Analyte sensor devices, connections, and methods

Devices associated with on-body analyte sensor units are disclosed. These devices include any of packaging and/or loading systems, applicators and elements of the on-body sensor units themselves. Also, various approaches to connecting electrochemical analyte sensors to and/or within associated on-body analyte sensor units are disclosed. The connector approaches variously involve the use of unique sensor and ancillary element arrangements to facilitate assembly of separate electronics assemblies and sensor elements that are kept apart until the end user brings them together.

Devices and methods for diagnosing and administering drug overdose countermeasure. In some embodiments, a device includes a analyzer with a decision support application electronically connected to a drug of abuse detection device and a non-invasive blood gas device that support specific identification of drugs of abuse within a patient's system. In some embodiments, a method includes inputting patient demographics into the analyzer, inputting a patient's saliva, blood, and/or urine sample into the drug of abuse detection device, operatively affixing a non-invasive blood gas device to a patient, and administering a proper countermeasure dosage analyzer to the patient experiencing drug overdose.

Glucose monitoring device in a protective smartphone case

A smartphone protective cover that houses a glucose monitor, test strips, lancets, a lancet striker, a power source, and a biohazard debris receptacle is presented. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the protective covering is configured to include a smartphone adapted glucose monitor and also to accept a smartphone. In the preferred embodiment, the smartphone is removably placed into the protective covering with the glucose monitor connecting to a data receptacle on the smartphone. The protective cover further includes a lancet storage compartment adjacent to a lancet striker having a tension control member and striker release button, a test strip storage compartment, and a biohazard debris receptacle. The lancet storage compartment and test strip storage compartment can be re-Tillable or disposable. A battery is also located in the cover and is electrically connected to the glucose for monitor, thus enabling the monitor to be powered independently of the phone. A method of use is also provided.

WASTE TUBE CARTRIDGE FOR PHLEBOTOMY
20210282683 · 2021-09-16 ·

A cartridge is designed to secure and position a waste tube during a blood draw operation. The cartridge includes a T-shaped body with a tubular central portion and one or more gripping flanges. The tubular central portion has an open first end and an elongated cavity elongated cavity that is sized and shaped to receive the waste tube through the open first end. The one or more gripping flanges are attached to a second end of the tubular central portion opposite the first end and extend out away from the tubular central portion in a plane substantially perpendicular to elongated cavity. The cartridge further includes a plunger mechanism affixed to the T-shaped body. The plunger mechanism includes a stem adapted to slide into the cavity through the second end of tubular central portion responsive to an applied external force to eject the waste tube from the cavity through the open first end of the cavity.

Sterile transport, storage, and operation of fluid collection tubes in platelet-rich fibrin and platelet-rich plasma procedures. Sterile sample tube packages comprise a tray having a recessed cavity formed therein, one or more fluid collection tubes, and a cover. Each cavity houses a tube. A practitioner accesses a tube without contaminating the remaining tubes.

Articles and methods for preparing a surface for obtaining a patent sample

Articles and methods for preparing a surface for obtaining a patient sample, such as blood, are generally provided. In some embodiments, the methods involve wiping a surface of skin of a patient in preparation for obtaining a sample (e.g., a blood sample) from the patient. In some embodiments, the methods involve wiping the surface of the skin with two or more wipes. For instance, the surface of the skin may be wiped with a first wipe comprising a surfactant and a second wipe comprising an antiseptic solution. Advantageously, the use of a first wipe including a surfactant followed by a second wipe may remove a higher amount of certain contaminants (e.g., proteins, bacteria, viruses) from the surface of the skin as compared to the use of a single wipe or by hand-washing alone.
