An interventional hysteroscope includes a shaft, an optical imaging element, an ultrasonic imaging element and a treatment element, such as an ablation needle. The shaft has a distal end, a proximal end, and a longitudinal axis therebetween, and the optical imaging element is disposed at the distal end of the shaft. The ultrasonic imaging element is also disposed at the distal end of the shaft and is configured to image along a laterally oriented image path. The treatment element is configured to be deployed from the shaft along a laterally oriented treatment path, and the imaging path and the treatment path intersect at an intersectional location spaced laterally away from the shaft. A display is configured to present both an optical image from the optical imaging element and an ultrasonic image from the ultrasonic imaging element and to present a marker on the ultrasonic image at a location corresponding to the intersectional location.

An imaging tube 210 includes an imaging lens and an illumination unit. A cap part 230 including a penetration part in which the imaging tube 210 penetrates is included at a leading end part of amain body part 220. A protective tube 212 that protects the entire circumference of the imaging tube 210 is attached to the imaging tube 210. A holding part 235 that holds an end part of the protective tube 212 with the imaging tube 210 is formed in the penetration part of the cap part 230. When being rotated in a first direction, the cap part 230 is moved in a direction opposite to a protruding direction of the imaging tube 210. When being rotated in a second direction opposite to the first direction, the cap part 230 is moved in the protruding direction of the imaging tube 210.

Endoscopy/stereo colposcopy medical instrument

A medical endoscopy/stereo colposcopy instrument is configured to selectively take stereo colposcopy images of a patient's uterus and endoscopy images of the patient's bladder or uterus. Any of the images can be white light images or images for a selected narrow wavelength band or fluorescence images. The images can be displayed individually or as spatially registered composite images to highlight selected features of the imaged anatomy. A cup-shaped device can be positioned at the patient's cervix and provided with a light source and a fluorescence camera module to monitor changes in fluorescence in response to a photoactivated substance.

Method of placing medical insertion instruments in body cavity

An endoscope and an illuminator are safely placed in a body cavity without generating a noticeable postoperative scar. A method of placing medical insertion instruments into a body cavity includes a first step of inserting, into the body cavity through a first opening formed on a body wall, an endoscope together with a first illuminator; and a second step of inserting, into the body cavity through a second opening formed at a position different from the first opening, a second illuminator. Preferably, the method further includes a third step of pulling out the first illuminator from the first opening and inserting the first illuminator into the body cavity through a third opening formed at a position different from the first and second openings.

An imaging connector includes a proximal side and a distal side. The proximal side includes a light input opening and an image output opening. The distal side includes a light output opening and an image input opening. The imaging connector is operable to (i) transmit light from the light input opening to the light output opening, and (ii) transmit an image from the image input opening to the image output opening.

ERGONOMIC EZ SCOPE DIGITAL IMAGING SYSTEM

An ergonomic digital imaging system obviates the need for, and replaces, the standard microscope with binoculars for viewing images, thereby freeing the user from using his or her hands to manipulate images seen through the binoculars of the microscope, whereby the user can use his or her hands for other tasks, such as dental or other surgery, from a position away from the exhaled breath of the patient being treated. The images are maintained focused, no matter how close or far the viewer is to the viewing display screen. The system is collapsible and portable, so that specialists can take the system from office to office, a plug and play work environment. The extended maneuverability of the camera head results in simple and fast patient positioning, and the camera and display module adjust for any comfortable sit or stand ergonomics of the practitioner.

METHODS AND RELATED ASPECTS FOR EAR PATHOLOGY DETECTION

Provided herein are methods of detecting a pathology in an ear of a subject that include matching properties of captured images and/or videos with properties of an ear pathology model that is trained on a plurality of reference images and/or videos of ears of reference subjects, which properties of the ear pathology model are indicative of the pathology. Related kits, devices, systems, and computer program products are also provided.
