Passive tunable integrated circuit (PTIC) and related methods
A passive tunable integrated circuit (PTIC) includes a semiconductor die (die) having a plurality of barium strontium titanate (BST) tunable capacitors. The plurality of BST tunable capacitors collectively define a capacitative area of the die. At least one electrical contact is electrically coupled with the plurality of BST tunable capacitors. A redistribution layer electrically couples the at least one electrical contact with at least one electrically conductive contact pad (contact pad). The at least one contact pad is located over the capacitative area. A bump electrically couples with the at least one contact pad and is located over the capacitative area. An electrically insulative layer couples between each contact pad of the PTIC and the plurality of BST tunable capacitors.
ELECTRONIC COMPONENT WITH LID TO MANAGE RADIATION FEEDBACK
The disclosure is directed to an electronic device with a lid to manage radiation feedback. The electronic device includes a lid having at least one sidewall and a top wall, as well as a semiconductor positioned within a cavity of the lid. In certain embodiments, the lid includes at least one dielectric material and at least one internal conductive layer at least partially embedded within the at least one dielectric material. In certain embodiments, the lid includes dielectric material, as well as an internal wall extending from the top wall and positioned between an input port and an output port of the semiconductor. Such configurations may suppress any undesirable feedback through the lid between the input port and the output port of the semiconductor.
SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE FOR RF INTEGRATED CIRCUIT
In order to reduce costs as well as to effectively dissipate heat in certain RF circuits, a semiconductor device of the circuit can include one or more active devices such as transistors, diodes, and/or varactors formed of a first semiconductor material system integrated onto (e.g., bonded to) a base substrate formed of a second semiconductor material system that includes other circuit components. The first semiconductor material system can, for example, be the III-V or III-N semiconductor system, and the second semiconductor material system can, for example be silicon.
SKEW MATCHING IN A DIE-TO-DIE INTERFACE
A semiconductor package for skew matching in a die-to-die interface, including: a first die; a second die aligned with the first die such that each connection point of a first plurality of connection points of the first die is substantially equidistant to a corresponding connection point of a second plurality of connection points of the second die; and a plurality of connection paths of a substantially same length, wherein each connection path of the plurality of connection paths couples a respective connection point of the first plurality of connection points to the corresponding connection point of the second plurality of connection points.
IPD COMPONENTS HAVING SIC SUBSTRATES AND DEVICES AND PROCESSES IMPLEMENTING THE SAME
A transistor device includes a metal submount; a transistor die arranged on said metal submount; at least one integrated passive device (IPD) component that includes a substrate arranged on said metal submount; and one or more interconnects extending between the transistor die and the at least one integrated passive device (IPD) component. The substrate includes a silicon carbide (SiC) substrate.
MULTI-TYPED INTEGRATED PASSIVE DEVICE (IPD) COMPONENTS AND DEVICES AND PROCESSES IMPLEMENTING THE SAME
A transistor device includes a metal submount; a transistor die arranged on said metal submount; a first integrated passive device (IPD) component that includes a first substrate arranged on said metal submount; and a second integrated passive device (IPD) component that includes a second substrate arranged on the metal submount. Additionally, the first substrate is a different material from the second substrate.
Packaged electronic circuits having moisture protection encapsulation and methods of forming same
A packaged electronic circuit includes a substrate having an upper surface, a first metal layer on the upper surface of the substrate, a first polymer layer on the first metal layer opposite the substrate, a second metal layer on the first polymer layer opposite the first metal layer, a dielectric layer on the first polymer layer and at least a portion of the second metal layer and a second polymer layer on the dielectric layer.
Switch body connections to achieve soft breakdown
Devices and methods for switch body connections to achieve soft breakdown. In some embodiments, a field-effect transistor (FET) can include an assembly of source, gate, and drain implemented on an active region, a first body contact implemented at a first end of the assembly, and a second body contact implemented at a second end of the assembly. The second end can be distal from the first end along a width of the field-effect transistor.
INTEGRATED CIRCUITS AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING
A technique for making high performance low noise amplifiers, low cost high performance RF, microwave circuits and other devices by using a minimum of costly high performance semiconductors is described. By combining a single discrete portion of an expensive semiconductor with a less expensive GaAs carrier, MMIC devices with improved performance over their discrete counterparts are achieved.
