

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for packet buffering. A method that may be performed by a receiving node includes dynamically determining one or more time durations to buffer packets. The one or more time durations can be different than a time duration of a configured timer for buffering the packets. The receiving node may input one or more parameters to a machine learning algorithm and obtain, as output of the machine learning algorithm based on the input one or more parameters, one or more time durations to buffer packets. The receiving node buffers packets for the determined one or more time durations. The receiving node may use machine learning to dynamically determine the one or more time durations to buffer packet. The buffering may be at a radio link control (RLC) reassembling buffer and/or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) buffer.

The invention relates to a method for efficiently discarding data packets destined to a mobile station connected to both a master base station and a secondary base station. The master base station configures a secondary discard function in a lower layer of the secondary base station, based on the master discard function in the higher layer of the master base station. The master base station forwards the data packet from the higher layer to the lower of the secondary base station. The secondary discard function of the lower layer at the secondary base station discards the received data packet upon expiry of the secondary timer started by the lower layer upon reception of the data packet from the higher layer at the master base station.
