20230025497 · 2023-01-26 ·

Embodiments herein relate to devices and methods for measuring cardiogenic airway modulations using optical sensing. In an embodiment, an optical cardiogenic modulation monitoring device can be included having an optical emitter configured to emit light at a first wavelength and an optical detector configured to detect incident light. The monitoring device can be configured so that light emitted from the optical emitter propagates through lung tissue. The monitoring device can also be configured to use detected incident light to measure cardiogenic oscillations of the lung tissue. Other embodiments are also included herein.

BIO-SENSOR SYSTEM FOR MONITORING TISSUE VIBRATION

A headset comprise a frame and a vibration sensor coupled to the frame. The vibration sensor may be located in a nosepad of the frame, and configured to measure tissue vibrations of a user when the headset of worn by the user. A controller receives a signal corresponding to the measured vibration data from the vibration sensor, and analyzes the received signal to infer a sequence of states of the received signal, such as a sequence of respiratory states. The controller further determines a value of a health metric based upon the inferred sequence of states, e.g., a respiratory rate of the user, and performs an action using the determined value of the health metric.

SKULL-CONTOURED MRI LOCALIZER

An example apparatus includes a shell portion configured to be worn over a head of a subject. The shell portion defines a plurality of apertures. The apparatus also includes a plurality of spherical fiducial structures disposed on the shell portion. Each of the fiducial structures includes a first material doped with a second material. The second material is a contrast agent for magnetic resource imaging (MRI). The apparatus also includes a mounting structure disposed on the shell portion and configured to secure the shell portion to the head of the subject.

Hearing assistance device incorporating virtual audio interface for therapy guidance

A hearing assistance device adapted to be worn by a wearer comprises a processor configured to generate a sequence of audio cues that audibly guide the wearer through a series of actions involving the wearer's head and neck in accordance with a predetermined corrective or therapeutic maneuver. A speaker is configured to play back the sequence of audio cues for reception by the wearer. One or more sensors are configured to sense movement of the head during each of the actions. The processor is configured to determine if head movement for an action associated with each audio cue has been correctly executed by the wearer, and produce an output indicative of successful or unsuccessful execution of the actions by the wearer.

Personal impact monitoring system

A personal impact monitoring system is described herein comprising a monitoring station that receives impact events sent from personal impact monitors using a monitoring station receiver. The impact events which specify impact parameters associated with the impact events are stored in a data storage location associated with the monitoring station. Software operating on the operating station is configured to receive the impact events from the data storage location and to perform calculations based on the impact events to identify notable impact events.

EXAMINATION DEVICE AND EYE EXAMINATION METHOD

The invention relates to an examination device (1), a method for an automated examination of at least one eye (4, 4′) of a person, a computer program product and the various uses of the examination device (1).

POSITION VARIATIONS OF THE LENSES OF AN EYEWEAR EQUIPMENT

A method for determining a position variation of an eyewear equipment worn by a wearer includes obtaining reference data representing a reference position of an eyewear equipment worn by the wearer, the eyewear equipment including at least one ophthalmic lens and a frame on which the at least one ophthalmic lens is mounted, determining at least one reference position parameter indicative of a reference position of the eyewear equipment on the face of the wearer based on the reference data, obtaining current data representing a current position of the eyewear equipment worn by the wearer, determining at least one current position parameter indicative of a current position of the eyewear equipment in front of the eyes of the wearer based on the current data, and comparing the reference and current positions parameters to determine a position variation of the eyewear equipment worn by the wearer.

DETERMINING DIFFERENT SLEEP STAGES IN A WEARABLE MEDICAL DEVICE PATIENT

A patient monitoring device configured to monitor cardiac activity and sleep stage information of a patient is provided. The device includes a plurality of electrodes to acquire electrocardiogram (ECG) signals from the patient, at least one motion sensor configured to generate a motion signal based upon movement of the patient, and at least one processor. The processor is configured derive motion parameters from the motion signal, derive ECG parameters from the ECG signals, determine whether the patient is in an immobilized sleep stage or a non-immobilized sleep stage based upon the motion parameters and the ECG parameters, adjust one or more cardiac arrhythmia detection parameters such that the device operates in a first monitoring and treatment mode when the patient is in an immobilized sleep stage, and monitor the patient for the cardiac arrhythmia using the first monitoring and treatment mode.

A SYSTEM FOR ASSESSING HUMAN MOVEMENT AND BALANCE

Systems and methods for assessing, monitoring, or theranosing a condition or disorder based on a comparison of limb stability for one or more limbs of a subject from a baseline. The method includes placing two or more inertial measurement sensors on the limbs of the subject, acquiring baseline limb excursion data from the inertial measurement sensors while a patient is performing at least one of a static balance activity and a dynamic balance activity by tracking the relative displacement of the respective two or more inertial measurement sensors; acquiring post-injury limb excursion data after an injury from the inertial measurement sensors while a patient is performing at least one of a static balance activity and a dynamic balance activity; and determining the activity clearance index as a function of a comparison of the baseline limb excursion data compared to the post-injury limb excursion data.

DISCHARGE RISK AND MANAGEMENT

A method comprising receiving an input indicating intake information associated with a patient. Based on the input, the method further includes determining an initial discharge date and receiving mobility information associated with the patient. Based in part on the mobility information, the method further includes determining an estimated discharge date and a confidence metric associated with the estimated discharge date, determining that the estimated discharge date is later than the initial discharge date by more than a threshold period of time, and determining that the confidence metric is greater than a threshold metric. Based in part on the estimated discharge date being later than the initial discharge date by more than the threshold period of time and the confidence metric being greater than the threshold metric, the method further includes generating an alert.
