A printed circuit board includes an insulating layer, a circuit pattern on the insulating layer, and a surface treatment layer on the circuit pattern. The surface treatment layer includes a bottom surface having a width wider than a width of a top surface of the circuit pattern.
Pattern-edged metal-plane resonance-suppression
Apparatuses and methods are provided for mitigating radio frequency interference and electromagnetic compatibility issues caused by the resonance of metal planes of a circuit board. A method for controlling impedance at an edge of a circuit board includes creating a cut at an edge of a plane of the circuit board. The cut extends from the edge of the plane to a point at a depth into the plane. The method can further include creating a cut pattern in the edge of the plane by repeating the cut along the edge of the plane such that an impedance of the plane at the depth is different, or lower, than an impedance of the plane at the edge of the plane. Three-Dimensional (3D) Copper in Printed Circuit Boards
Structures that implement three-dimensional (3D) conductive material (e.g., copper) in printed circuit boards (PCBs) are disclosed. 3D (three-dimensional) conductive material may include trenches and/or buried vias that are filled with conductive material in the PCBs. Trenches may be formed in build-up layers of a PCB by overlapping multiple laser drilled vias. The trenches may be filled with conductive material using electroplating process(es). Buried vias may be formed through the core layers of the PCB by mechanical drilling. The buried via may be filled with solid conductive material using a combination of electroless plating and electrolytic plating of conductive material. Various PCB structures are disclosed that implement combinations of these trenches and/or these buried vias filled with conductive material.
Wiring substrate
A wiring substrate includes a core layer, first conductor layers including first inner, outer and intermediate conductor layers, second conductor layers including second inner, outer and intermediate conductor layers, interlayer insulating layers interposed between the first conductor layers and between the second conductor layers, and via conductors formed in the core layer such that each via conductor decreases in diameter from one of the inner conductor layers toward the other one of the inner conductor layers and that the other one of the inner conductor layers has thickness greater than thickness of the one of the inner conductor layers. The first and/or second inner conductor layers includes a first laminated structure including metal foil and plating film layers, the first and/or second outer conductor layers includes the first laminated structure, and the first and/or second intermediate conductor layers includes a second laminated structure including metal foil and plating film layers.
SIGNAL TRACE CONFIGURATION TO REDUCE CROSS TALK
Examples described herein relate to an apparatus comprising: a trace comprising a portion routed at least 180 degrees around a perimeter of a pad, wherein the portion is coupled to the pad. In some examples, wherein a cross-sectional shape of the portion routed at least 180 degrees around a perimeter of the pad is one or a combination of: circular, elliptical, square, rectangle, or triangular. In some examples, wherein the portion routed at least 180 degrees around a perimeter of the pad is to increase package inductance and reduce a magnitude of far end cross talk (FEXT). In some examples, wherein the portion routed at least 180 degrees around a perimeter of the pad comprises one or more of: copper, bronze, or an alloy.

METHODS FOR FABRICATING PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD ASSEMBLIES WITH HIGH DENSITY VIA ARRAY
A method is provided for forming a printed circuit board (PCB) assembly. The method may include drilling a first plurality of vias having a first diameter in a PCB and filling the first plurality of vias to form a first plurality of plated or filled vias. The method may also include drilling a second plurality of vias having a second diameter in the PCB, and filling the second plurality of vias to form a second plurality of plated or filled vias. The first plurality of plated or filled vias is mixed with the second plurality of plated or filled vias such that the spacing between the first plurality of plated or filled vias and the second plurality of plated or filled vias is less than the first diameter and the second diameter.

A printed wiring board includes a base insulating layer, a conductor layer including first and second pads, a solder resist layer covering the conductor layer and having first opening exposing the first pad and second opening exposing the second pad, a first bump including base plating layer in the first opening and top plating layer on the first base layer, and a second bump including base plating layer in the second opening and top plating layer on the base layer. The second opening has smaller diameter than the first opening, and the second bump has smaller diameter than the first bump. The first base layer has flat upper surface or first recess having depth of 20 μm or less in upper central portion. The second base layer has flat upper surface, raised portion in upper central portion, or second recess shallower than the first recess in the upper central portion.
MAGNETIC WIRING CIRCUIT BOARD AND PRODUCING METHOD THEREOF
A magnetic wiring circuit board includes an insulating layer; a wire disposed on a one-side surface in a thickness direction of the insulating layer and having a one-side surface in the thickness direction disposed to face the one-side surface in the thickness direction of the insulting layer at spaced intervals thereto, an other-side surface in the thickness direction in contact with the one-side surface in the thickness direction of the insulating layer, and side surfaces each connecting an end edge of the one-side surface in the thickness direction to an end edge of the other-side surface in the thickness direction; and a magnetic layer containing a magnetic particle having a shape of an aspect ratio of 2 or more and embedding the wire.
