Biological Fluid Collection Device and Biological Fluid Collection System
20210128038 · 2021-05-06 ·

A biological fluid collection device that is adapted to receive a blood sample is disclosed. The biological fluid collection device includes a housing, a puncturing element transitionable between a pre-actuated position wherein the puncturing element is retained within the housing and a puncturing position wherein at least a portion of the puncturing element extends through the housing, and a cartridge removably connectable to a portion of the housing. After collecting a blood sample, the cartridge is removable from the housing and the cartridge is able to transfer the blood sample to a point-of-care testing device. The biological fluid collection device provides a closed system that reduces the exposure of a blood sample and provides fast mixing of a blood sample with a sample stabilizer.

Biological Fluid Collection System

A biological fluid collection system that includes a power source for a collection module that receives a sample and provides flow-through blood stabilization technology and a precise sample dispensing function for point-of-care and near patient testing applications is disclosed.

Blood Sampling Transfer Device

A blood sampling transfer device that includes a lancing tape having a flow channel and a transfer cartridge removably connected to the lancing tape is disclosed. The blood sampling transfer device provides a closed system that reduces the exposure of a blood sample to both skin and environment and provides fast mixing of a blood sample with a sample stabilizer.

DEVICES AND METHODS FOR MAKING THERAPEUTIC FLUIDS

Devices and methods for extracting and concentrating therapeutically active factors from mammalian fluids and tissues are described herein.

SAMPLE COLLECTION DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXTRACTING AND COLLECTING A SAMPLE OF A FLUID OF A USER
20210137435 · 2021-05-13 ·

A sample collection device for collecting a blood sample of a patient, the sample collection device including a first partially deformable shell and a second at least partially pierceable shell with a pre-packaged vacuum sealed between the first shell and the second shell. The second shell may additionally hold a sample container and an automatic mechanical cutting mechanism including a rotatable cutting blade and an actuator spring, the actuator spring being actuatable by pressing the first shell, thereby releasing and rotating the cutting blade. By pressing the first shell, the pre-packaged vacuum is released to a collection opening of the second shell such that the vacuum effects a suction effect so that blood coming out of the incision created by the rotatable cutting blade leaks into the sample container.

CVC LINE BLOOD DRAWING METHOD

A method of exchanging fluids through a CVC hub includes a base member with a plurality of ports for the acceptance of a syringe. A top member is rotatably coupled to the base member such that the base member and its associated syringes are configured to rotated relative to the top member. An attachment device is included in communication with the top member. The attachment device releasably coupled directly to the CVC hub. The syringes are selectively engaged with an internal seat in the top member and brought into fluid communication with the attachment device and corresponding CVC hub. Fluids may be exchanged or passed through the attachment device and the syringes from the patient's body.

EXTENSION SET FOR IMPROVING PATENCY OF A VASCULAR ACCESS DEVICE
20210212618 · 2021-07-15 ·

An extension set is configured to improve patency of a vascular access device. An extension set may include a probe that can be selectively advanced through a vascular access device to which the extension set is connected. The extension set may include an integrated device, or may be configured to receive a device, for collecting blood from or injecting a fluid into a patient's vasculature. Because the probe can be selectively advanced into the patient's vasculature, a blood collection or fluid injection can be performed via the vascular access device even when an occlusion has formed that is blocking the fluid pathway through the vascular access device.

FLUID COLLECTION DEVICE AND RELATED METHODS

Articles and methods for collecting and/or facilitating transfer of fluids are generally provided. In some embodiments, an article comprises a fluid collection region for introducing a fluid, such as a sample (e.g., blood sample) or a reagent, into a fluidic system. The articles and methods described herein may be useful for facilitating the filling of relatively small channels with a fluid, such as channels of a microfluidic device. The articles and methods may, for example, interface with a patient sample (e.g., a droplet of blood), or with a macroscopic fluid source such as a pipette or syringe. In certain embodiments, articles and methods described herein may increase the ease of collecting a fluidic sample from a patient, prevent or reduce spillage of the fluidic sample, reduce contamination of a fluidic sample, and/or prevent or reduce air from entering a fluidic sample or device compared to certain existing fluid collection devices.
