A fluid dispensing catheter includes an inner member defining a first passage and an outer member defining a second passage. The inner member is disposed within the second passage. The fluid dispensing catheter also includes a plug having a proximal section positioned within the first passage and a distal section extending distally from the proximal section. The distal section is positioned outside of the first passage and within the second passage.

INVAGINATING DEVICE, A SUTURING APPARATUS, A SUTURING INSTRUMENT AND A METHOD FOR SUTURING A LUMEN, VESSEL OR ORGAN
20230068021 · 2023-03-02 · ·

A suturing apparatus comprises an invaginating device secured to a distal end of an endoscope for invaginating two parts of the interior of a wall of a vessel, for example, a stomach to be sutured together to form a gastric sleeve. The invaginating device includes a suction chamber for forming invaginated parts of the interior of the wall of the vessel. A suturing instrument extending through an instrument channel of the endoscope extends into the invaginating device, and is urged into or adjacent the suction chamber for inserting a suture into the invaginated part in the suction chamber. The next invaginated part is then formed, and the suture is inserted into it. The suture is then tightened to draw the two invaginated parts together.

Medical devices

In at least one embodiment, a medical device can comprise an elongate outer sheath that extends along a sheath longitudinal axis and defines a central lumen extending therethrough, the elongate outer sheath can comprise a proximal sheath portion and a distal sheath portion. A first guidewire can comprise a first guidewire end and a second guidewire end, the first guidewire can extend from the first and second guidewire ends through the central lumen and can form a distal looped portion. An occlusion device can be disposed at a distal end of an elongate flexible shaft. The elongate flexible shaft can extend from the proximal sheath portion through the central lumen. The occlusion device can include a guide lumen through which the first guide wire passes.

Optically guided surgical devices

A device for performing surgical procedures, such as intracardiac procedures or neurosurgical procedures, includes a solid optical window formed of a transparent, compliant material, wherein the solid optical window includes a proximal side and a distal side, wherein a distal face of the solid optical window is configured to approach tissue during a surgical procedure; an imaging system embedded into the solid optical window and positioned to obtain an image through at least a portion of the distal face of the solid optical window; and a tool channel formed through the solid optical window from the proximal side to the distal side of the solid optical window, wherein the tool channel is configured to receive a tool for performing the surgical procedure.

Fully integrated endoscope with biopsy capabilities and methods of use

An integrated scope and biopsy device having visualization for use in many different medical applications, such as, but not limited to, collection of uterine tissue biopsy is disclosed. The device may further include an integrated camera and light for visualizing the interior of the uterus and the tissue biopsy site itself. Further, the device is configured to evacuate tissue biopsies through aspiration and irrigation.

OFF-AXIS VISUALIZATION SYSTEMS

Off-axis visualization systems are described herein which facilitate the deployment, visualization, and retraction of an imaging element from a catheter. Such a system may include a deployment catheter and an attached imaging hood deployable into an expanded configuration as well as an imaging element, such as a CCD or CMOS imager, which may be deployed from a low profile configuration into a position which is off-axis relative to a longitudinal axis of the deployment catheter and/or imaging hood.

Medical endodevice

A medical endodevice for an intervention inside a human or animal body includes an elongated liaising structure having a distal end arrangeable inside a body of the human or animal being and a proximal end arrangeable outside the body while the distal end is inside the body. The endodevice has an intervention tool arranged to manipulate a target tissue inside the human or animal body. The intervention tool is arranged at the distal end of the liaising structure. The endodevice further includes a positioning unit having a moving formation arranged to dislocate the intervention tool relative to the target tissue, and an anchoring formation arranged to fix the moving formation to a fixing tissue inside the human or animal body such that the target tissue is positioned in a workspace of the intervention tool.

According to one aspect, a medical device may be configured for use with an endoscope and may include a tool. The tool may include an actuator, at least one extension at a distal portion of the actuator, and a distal end. The at least one extension may extend radially outward from the actuator and may have an edge configured to fragment debris within a body. The medical device may also include a cap configured for coupling to a distal end of the endoscope, and the cap may include a body defining an opening and a cavity. The opening may be configured to align with optics of the endoscope, and the at least one extension may be positioned within the cavity of the body.

ENDOSCOPIC DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS AND LESION PART VOLUME MEASURING METHOD
20170363857 · 2017-12-21 · ·

There are provided a lesion part volume measuring method and an endoscopic diagnostic apparatus capable of easily detecting the volume of a lesion part without using a special treatment instrument. This problem is solved by detecting the position of a distal end portion of a scope hood from an image captured by an endoscope to which the scope hood is attached, finding the volume of the internal space of the scope hood, which is formed by the scope hood and the distal end surface of an insertion part, from the position of the distal end portion of the scope hood and the model of the endoscope and/or the model of the scope hood, and injecting water into the scope hood and detecting the volume of a lesion part from the difference between the water injection amount and the volume of the internal space of the scope hood.
