Intraoral scanning system using magnetic induction

Disclosed is an intra-oral scanning system including: a scanning device including at least a first magnetic induction coil; a replaceable scanning tip including at least a second magnetic induction coil; the scanning tip being removably connected to the scanning device; wherein the at least first and second magnetic induction coils are configured to provide power transfer and/or a communication signal between the scanning device and the scanning tip during operation of the scanning system.

ELECTRICAL DEVICE POWER MANAGEMENT

An electrical device includes a memory storing a value indicative the remaining available rated capacity of one or more batteries. The stored value is changed in use to reflect reducing capacity. The initial stored value is chosen so that there is a very high (e.g. >99.9%) confidence that the one or more batteries will provide at least the capacity indicated by the initial stored value. This reduces the chance of failure during emergency procedures. The one or more batteries may be integral to the electrical device. An override facility is provided.

Medical scope device with improved radio frequency data interface

A medical camera system includes a video medical scope defining an enclosed space within a distal portion and a proximal portion that a user can attach and detach to each other. The two portions both have an interface for coupling to each other allowing radio frequency communications across a patient isolation barrier having improvements to avoid interfering with surrounding equipment. Power transfer elements provide for power transfer across the patient isolation barrier.

WIRELESS CHARGING SYSTEM FOR MEDICAL DEVICES

A wireless charging system for recharging batteries in a medical environment includes a charging station. The charging station may include an opening to receive batteries and an outlet for dispensing charged batteries, wherein the outlet comprises a slot in a front cover. The charging station also includes a wireless power transmitter having a transmitting antenna.

There is provided a medical endoscope device including: an encoding processing unit configured to compression-encode RAW image data of a medical captured image of an observation target captured by an imaging device that is inserted into a body of a patient and captures an image of an inside of the body; and a transmission unit configured to wirelessly transmit the compression-encoded RAW image data.

Endocoupler with induction coupling

Endoscopic systems and methods that provide wireless power transmission from a camera head to at least one solid-state light source housed in an endoscopic device. The endoscopic systems and methods employ a multi-stage electromagnetic induction coupling mechanism that can wirelessly transfer power from the camera head to an endocoupler, as well as from the endocoupler to the solid-state light source, while allowing axial rotational motion of at least the camera head, the endocoupler, and/or the endoscopic device relative to one another.

Operating room wireless power transfer

A surgical room power system including at least one source of power wired to a power source for a surgical room, the at least one source of power being wired to the surgical room; at least one power receiver; and a surgical power consumer wired to the at least one power receiver, the surgical power consumer being configured to assist a surgeon during a surgical procedure on a patient. The at least one source of power wirelessly transfers power to the at least one power receiver for powering the surgical power consumer.

A modular endoscope system comprises a first modular section comprising imaging and illumination units, and a patient-insertable second modular section that can be detached to the first modular section via an attachment mechanism, wherein the first modular section is positionable at a distal end section of the second modular section and is configured to illuminate and image a portion of a patient anatomy. A method of using a modular endoscopy system comprises attaching a first modular section of the modular endoscopy system to a second modular section of the modular endoscopy system, positioning at least a portion of the modular endoscopy system within a patient, illuminating and imaging a portion of a patient anatomy via the first modular section, removing the modular endoscopy system from the patient, and detaching the second modular section from the first modular section after removal of the modular endoscopy system from the patient.
