In the low voltage switching device the driving assembly includes a latching mechanism which is operatively coupled to the operating assembly and to the movable contact assembly, the latching mechanism interacting with the movable contact assembly and latching it in the first contact position during a first phase of the movement of the operating assembly between the first, open, position and the second, closed position, then unlatching the movable contact assembly when the operating assembly is in an intermediate position between the first, open, position and the second, closed position, thereby allowing the quick passage of the movable contact assembly from the first contact position to the third contact position in which the movable contacts and the fixed contacts are coupled and kept pressed.

SWITCHING DEVICE WITH IMPROVED CLOSING PREVENTION

A stored energy-type circuit breaker includes a sensor that operates as a full open sensor, and that is used to prevent the circuit breaker from closing in response to either a closing signal or a manual operation. The full open sensor exhibits a first output condition when the moveable contact is in a fully open position and a second output condition when the moveable contact begins to leave the fully open position. An electronic trip unit (ETU) is electrically connected to the sensor and, when in a close break mode, blocks the circuit breaker from closing. The ETU does this by, upon detecting that the sensor is in the second output condition, generating a signal that will cause the breaker's opening spring to return the moveable contact to the fully open position.

Circuit breaker linking system for movable contact

A device for switching an electric current with separable electrical contacts includes a switching mechanism including: a switching shaft that is coupled to a mobile electrical contact; a trip hook that is pivotably mounted on a fixed support of the mechanism; a linking system coupling the switching shaft to the trip hook. The linking system includes a first pair of connecting rods that are pivotably mounted on the trip hook and a second pair of connecting rods that are mounted so as to pivot with a crank of the switching shaft. The first connecting rods are connected to the second connecting rods with a single axis of articulation which forms a pivot link between the first connecting rods and the second connecting rods.

ELECTRICAL SWITCHING DEVICE WITH SEPARABLE CONTACTS AND CIRCUIT BREAKER COMPRISING SUCH A DEVICE

Electrical switching device, including separable electrical contacts, a switching mechanism and a control lever. This switching mechanism is designed to move the separable contacts reversibly and selectively between a stable closed state and a stable open state. The control lever can be moved between a closing position and an opening position. The switching mechanism is configured to move the separable contacts from their closed state to their open state when the lever is moved from its closing position to its opening position, and to this end includes a spring which, between the closing position of the lever and a first intermediate position referred to as the “dead point”, exerts a force that opposes the movement of the lever and which, between the dead-point position and the opening position of the lever, exerts a force that drives the contacts towards the open position. The switching mechanism comprises a holding device which is configured to prevent the switching mechanism from moving the contacts towards their open position when the lever is moved from the closing position to the opening position and when the lever has not passed a second intermediate position located between the dead-point position and the opening position.
