Fiber-based composite with fracture-induced mechano-electrical sensitivity

Fracture-induced composite sensors and methods of their fabrication are disclosed. The sensors can be used as strain sensors, piezo-resistive sensors, piezo-capacitive sensors, and non-contact displacement wearable sensors.

STROKE SCALE ASSESSMENT

A stroke scale system includes a patient support apparatus having one or more pressure sensors that can be grasped by a patient, one or more motion detectors that detect movements of the patient, a display unit, an audio unit; and a controller. The stroke scale system performs a series of stroke scale examinations. At least one stroke scale examination instructs the patient to grasp a portion of the patient support apparatus, and the pressure sensors determine compliance with the instructions by measuring an applied pressure to the portion of the patient support apparatus. The stroke scale system calculates a stroke scale score by combining scores determined from the series of stroke scale examinations.

HAND REHABILITATION EXERCISE DEVICE

The present disclosure relates to a hand rehabilitation exercise device, including: a finger movement sensing sensor sensing a movement of a finger; and a finger worn unit to which the finger movement sensing sensor is attached/detached, and worn on the finger.

ACTIVITY ANALYSIS SYSTEM USING ADAPTIVE NAIL CLIPPERS

An activity analysis system includes a body with a spring like flexible structure, a light at the tip used for people with low vision, a battery compartment required for the light battery to operate, upper and lower cutting surfaces performing the nail cutting process, a ring area of the clipper that is required in order to be worn by the finger, a magnifying glass to be installed optionally, a sensor detecting the temperature of the fingers, movements of flexion, extension, rotation, limitations of joints, gripping strength, and sensory mapping of the strength points, a right sensor and a left sensor, a wristband with GPS, a connection element enabling the connection between left and right sensors that are located on the wristband and the sensor on the nail clippers, and a computer which gathers the analysis results obtained from the sensors.

System and Method for Detecting Handwriting Problems

A method for detecting handwriting problem, comprising: acquiring, by a handwriting instrument comprising one motion sensor, motion data while a user is using the handwriting instrument, analyzing the motion data by an artificial intelligence trained to detect a handwriting problem.

The invention concerns a device for quantifying the dexterity of the fingers of a hand, comprising a main body, several systems for measuring the movement and/or the force applied by a finger in a pressure direction, each system for measuring comprising a sensor for deformation, the sensor for deformation comprising a deformable body, characterized in that each system for measuring also comprises a guide bearing, integral with the main body, a shaft having a bearing surface, the bearing surface being in contact with the deformable body, a tube, adapted to slide in translation in the guide bearing and around the shaft in the pressure direction, having a head adapted to fix the finger to the tube, a first spring connecting the bearing to the tube, a second spring connecting the shaft to the tube, the first spring and the second spring being pre-tensioned, so as to pre-tension the deformable body.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING HANDWRITING PROBLEMS

A system for detecting handwriting problems may include a handwriting instrument including a body extending longitudinally between a first end and a second end, the first end having a writing tip which is able to write on a support, the handwriting instrument further including at least one motion sensor configured to acquire data on the handwriting of the user when a user is using the handwriting instrument, and one calculating unit communicating with the motion sensor and configured to analyze the data by an artificial intelligence trained to detect whether the user has handwriting problems.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR DETECTING INDIVIDUAL HEALTH RELATED EVENTS

Individual health related events (e.g., handwashing events) can be detected based on multiple sensors including motion and audio sensors. Detecting a qualifying handwashing event can include detecting a qualifying scrubbing event based on motion data (e.g., accelerometer data) and a qualifying rinsing event based on audio data. In some examples, power consumption can be reduced by implementing one or more power saving mitigations.
