The method includes receiving a request for accessing one of multiple network components from an application at a centralized network policy controller. The method additionally includes evaluating the request at the central network policy controller to determine if the request is core related or RAN related and assigning the application to a selected one of the multiple network components based on the evaluation, wherein the selected one is a core component when the request is core-related and the selected one is a RAN component when the request is RAN-related.

Slice intent efficiency assurance and enhancement in enterprise private 5G network

An approach to configure enterprise wireless mobile network slices. A method includes receiving slice definition information representative of a network slice, the slice definition information including an expected slice efficiency index of the network slice, provisioning the network slice, consistent with the slice definition information, in a wireless network, receiving telemetry corresponding to operational metrics of an instance of the network slice that is used by one or more devices in the wireless network, calculating an actual slice efficiency index for the instance of the network slice based on the telemetry corresponding to the operation metrics of the instance of the network slice, determining whether the expected slice efficiency index differs from the actual slice efficiency index by a predetermined threshold, and indicating a course of action to cause the actual slice efficiency index to more closely align with the expected slice efficiency index.

System, device, and method of cellular congestion management without cell awareness. A system defines applications as important or non-important. The system measures and monitors parameters related to cellular traffic, and remotely generates an estimate that a first User Equipment (UE) is experiencing cellular traffic congestion. A Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) Engine determines that the first UE is utilizing a first communication flow associated with an Important Application, and is also utilizing a second communication flow associated with a Non-Important Application. Filtering pass-through bitrate limits are enforced, selectively and remotely, on communication flows of the first UE, by enforcing a reduced bitrate limit on the second communication flow that is associated with a Non-Important Application, and by not enforcing a reduced bitrate limit on the first communication flow that is associated with an Important Application.

Technique for Reporting Quality of Experience (QOE) - And Application Layer (AL) Measurements at High Load

A technique for Quality of Experience (QoE) or Application Layer (AL) measurements at high load is described. As to one method aspect of the technique for reporting QoE measurements from a radio device (100) wirelessly connected or connectable to a radio access network, RAN (200), the method (400) comprises or initiates a step of receiving (402; 810) a stop control message (808) from or through the RAN (200) at the radio device (100), the stop control message (808) being indicative of a command for storing (404) results of the QoE or AL measurements at the radio device (100) and stopping (406) the radio device (100) from reporting (408) the stored results of the QoE or AL measurements to or through the RAN.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SUBSCRIBER LEVEL ADMISSION CONTROL AND PREEMPTION IN A NETWORK SLICE

Systems and methods described herein employ an allocation and retention priority for user equipment (UE), referred to as a UE ARP. The UE ARP may be defined per network slice, such that a subscriber can have different priority in different slices. According to one implementation, a network device receives, from a UE device, a registration request requesting access to a network slice and obtains a UE ARP. The UE ARP associates the UE device with a priority level on the network slice. When the network device determines that a maximum number of terminals are using the network slice, it applies the priority level in the UE ARP to grant or deny the UE device access to the network slice.
