NEUROREHABILITATION SYSTEM AND NEUROREHABILITATION METHOD

The system of neurorehabilitation and the method of neurorehabilitation belongs to the medical field, specifically to neurology, and can be used as a system and method of neurorehabilitation during motor rehabilitation of patients after a stroke in various phases, as well as during the rehabilitation of patients with other diseases and disorders of the central nervous system. The objective of the claimed invention is the motor (movement) rehabilitation of patients after stroke and other diseases of the central nervous system that cause motor deficits in the limbs. The technical result of the invention is to increase the effectiveness of rehabilitation, including during early and late rehabilitation period of stroke and other diseases and disorders of the central nervous system through the use of the system and method of neurorehabilitation and methods of this invention, which stimulate the restoration of mobility of paralyzed limbs by forming neural biofeedback connections between the patient's intention to move the limb and its implementation.

A mental impairment detection system and non-invasive method of detecting mental impairment of a user are provided. A test (e.g., an inhibitory reflex test or a sustained attention test) is administered to the user, brain activity in a frontal lobe of the user is non-invasively detected while the test is administered to the user, and a level of mental impairment of the user is determined based on the brain activity detected in the frontal lobe of the user.

Brain stimulation treatment in depression

Provided herein are, for example, systems and methods of diagnosing and treating depression, in which a transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy is administered to a subject in need thereof and measuring a TMS evoked response in the subject, are provided. The systems and methods allow tailoring or optimizing of a treatment protocol for maximal individual benefit, thereby providing an individualized and optimized treatment protocol for psychiatric disorders such as depression.

Multi-sphere head model for dipole localization without ghost spheres

In one aspect, a computer-implemented method corrects a multi-sphere head model used in dipole localization for a set of magnetic field sensors (MEG sensors) by replacing ghost spheres with replacement spheres that are not ghost spheres. One type of ghost sphere completely encloses the brain volume but is so large that a center of the sphere is outside the brain volume. Another type of ghost sphere lies entirely outside the brain volume. Various approaches for correcting ghost spheres are disclosed.

A system includes a communication interface for receiving information that includes data collected from an array of neural activity sensors that were placed on a patient during a session of applied stimuli. A processor is configured to analyze the received information to obtain a frequency spectrum for each sensor for a given stimulus of the applied stimuli. Neural network frequencies that correspond to an indicated impaired functionality of the nervous system of the patient are selected. For each selected frequencies, a spatial map of neural activity is generated. Each of the generated spatial maps is compared with retrieved corresponding spatial maps to identify treatment frequencies from among the selected neural network frequencies. A treatment protocol is generated for input into an electromagnetic field generator to cause the generator to apply to the patient an electromagnetic field at each identified treatment frequency.
