APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING A BREATH SAMPLE
Apparatuses and methods for collecting a breath sample are provided. A breath input interface is configured to receive exhaled breath. A conduit system extends from the breath input interface and is configured to receive a breath sample storage device at a first end thereof. A storage device valve is positioned on the conduit system towards the first end thereof. At least one controller is configured to open the storage device valve before the breath sample storage device is connected to the first end of the conduit system to allow breath received via the breath input interface to fill the conduit system between the breath input interface and the storage device valve, and subsequently close the storage device valve prior to connection of the breath sample storage device to the conduit system.
Photoacoustic imaging apparatus
This optoacoustic imaging device is provided with: a light source part for irradiating an object to be inspected with light; an ultrasonic vibrator for detecting an acoustic wave generated from a subject to be detected in the object to be inspected which has absorbed the light emitted from the light source part; and a detecting part disposed in a probe body and including an acoustic lens disposed closer to the tip side of the probe body than the ultrasonic vibrator, wherein the acoustic lens is configured to have a light absorbance of 1-30% and a light reflectance of less than 85% with respect to light which has a wavelength band of 650-1000 nm and is emitted from the light source part.
Apparatus and method for collecting a breath sample using an air circulation system
An apparatus and method for collecting a breath sample are provided. The apparatus has a breath input interface configured to receive exhaled breath, a first conduit system connected to the breath input interface, a valve configured to control fluid communication between the first conduit system and at least one breath sample storage device configured to store a breath sample, an air circulation system configured to circulate air through the first conduit system upon completion of a first received exhaled breath, and at least one controller configured to control the valve upon completion of the first received exhaled breath at least partially based on a humidity level in the first conduit system.

Exhaled breath condensate collector
An exhaled breath condensate collection device (10) is described. The device includes a condensation chamber (12) having an inlet and an outlet and arranged such that breath exhaled from the lungs of a user flows through the condensation chamber from the inlet to the outlet; at least one cooling element (16); and a frame (18) supporting the condensation chamber and the at least one cooling element. The frame (18) is movable between a first configuration in which the at least one cooling element is operable to cool the condensation chamber so as to promote the formation of breath condensate in the condensation chamber, and a second configuration in which the cooling element is displaced from the condensation chamber so as to encourage condensate to flow into a collection region in fluid communication with the condensation chamber. To be accompanied by FIG. 5.
