Systems and methods for testing a medical device

An ambulatory medical device comprises: a sensing component to be disposed on a patient for detecting a physiological signal of the patient; and monitoring and self-test circuitry configured for detecting a triggering event and initiating one or more self-tests based on detection of the triggering event. The ambulatory medical device senses the physiological signal of the patient substantially continuously over an extended period of time.

PRIVACY-PRESERVING RADAR-BASED FALL MONITORING

Various arrangements for performing fall detection are presented. A smart-home device (110, 201), comprising a monolithic radar integrated circuit (205), may transmit radar waves. Based on reflected radar waves, raw waveform data may be created. The raw waveform data may be processed to determine that a fall by a person (101) has occurred. Speech may then be output announcing that the fall has been detected via the speaker (217) of the smart home device (110, 201).

DETECTION OF PHYSICAL ABUSE OR NEGLECT USING DATA FROM EAR-WEARABLE DEVICES

A system may obtain a set of features characterizing a segment of inertial measurement unit (IMU) data generated by an IMU of an ear-wearable device. The system may apply a machine learning model (MLM) that takes the features characterizing the segment of the IMU data as input. The system may determine, based on output values produced by the MLM, whether a user of the ear-wearable device has potentially been subject to physical abuse. The system may then perform an action in response to determining that the user of the ear-wearable device has potentially been subject to physical abuse.

Blood pressure monitor attachment assembly

A blood pressure monitor configured to removably mount to a cuff in a substantially symmetrical position with respect to a width of the cuff can include a housing defining an interior, a first port, and a second port. The first port can: secure to a first prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in a first orientation; receive and secure to a second prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in a second orientation; and enable fluid communication between the interior and at least one of a first fluid passage within the first prong and a second fluid passage within the second prong. The second port can: secure to the second prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in the first orientation; and receive and secure to the first prong of the cuff when the cuff is mounted in the second orientation.

A system for endurance testing including: at least one sensor configured to collect data associated with an individual's movement for an endurance test; an action module configured to determine endurance movements from the collected data and determine a set of test action; and an analysis module configured to analyze the set of test actions to provide a result for the endurance test. A method for endurance testing including: collecting data associated with an individual's movement, via at least one sensor; determining endurance movements from the collected data; determining a set of test action from the endurance movements; analyzing the set of test actions; and providing results associated with the endurance test based on the analyzed set of test actions.

A vitals monitoring handcuff apparatus comprising a housing structure that is adapted to be coupled with a set of handcuffs and to contain a plurality of modules and units; a first module that is located within the housing structure and adapted to measure a wearer's heartrate via a sensor; a second module that is located within the housing structure and is adapted to measure the wearer's respiration rate via a sensor; a controller unit that is located within the housing structure, is configured to relay instructional programs to the modules and units which causes the modules and units to operate, and the controller unit receives data from the modules and inputs that data into associated algorithms that produce corresponding output signals; a communication unit that is located within the housing structure and receives the output signals from the controller unit and is adapted to relay the output signals to a user; and a rechargeable power unit located within the housing structure that is accessed by a port on an exterior of the housing structure, provides power to the vitals monitoring handcuff apparatus's other modules and units, and having a receiver which connects with an exterior power source via the port.

System and method for through window personal cloud transmission

A radio frequency (RF) front end device has a signal traveling from a first antenna to a second antenna in an uplink path and a signal traveling from a third antenna to a fourth antenna in a downlink path. The device is under the control of automatic on/off controller (AOOC) which upon receiving a signal indication from a receive signal detector and amplifier (RSDA) turns on the operations of power amplifier (PA) and simultaneously turns off a low noise amplifier (LNA). This LNA is turned off when the power amplifier is turned on to prevent uplink path and downlink path forming a feedback loop which would result in oscillation, noise and interference.

SECONDARY VESTIBULAR SYSTEM FALL PREVENTATIVE DEVICE
20230218200 · 2023-07-13 ·

A wearable fall prevention device and method including at least one gyroscope, an actuator, a pressure applicator, and a controller. The at least one gyroscope is configured to detect and signal to a controller when a user's movement and/or orientation surpasses a specified threshold. The controller receives the signal from the at least one gyroscope and generates an actuation signal received by the at least one actuator, activating the at least one pressure applicator. The at least one pressure applicator is adapted to come into contact with the user's neck and vagus nerves at a specified pressure. When the at least one gyroscope detects a user has dropped below the specified threshold, the at least one gyroscope sends a signal to the controller, generating an actuation signal that deactivates the at least one actuator and disengages the at least one pressure applicator from the user's neck and vagus nerves.

Falls risk management

Automatically gathering and processing data relating to risk of patient falls. The data is analyzed to determine a level of risk each patient has for falling. Patient risk for falls is stratified and protocols are implemented to mitigate that risk. The system communicates instructions and alerts to caregivers to complete tasks or provide aid to patients. Updates to patient medical information and updates to best practices in fall risk management result in updates to patient risk stratifications. In turn, tasks and alerts are updated to reflect updates to patient risk stratifications.
