According to one aspect, a medical device may be configured for use with an endoscope and may include a tool. The tool may include an actuator, at least one extension at a distal portion of the actuator, and a distal end. The at least one extension may extend radially outward from the actuator and may have an edge configured to fragment debris within a body. The medical device may also include a cap configured for coupling to a distal end of the endoscope, and the cap may include a body defining an opening and a cavity. The opening may be configured to align with optics of the endoscope, and the at least one extension may be positioned within the cavity of the body.
ASPIRATION ENDOSCOPE DEVICE AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The present technology relates to endoscope devices and methods of use for said endoscope devices. In one embodiment, the device comprises a semicircular aspiration channel with a blocking bar disposed at an outlet of the semicircular aspiration channel to prevent clogging of said channel. The endoscope devices of the present invention may further comprise a plurality of working channels, an image sensor, and a light source. In addition, for work within the ureter, a force sensor is incorporated to ensure safe passage of the largest flexible ureteroscope.
Device and methods for inspection and treatment of hemorrhoids
A device may include an elongated housing formed of an optically transparent material, the housing extending from a proximal end to a distal end and including a lateral wall extending from the proximal end to a distal tip of the housing, the housing defining a lumen extending into the housing from a proximal opening in the proximal end of the housing. The device also may include a first port extending through the lateral wall of the housing to open the lumen of the housing to an exterior of the housing, the first port being sized and shaped to receive therein a target portion of tissue to be inspected and/or treated.
ENDOSCOPIC NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle and suture assembly is provided for use with an endoscopic suturing device with a needle holder arm. The needle assembly includes a needle tip and a needle body. The needle tip has a sharp end. The needle body is tubular and has first and second ends and flexible tab retainers adjacent the second end for retaining the needle body relative to the needle holder arm. The tab retainers elastically deform to allow the needle body to be released from the needle holder arm upon application of force therebetween. The needle body has a suture opening located between the first end and the retainers. A suture extends into the suture opening of the needle body and is fixed therein.
Medical systems, devices, and related methods
A medical system may include an insertion device including a delivery shaft with at least one lumen, a tube coupled to an exterior of the delivery shaft, and an adaptor coupling a distal end of the delivery shaft to a distal end of the tube. One of the delivery shaft and the tube may be configured to receive an energy delivery device, and the other of the delivery shaft and the tube may be configured to be coupled to a suction source to apply suction.
Multi-shield spinal access system
An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. This combines the benefits of the direct visual microsurgical/mini open approaches and the percutaneous, “ultra-MIS” techniques.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FOUR DIMENSIONAL SOFT TISSUE NAVIGATION
A surgical instrument navigation system is provided that visually simulates a virtual volumetric scene of a body cavity of a patient from a point of view of a surgical instrument residing in the cavity of the patient. The surgical instrument navigation system includes: a surgical instrument; an imaging device which is operable to capture scan data representative of an internal region of interest within a given patient; a tracking subsystem that employs electro-magnetic sensing to capture in real-time position data indicative of the position of the surgical instrument; a data processor which is operable to render a volumetric, perspective image of the internal region of interest from a point of view of the surgical instrument; and a display which is operable to display the volumetric perspective image of the patient.
SPINAL ENDOSCOPE WITH NOVEL ELONGATE RIGID TUBE
The present disclosure provides a spinal endoscope comprising an imaging device and an elongate rigid tube coupled to the imaging device, wherein the tube receives therein: a lens coupled to the imaging device to allow observation of a tissue; at least one irrigation channel to allow injection of a cleaning liquid to secure a view for surgery; a working channel to allow passage of a surgery-tool therethrough to a target location, and an optical fiber to allow irradiation of light beams, the spinal endoscope being characterized in that the working channel includes a first portion with a circular arc cross-sectional shape face-contacting and partially corresponding to an inner circumference of the elongate rigid tube, and a second portion with a linear cross-sectional shape, wherein the second portion connects both ends of the first portion.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING MATERIAL FROM WITHIN A MAMMALIAN CAVITY USING AN INSERTABLE ENDOSCOPIC INSTRUMENT
An endoscope for removing tissue at a surgical site includes an elongated tubular body insertable within a mammalian cavity of a patient. An instrument channel extends between a first opening at a distal end and a second opening at a proximal end of the tubular body and is sized and configured to receive a surgical cutting assembly that includes an aspiration channel configured to remove material entering the endoscope via a distal end of the surgical cutting assembly. A torque generation component configured to generate torque is positioned within the distal end and configured to provide the generated torque to a coupling component. The coupling component is positioned at the distal end of the elongated tubular member and configured to actuate a cutting component of the surgical cutting assembly responsive to actuation of the torque generation component.
Laryngoscope and intubation methods
In one aspect, this disclosure relates to a laryngoscope having a channel for delivering an endotracheal tube to the trachea and its placement under continuous visualization by a camera and with controlled suction. The laryngoscope may further comprise one or more additional channels, including a suction and camera channel. In another aspect, this disclosure relates to medical systems comprising one of laryngoscopes according to this disclosure and one or more of adapters, tools and/or cameras.
