Systems and methods for managing blood donations
Methods and apparatus collecting blood from patients and managing blood donations are provided, which may include any number of features. One feature is a blood collection device configured to collect blood from a patient and periodically transmit blood collection data from the device to a control system. Another feature is a system and method for updating firmware on a plurality of blood collection devices. In one embodiment, a software interface with a blood collection control can be used to specify a blood collection protocol, and the blood collection protocol can be then transmitted to one or more blood collection devices.
Medical measuring device and medical measuring system
In a housing configured to mount thereon a biosensor in an attachable and detachable manner in which the biosensor is configured to have a liquid sample of a biological object deposited thereon, the medial measuring device includes a measuring component operable to measure biological information from the liquid sample of the biological object, a recording component operable to store a result measured by the measuring component, and an information protection component operable to determine an access limitation to personal information data stored in the recording component. With this configuration of the device, it is possible to properly protect personal information stored in the device.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ADAPTIVE COMMUNICATION TRANSMISSION
Disclosed are methods, systems, devices and articles, including a method for adaptive wireless communication transmissions between units of an ambulatory portable medical device. The method includes obtaining data relating to wireless transmissions between the units of the medical device, and setting one or more attributes of wireless transmission of one or more messages between the units of the medical device based, at least in part, on the obtained data.
CONTINUOUS ANALYTE MONITOR DATA RECORDING DEVICE OPERABLE IN A BLINDED MODE
A system is provided for monitoring analyte in a host, including a continuous analyte sensor that produces a data stream indicative of a host's analyte concentration and a device that receives and records data from the data stream from the continuous analyte sensor. In one embodiment, the device includes a single point analyte monitor, from which it obtains an analyte value, and is configured to display only single point analyte measurement values, and not any analyte measurement values associated with data received from the continuous analyte sensor. Instead, data received from the continuous analyte sensor is used to provide alarms to the user when the analyte concentration and/or the rate of change of analyte concentration, as measured by the continuous analyte sensor, is above or below a predetermined range. Data received from the continuous analyte sensor may also be used to prompt the diabetic or caregiver to take certain actions, such as to perform another single point blood glucose measurement. In another embodiment, the device provides for toggling between two modes, with one mode that allows for display of glucose concentration values associated with the continuous glucose sensor and a second mode that prevents the display of glucose concentration values associated with the continuous glucose sensor.
System and method for measuring physiological parameters
A method for measuring a physiological parameter is disclosed. The method includes providing an electronic device having a radio reader transmitting and receiving a radio signal; providing a physiological parameter measurement device configured with an energy storage module, a transmission module and a strip port for receiving a strip; energy storage in the physiological parameter measurement device in response to a radio energy storage signal transmitted from the electronic device until it reaches a sufficient energy status; and applying a sensing voltage to the strip via the strip port, receiving a sensing signal from the strip, and converting the sensing signal into a physiological parameter measurement signal by the physiological parameter measurement device under the sufficient energy status.
METHOD AND SYSTEM TO DERIVE GLYCEMIC PATTERNS FROM CLUSTERING OF GLUCOSE DATA
Described are methods and systems for determining clusters of glucose data that can be utilized to provide insights to the person with diabetes, such as, for example, when a certain number of measurements during a predetermined time period is less than a predetermined threshold so that the subject is notified that the number of glucose measurements is less than optimum for management of diabetes.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR BLOOD GLUCOSE MONITORING
The present invention provides for an apparatus, including: a lancing device; a cartridge; where the lancing device is configured to house the cartridge; where the cartridge is configured to house a plurality of test strips and a glucose monitoring apparatus; where the glucose monitoring apparatus is configured to determine a glucose test result from at least one test strip of the plurality of test strips.
Method for automatically unblocking or blocking a computer-supported medical device
Automatically blocking and/or unblocking a computer-supported medical device in a system includes the medical device and a mobile terminal. The mobile terminal comprises a first wireless communication device, and the medical device comprises a second wireless communication device. The medical device is automatically shifted from a blocked state into an unblocked state, if when the first communication device establishes a wireless connection with the second communication device and the signal strength of a signal of from the first communication device to the second communication device exceeds a first threshold. The medical device is automatically shifted from an unblocked state into a blocked state when the first communication device establishes a wireless connection with the second communication device and the signal strength of a signal from the first communication device to the second communication device falls below a second threshold and/or the wireless connection is interrupted for longer than a predetermined time interval.
