In some embodiments, the ingestible device includes a sensing unit with an axial optical sensing sub-unit located proximal to at least one end of the device, and a radial optical sensing sub-unit located proximal to a radial wall of the device, and may autonomously identify a location within the gastrointestinal tract. In some embodiments, the ingestible device includes optical illumination sources and detectors that operate at a plurality of different wavelengths, and may discern regions of a gastrointestinal tract by using the reflection properties of organ tissue and occasional particulates. In some embodiments, the ingestible device may sample fluid or release medicament based on a detected device location.
Oral Examination Device
An oral examination device including a lip shield, a nipple, and a camera. The lip shield defines a front side and back side. The nipple extends from the front side of lip shield. The nipple defines an interior cavity with an opening to the interior cavity provided from the rear of the lip shield. The camera is positioned in the interior cavity of the nipple.
Minimally invasive surgical system
A patient-side support system includes a base, a platform movably coupled to the base, manipulator assemblies coupled to the platform, instruments, each of the instruments being coupled to a different one of the manipulator assemblies, each of the instruments including a body and a shaft extending from the body, and a guide tube common to the instruments. A first part of the shaft of each individual one of the instruments extends distally from the guide tube to the body. a second part of the shaft of each individual one of the instruments extends through at least a portion of the guide tube. The first part of the shaft of a first instrument of the instruments is articulatable between the body of the first instrument and the guide tube. The guide tube and the instruments are collectively rotatable about a longitudinal axis of the guide tube.
Method, system and speculum-free optical probe for optical assessment of cervix, and applications of same
A method for identification of biochemical markers associated with cervical remodeling over the course of pregnancy of humans includes obtaining Raman signals from the cervix of each of a group of humans with pregnancy at each phase of pregnancy; finding Raman signatures corresponding to each type of cervical tissue from the obtained Raman signals; and identifying biochemical markers associated with cervical remodeling at each phase of pregnancy corresponding to the Raman signatures.
Fluorescence imaging with minimal area monolithic image sensor
Systems, methods, and devices for fluorescence imaging with a minimal area image sensor are disclosed. A system includes an emitter for emitting pulses of electromagnetic radiation and an image sensor comprising a pixel array for sensing reflected electromagnetic radiation, wherein the pixel array comprises active pixels and optical black pixels. The system includes a black clamp circuit providing offset control for data generated by the pixel array and a controller comprising a processor in electrical communication with the image sensor and the emitter. The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength from about 795 nm to about 815 nm.
Biosignal acquisition device and system, method for acquisition of biosignals
Disclosed is a biosignal acquisition device for the acquisition, in particular the concurrent or simultaneous acquisition, of optical and electrical biosignals. The optical and electrical biosignals are both received by an analog front end device for biosignals, with an opto-electric converter for converting the optical biosignals into electrical signals. Also disclosed are a system of a plurality of biosignal acquisition devices and a biosignal acquisition method.
Spiral biopsy device
A biopsy device is proposed comprising a shaft and a tubular member. The shaft is movably, i.e. rotatably as well as shiftably accommodated within the tubular member and comprises a spiral at a distal end portion of the shaft, wherein the spiral is formed by a twisted sheet. Such a spiral may be considered as a laterally open thread having no solid core.
NON-FIBER FLAT-PANEL BREAST DIFFUSION OPTICAL TOMOGRAPHY SYSTEM
A breast diffusion optical tomography (DOT) device includes a light source, a detector, a mechanical driver and a contour acquisitor without using optical fiber and reduce the system complexity. The light source includes M1 number of multi-wavelength near-infrared light emitters for a continuous-wave mode and M2 number of laser diodes of different wavelengths for a frequency-domain mode. The detector includes N1 number of silicon photomultipliers for detecting near-infrared light in the continuous-wave mode and N2 number of silicon photomultipliers for detecting near-infrared light in the frequency-domain mode. The mechanical driver adjusts a distance between the light source and the detector. The contour acquisitor obtains the geometry of a patient's breast for reconstruction. The DOT device uses amplitude and phase information obtained in the frequency-domain mode to estimate initial optical parameters of tissues and then apply for reconstruction in the continuous-wave mode.
IMAGING SYSTEM
An imaging system includes: an imaging device including an image sensor provided with an electronic shutter function, the imaging device being configured to capture a subject; a light source configured to emit illumination light for illuminating the subject; an identification unit configured to identify which one of a first light source and a second light source configured to emit light having a wavelength bandwidth different from a wavelength bandwidth of the first light source is employed as the light source used for observation; an electronic shutter controller configured to control the electronic shutter function of the image sensor based on a control pattern according to the classification of the light source identified by the identification unit; and an electronic shutter control pattern setting unit configured to set a control pattern of the electronic shutter function in accordance with the classification of the light source identified by the identification unit.
