ENDOSCOPE APPARATUS, AND METHOD AND PROGRAM FOR OPERATING ENDOSCOPE APPARATUS

The present technology relates to an endoscope apparatus configured to be capable of assisting with setting of an angle of view of immediately before an endoscope is pulled out when the endoscope is pulled out and cleaned and then reinserted during surgery in endoscopic surgery and the like, and a method and program for operating the endoscope apparatus. An image captured by the endoscope apparatus is recorded, a feature value of the image captured is detected, a difference between detected feature values of consecutive images is obtained, and, when the difference is greater than a predetermined threshold value, an index is added to the image captured. Thus, the index is added to an image of immediately before the endoscope is pulled out from a body cavity, and the image is recorded. Then, when the endoscope is pulled out and then reinserted, the images each to which the index is added are displayed as a list, and information indicating an angle of view in an image selected is displayed to be superimposed on information indicating an angle of view of an image currently captured after reinsertion, whereby assist display to an original angle of view is obtained. The present technology can be applied to the endoscope apparatus.

Various methods and systems for delivery of an ETT for intubation are provided. In one example, an ETT delivery system includes a rail system for guiding insertion of an ETT and at least partially defining the motion of the ETT. The ETT delivery system further may include a video laryngoscope blade coupled to the rail system and a delivery mechanism. In some examples, the ETT delivery system further includes a positioner configured to adjust the motion of the ETT. As a further example, the ETT delivery system may include a swing arm and a guide rail to at least partially define the motion of the swing arm. Further, a drive-down mechanism may effect motion of the swing arm. As another embodiment, a rail system, a disposable blade and a positioner may be provided. Further, a delivery mechanism may be operatively linked with the integrated rail system.

Monitor apparatus

A monitor apparatus includes: a display panel that displays a medical image; an as-viewed output terminal capable of outputting a video signal reflecting a same color set value as a color set value reflected in the medical image displayed on the display panel; a communication unit that detects device information regarding an external device connected to the as-viewed output terminal; and a second color setting reflection unit capable of controlling to further change the color set value reflected in the video signal outputted from the as-viewed output terminal based on a detection result of the communication unit.

A reduced area imaging device is provided for use in medical or dental instruments such as an endoscope. The imaging device is provided in various configurations, and connections between the imaging device elements and a video display may be achieved by wired or wireless connections. A connector assembly located near the imaging device interconnects the imaging device to an image/power cable extending through the endoscope. The connector provides strain relief and stabilization for electrically interconnecting the imager to the cable. The connector also serves as the structure for anchoring the distal ends of steering wires extending through the body of the endoscopic device. The connector includes a strain relief member mounted over a body of the connector. The connector allows a steering wire capability without enlarging the profile of the distal tip of the endoscopic device.

A handheld surgical endoscope has a disposable, single-use handle, cannula and distal tip. The distal tip includes LED illumination and an imaging module that feeds live video to a re-usable display module that connects off-axis to the disposable handle. A rechargeable battery module also attaches to the handle. The cannula includes two lumens for separate fluid in-flow and out-flow channels, as well as providing a working channel through which a surgical implement can be used. Extruded cannula and molded distal tip parts can be separately formed which aids in manufacturing and assembly. The working channel can have a substantially straight proximal access port.

Stone identification methods and systems

Aspects of stone identification methods and systems are described. According to one aspect, an exemplary method comprises: transmitting to a processing unit, with an imaging element mounted on a distal end of a scope, image data about a stone object inside a body cavity; generating from the image data, with the processing unit, a visual representation of the stone object and the body cavity; establishing from a user input, with the processing unit, a scale for the visual representation; determining from the visual representation, with the processing unit, a size of the stone object on the scale; comparing, with the processing unit, the size of the stone object with a predetermined maximum size to determine a removal status; and augmenting, with the processing unit, the visual representation to include an indicator responsive to the removal status. Associated systems are also described.
