The cartridge may include one or more sampling arrangements, which may be configured to collect a fluid sample from a sampling site. A sampling arrangement may include a skin-penetration member, a hub, and a quantification member.
PROCESSING OF DRIED BLOOD SAMPLES ON LATERAL FLOW PAPER
A grinder (220) is provided for use in a method of processing a piece of lateral flow paper, comprising a grinder body (222) defining a grinder storage volume (226) with a top opening for accessing the grinder storage volume and one or more through holes (228) providing a fluid connection through the grinder body into the grinder storage volume, wherein the grinder body further comprises one or more grinding protrusions (229) at an outer surface of the grinder body. Furthermore, a sample container (200) is provided for storing a blood sample provided on a piece of lateral flow paper, comprising a sample container body with a base part, a cylindrical wall extending from the base part and defining a storage volume with an opening for accessing the storage volume, wherein the base part comprises one or more protrusions (209) extending into the storage volume.
MOBILE MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTICS SYSTEM WITH WIRELESS COMMUNICATION
A mobile, self contained molecular diagnostics system is provided with a microfluidic chip, detection apparatus and an integrated or wireless control interface and imager. The system provides automated sample preparation and rapid optical detection of multianalyte nucleic acids and proteins. On chip PCR may be performed to improve the optical fluorescence signal for nucleic acid detections. Plasmonic protein detection is performed using a dark field smartphone microscope. Dark field illumination is based on an evanescent field generated by LED total internal reflection. The smartphone element may also be used as an interface to control the detection apparatus, acquire images, process data and for wireless communications with remote computers. The handheld automated system has low power requirements and is particularly suited for point of care and on demand diagnostics in resource limited settings.
Needle guide with selectable aspects
A needle guide assembly for inserting a needle into the body of a patient in order to access a subcutaneous target, such as a vessel, is disclosed. In one embodiment, the needle guide assembly comprises a needle guide body that is configured to at least indirectly and removably attach to an image producing device, such as an ultrasound probe. The needle guide body defines at least first and second elongate guide channels. Each guide channel defines a unique insertion angle with respect to a longitudinal axis of the ultrasound probe. Further, each guide channel is configured to accept needles of differing gauges. In other embodiments other needle guide assemblies are disclosed that include multiple guide channels for inserting a needle at a variety of insertion angles into the patient's body. Related methods are also disclosed. In yet other embodiments, needle guide assemblies including needle stop features are disclosed.

Methods and apparatus for lancet actuation
A lancet driver is provided wherein the driver exerts a driving force on a lancet during a lancing cycle and is used on a tissue site. The driver comprises of a drive force generator for advancing the lancet along a path into the tissue site, and a manual switch for a user interface input.
Venipuncture Assist Device
A venipuncture assist device includes a main body having a first surface configured to confront a target venipuncture site. The device further includes a vein capture channel disposed within the first surface configured to urge a portion of a patient's tissue and subcutaneous vein therein when the vein capture channel is evacuated by vacuum, wherein the urging creates a bend in the vein for piercing by a venipuncture needle. The device further includes one or more needle channels extending from a front main body surface configured to receive and guide the needle into the bend in the vein.
Method and apparatus for penetrating tissue
A body fluid sampling system for use on a tissue site includes a single drive force generator. A plurality of penetrating members are operatively coupled to the force generator. The force generator moves each of the members along a path out of a housing with a penetrating member exit, into the tissue site, stops in the tissue site, and withdraws out of the tissue site. A flexible support member couples the penetrating members to define a linear array. The support member is movable and configured to move each of the penetrating members to a launch position associated with the force generator.
SYSTEMS AND TECHNIQUES FOR MONITORING SUBJECTS
The present invention generally relates to systems and methods for monitoring and/or providing feedback for drugs or other pharmaceuticals taken by a subject. In one aspect, the present invention is directed to devices and methods for determining a species within the skin of a subject; and producing feedback to a subject based on the determination of the species. The feedback may be, for example, visual, audible, tactile, a change in temperature, etc. In some cases, information regarding the determination of the species may be transmitted to another entity, e.g., a health care provider, a computer, a relative, etc., which may then provide feedback to the subject in some fashion. In some cases, the feedback may be directly indicative of the species, e.g., whether the species is present, the concentration of the species, whether a by-product of a reaction involving the species is present, whether a compound affected by the species is present, etc. However, the feedback may also be indirect in some embodiments. For example, the subject may be presented with an external reward, e.g., based on the determination of the species within the skin. For instance, a reward such as cash, coupons, songs, discounts, personal items, etc., may be offered based on the level of compliance of the subject. Still other aspects of the invention are generally directed to kits involving such devices (with or without the drug to be monitored), methods of promoting such systems, or the like.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR CELL DETECTION
The present disclosure relates to a cartridge, detection module, system, and kit for cell and particle detection and analysis. Devices disclosed herein may include at least an optical source, a fluidic chip, and a detection module, wherein the sample flows within the fluidic chip past a detection window, where the cells or particles are imaged by an image acquisition and analysis module that may include an optical detector. The image acquisition and analysis module may count the cells or particles of interest in real-time, or near real-time, or the module may capture images of the cells in order to analyze the sample from combined images at a later time.
