CORD BLOOD COLLECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD OF OPERATION
A cord blood collection system is provided. The system includes a housing having an upper portion and a lower portion, the upper portion and lower portion defining a hollow interior. A peristaltic pump is disposed within the lower portion, the peristaltic pump having an input portion and an output portion. A reel member is disposed in the upper portion. A tubing member is movably coupled to the reel member, the tubing member being operably coupled to the peristaltic pump, the first end being configured to couple with a container, the second end being configured to couple with a needle.
A CANNULATION ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A cannulation assembly comprising: a housing; a needle selectively extendable from a proximal end of said housing; a tube arranged to pass through the housing and through a bore of said needle such that an insertion end of said tube is arranged to selectively project from an insertion end of said needle; a slide mounted to the needle in sliding engagement with the housing and arranged to move the needle from a retracted position to an insertion position such that the needle projects from said housing; wherein said slide is further arranged to move the needle from the insertion position to a locked position such that the needle is fully retracted.
Cord collection clamp
The present disclosure provides an apparatus, and methods of using same, for collecting blood from an umbilical cord in a sterile environment that includes an umbilical cord retaining assembly and a blood collection assembly rotatably connected to the umbilical cord retaining assembly. A cord cutting blade, which is carried by the blood collection assembly, functions to cut the umbilical cord when the blood collection assembly is rotated relative to the umbilical cord retaining assembly. After the umbilical cord is cut, blood flows by force of gravity into the blood collection region of the blood collection assembly to which a blood collection bag can be interconnected.
DEVICE FOR INTRODUCING AND MAINTAINING A PORT IN AN UMBILICAL VESSEL
The present invention relates to devices and processes for introducing and maintaining a port in an umbilical vessel and uses thereof. Further the invention relates to kits comprising said device and the uses thereof.
System and method for measuring fluidics in arteries
An apparatus for performing measurements in an artery includes a Doppler catheter, comprising a Doppler transducer and a wire connected to the Doppler transducer; and an elongated catheter body having a conduit therein for housing the wire of the Doppler catheter. The body has a proximal end and a distal end; wherein the wire is movable in the conduit relative to the catheter body so that the Doppler transducer and the wire are capable of being threaded into said conduit at the proximal end after the distal end of the catheter has been inserted into the artery, until the Doppler transducer emerges outside the conduit at the distal end of said body for performing ultrasound measurements in the artery. Another embodiment employs at least an additional side transducer for measuring the cross-sectional dimension of the artery useful for computing blood flow.
Coextruded plastic capillary tube
Coextruded plastic capillary tube and method of manufacturing a coextruded tube for collecting a volume of liquid. The tube is disposable, inexpensive to manufacture and can reliably draw blood and other aqueous based fluids into the tube by capillary action, at a fluid uptake level comparable to glass and other commercially pre-treated plastic tubes, without requiring further interior coating.

Kit for preserving a biological product including a three-dimensional bag and a matching three-dimensional casing
The invention relates to a kit for preserving a biological product including a three-dimensional bag (1) intended for holding said biological product, said bag (1) having a substantially constant three-dimensional geometry during the use thereof, as well as a casing (2) intended for packing said bag, said casing (2) including a cavity (3) arranged such as to receive said bag (1), said cavity (3) having a substantially constant three-dimensional geometry during the use thereof, and a slot (4) being provided along one edge of said cavity such as to enable said bag (1) to be inserted in said cavity (3), a front strip (5) and a rear strip (6) extending on the outside away from said slot (4), said strips being intended for being combined with one another in order to provide an airtight seal of said cavity (3) of the casing (2).
Integrated fiber optic sensor umbilical catheter
Embodiments described herein relate to a catheter configured to detect at least one blood gas parameter present in blood in an artery of a patient, including, but not limited to, a catheter wall forming at least one lumen configured for umbilical arterial catheterization, at least one optical fiber incorporated in the catheter wall, wherein the at least one optical fiber is configured to detected the at least one blood gas parameter.
