LANCET DEVICE WITH FLEXIBLE COVER
The biological test kit is a device for drawing and, optionally, testing biological samples. The biological test kit is an array of lancets set in wells in a rigid base. Each lancet well is covered by a protective cover which when deformed permits the lancet to puncture a user or other patient. In one embodiment the biological test kit employs distinct covers for each lancet and in another the covers are formed from sheet material formed into blisters which cover the lancet.
CAPILLARY COLLECTOR WITH ROTATABLE CONNECTION
A device for obtaining a blood sample, the device including a holder for receiving a sample source, the holder having an actuation portion and a port, a container engagement portion connected to the holder, and a collection container removably connectable to the container engagement portion, the container defining a collection cavity, wherein the container engagement portion allows the collection container to rotate between a first position in which the collection container is spaced from the port and a second position in which the collection container is in fluid communication with the port.
Fluid handling device having a spring mechanism
A fluid handling device includes a receiving container with a piston arranged therein in a displaceable manner, such that the volume of a fluid receiving reservoir may be changed by a displacement of the piston. In addition, the fluid handling device includes an actuation mechanism configured to displace a carrier bearing upon actuation of the former. Finally, the fluid handling device includes a spring mechanism configured to transfer a force from the carrier bearing to the piston so as to effect, in response to displacement of the carrier bearing in a first direction, a displacement of the piston within the receiving container such that a volume of the fluid reservoir is increased.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR CELL DETECTION
The present disclosure relates to a cartridge, detection module, system, and kit for cell and particle detection and analysis. Devices disclosed herein may include at least an optical source, a fluidic chip, and a detection module, wherein the sample flows within the fluidic chip past a detection window, where the cells or particles are imaged by an image acquisition and analysis module that may include an optical detector. The image acquisition and analysis module may count the cells or particles of interest in real-time, or near real-time, or the module may capture images of the cells in order to analyze the sample from combined images at a later time.
Packaging system for analyte sensors
A system and method are provided for packaging and sterilizing analyte sensors. The packaging system provides a structure for securing the analyte sensors in a fixed position and fixed orientation within the package.
DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR PRESERVING ANALYTES IN BLOOD SAMPLES DURING STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Freshly obtained blood samples are deposited into a device that contains blood sample carriers, each of the carriers is designed to hold a fixed amount of blood and allow excess blood sample to flow through and be discarded. A desiccant within the blood sample carrier aids with the drying of the blood and the discarding of the excess sample blood. The device is stored/transported within a modified atmosphere package comprised of an impermeable sealable bag and an oxygen scavenger compound for removing oxygen from the bag.
Glucose Monitoring Smart Watch
The Diabetic Glucose Monitoring Smart Watch, in conjunction with the “Save a Life, Link a Buddy” smart phone application, is designed for any person with Type I or Type II Diabetes. The smart watch will monitor the blood glucose levels of the wearer through a continuous glucose monitor and will alert the user in real-time if glucose levels reach a danger zone designated by the user during set up. If the wearer is unresponsive to the alert for over 60 seconds, the linked application (“Save a Life, Link a Buddy) will then notify the “buddies” assigned by the user. This alert will appear on the “buddies” phone similar to an Amber-Alert that needs to be turned off manually.
Methods for collecting biological samples for quantifying heavy metals
Disclosed are devices, kits, compositions, and methods for collecting, transporting, and detecting toxicants, pathogens, and biomarkers in a biological sample. The devices, kits, compositions and methods may be utilized to collect and transport dried blood samples from a skin prick and detect toxicants, pathogens, and biomarkers in the dried blood samples.
BLOOD EXAMINATION KIT AND METHOD OF SEPARATING PLASMA OR SERUM
There are provided a blood examination kit with which the procedure carried out by an examination subject is simplified and a method of separating plasma or serum. The blood examination kit includes a blood collection instrument including a diluent and a first container that has an opening formed on one end side and accommodates the diluent; an absorption instrument including a first lid portion member that is arranged on one end side and can seal the opening of the first container, and an absorption member that is arranged on the other end side and absorbs a blood sample; and a separation and sealing instrument including a filtration member that separates plasma or serum from the blood sample diluted with the diluent, a second container that holds the filtration member on the other end side, accommodates the separated plasma or serum, and can be inserted into the first container, a second lid portion member that is arranged on one end side of the second container and can seal the opening of the first container, and a valve member that closes a flow channel between the first container and the second container.
SYSTEM, METHOD, AND APPARATUS FOR REMOTE PATIENT CARE
A portable patient-care kit is disclosed. The kit includes a housing, a plurality of compartments and a touch-screen user interface device. The housing forms a container space. The plurality of compartments is disposed within the container space such that each compartment is configured to retain at least one medical apparatus. The touch-screen user interface device has a transceiver that can communicate via a mobile data network.
