The deflection unit has an adjustment mode to adjust an X-ray focal spot diameter and an X-ray generation mode to generate an X-ray, the electron beam is caused to enter the first region in the adjustment mode, and the electron beam is caused to enter the second region in the X-ray generation mode.
X-Ray Tube with Distributed Filaments
An x-ray generating unit includes an x-ray tube that is substantially transparent to x-rays and that defines a vacuum therein. A cathode is disposed within the x-ray tube and defines a plurality of spaced apart cavities. An anode is spaced apart from the cathode and includes a material that emits x-rays when impacted by electrons. A plurality of filaments is each disposed in a different one of the cavities defined by the cathode and each is electrically coupled to the cathode. Each filament emits a focused electron beam directed to a different predetermined spot on the anode upon application of a predetermined voltage between the cathode and the anode, thereby causing the anode to generate x-rays.
Bremsstrahlung target for radiation therapy system
Described herein is a medical linear accelerator including an accelerator target structure constructed of a material having a thickness of less than 0.2 radiation lengths, and an accelerator structure to receive an electromagnetic wave and generate an output therapy dose rate of electrons having a beam energy between 4-25 mega-electronvolts (MeV).
X-ray interferometric imaging system
An x-ray interferometric imaging system in which the x-ray source comprises a target having a plurality of structured coherent sub-sources of x-rays embedded in a thermally conducting substrate. The system additionally comprises a beam-splitting grating G.sub.1 that establishes a Talbot interference pattern, which may be a π phase-shifting grating, and an x-ray detector to convert two-dimensional x-ray intensities into electronic signals. The system may also comprise a second analyzer grating G.sub.2 that may be placed in front of the detector to form additional interference fringes, a means to translate the second grating G.sub.2 relative to the detector. The system may additionally comprise an antiscattering grid to reduce signals from scattered x-rays. Various configurations of dark-field and bright-field detectors are also disclosed.
FAILURE ANALYSIS APPARATUS USING X-RAYS
An apparatus is provided, which includes a source, a holder, and a conductive member. The source generates an electron beam and the holder is configured to receive a sample. The conductive member is arranged between the source and the holder at a first position or a second position. The electron beam impinges on the sample to provide a first analysis reading when the conductive member is at the first position, and the electron beam impinges on the conductive member to emanate an X-ray beam on the sample to provide a second analysis reading when the conductive member is at the second position.
RADIOTHERAPY EQUIPMENT
A radiotherapy equipment including: a rotating gantry, an X-beam generating assembly and a treatment couch. The X-beam generating assembly is on the rotating gantry, rotates about a rotation axis of the rotating gantry driven by the rotating gantry, and generates an X-beam deflected with respect to a rotating plane of the rotating gantry in a direction of the rotation axis, and the rotating gantry and the X-beam generating assembly are stationary in the direction of the rotation axis. The treatment couch is on a side of the rotating gantry for supporting a patient, and moves along the direction of the rotation axis to cooperate with a deflection of the X-beam to irradiate a target of the patient with the X-beam.
