TETHER TRACTION SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
20230000496 · 2023-01-05 · ·

The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices. In particular, the present disclosure relates to traction systems, and methods of use thereof, for endoscopic procedures such as tissue dissection. For example, a traction system may include a filament extendable along an outer surface of an endoscope with a distal end of the filament attachable to a medical device engaged with a target tissue of a body lumen.

MINIMALLY INVASIVE DISSECTOR FOR INTER-LAYER PROCEDURES

A device for minimally invasive, inter-layer surgical procedures advantageously forms a wedge for advancing between adjacent tissue layers and provides a jaw that can be actuated to create a working space for a cutting tool and other instruments within a plane between the tissue layers. The device may also usefully employ an open or wireframe structure for the opposing jaws to preventing tissue or fluid accumulation between the jaws and maximize visibility around the surgical site.

Crossing coronary occlusions

Embodiments for crossing an occlusion by controlling a guide with the aid of optical coherence tomography (OCT) data are described. Embodiments include transmitting one or more beams of radiation via one or more waveguides on a flexible substrate within a guide wire. One or more beams of scattered or reflected radiation may be received from a sample via one or more waveguides. Depth-resolved optical data of the sample may be generated based on the received beams of scattered or reflected radiation. The depth-resolved data may be used for determining at least one of a distance between the guide wire and a wall of the artery and a distance between the guide wire and an occlusion within the artery. A position of the guide wire within the artery may then be controlled based on the determined distance or distances.

Endoscope

Provided is an endoscope that can easily perform the attachment and detachment work of a proximal end side of a wire without impairing the operability of an operating part. The an endoscope includes an operating part (22) including an erection operating lever (20), an insertion part (24), an elevator (30), a wire (60) that is disposed to be inserted into a wire channel (62) to be movable forward and backward therethrough and is attachably and detachably coupled to the elevator (30) on a distal end side thereof, an opening part (94) that is provided at a proximal end of the wire channel (62) and delivers the proximal end side of the wire (60) to the outside of the operating part (22), a rotating member (96) that is disposed to be exposed to the outside of the operating part (22) and is configured to be rotatable around a rotational axis (96A) having a component in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal direction of the operating part (22) depending on the operation of the erection operating lever (20), an engaged part (144) that is provided in the rotating member (96), and an engaging part (98) that is provided on the proximal end side of the wire (60) and is engageably and disengageably engageable with the engaged part (144).

Real-time sampling device

An elongated access device used in a medical system. The elongated access device slidably receives a medical tool and an ultrasound probe. The elongated access device includes a sheath and an intraluminal tip attached to the distal end of the sheath. The intraluminal tip includes ramp and nose donuts being spaced apart from one another and configured to be attached to one or more elongated sleeves. One or more orientation pins are engaged with the respective ramp and nose donuts and may be anchored within the sheath. The medical tool is engaged with a ramp formed in the ramp donut or a ramp received within the ramp donut. The ultrasound probe is configured to engage with the intraluminal tip so as to ensure that the medical tool directionality is oriented toward a target during a procedure.

OVER THE SCOPE CLIP WITH REPOSITIONAL CAPABILITY

A clipping system includes a cap configured to be mounted over a distal end of an endoscope. A clip mountable over the cap to move between an insertion configuration, in which first and second jaws extend over opposing portions of the cap so that the first and second jaws are separated from one another, a review configuration, in which the clip is moved distally relative to the cap so that a portion of the clip extends distally until at least a portion of the clip extends into a field of view of the optical system of an endoscope on which the cap is mounted, and a deployed configuration in which the clip is moved distally off of the clip so that the first and second jaws are drawn toward one another under the bias of the at least one hinge to close over tissue received therebetween.

Two-Piece Spine Implant Installation Instrument For Use With An Endoscope And Method Of Use
20230225881 · 2023-07-20 · ·

A two-piece medical instrument for installing an expandable interbody (intervertebral) spine implant via an endoscope, has a handle assembly and a shaft assembly configured for extension through the endoscope, the shaft assembly holding an expandable interbody spine implant when the shaft assembly is fully received by a head of the handle assembly, and releasing the spine implant upon retraction of the shaft assembly from the head of the handle assembly. The shaft assembly has a rod with a longitudinal bore and a sleeve situated on the rod that axially moves relative to the rod in response to the reception into and retraction from the handle assembly head, with the sleeve controlling capture and release of the implant by the rod. The distal end of the rod has a clamp formed by jaws that flex to capture and release the implant.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SUTURING TISSUE

The disclosure relates generally to devices and methods for treating a tissue defect, for example, by suturing. In some embodiments, a suturing device may include an elongate member having a working channel, a suture channel, and a suture arm extending from the elongate member. The suturing device may further include a needle passer located within the working channel, the needle passer operable to deliver a needle between the elongate member and a distal end of the suture arm for suturing a target tissue, and a suture extending through the suture channel, wherein the suture is coupled to the needle. The suturing device may further include a plurality of imaging devices, wherein a first imaging device is positioned along a distal face of the elongate member, and wherein a second imaging device is positioned along the suture arm.
