Connector assembly for electrically connecting two cables
A connector assembly for connecting a cable to an electrical component includes a plug unit and a mating plug unit, which each have an outer conductor element, an insulator element and an inner conductor element. The insulator element is disposed within the outer conductor element and includes an inner conductor channel in which the inner conductor element is disposed. The insulator element of the plug unit forms a plug profile that extends around the inner conductor channel and has at least one projection and/or depression. The insulator element of the mating plug unit forms a mating plug profile that corresponds to a negative of the plug profile. The plug unit and the mating plug unit are connectable to one another in such a way that the plug profile and the mating plug profile rest against each other, at least in some areas.
Electrical contact having two side-by-side parts with joined bottom ends thereof
An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of passageways extending through opposite upper and lower surfaces of the housing. A plurality of electrical contacts are received within the corresponding passageways, respectively. Each contact includes a first main body and a second main body side by side arranged with each other with a bridge transversely linked therebetween. At least one of the first main body and the second main body includes a retaining barb for retaining contact in the passageway. Two soldering pads are formed on the corresponding bottom ends of the first main body and the second main body, respectively. The two soldering pads intimately confront each other either in a horizontal direction or in a vertical direction, and are joined together via a solder ball located under the two soldering pads.
Apparatus and method for modifying an electrical circuit
An apparatus for modifying an electrical circuit includes a first electrical contact, a second electrical contact, an electrical coupler formed of an electrically conductive material, a first assembly including a cavity, a driving portion, an inhibiting portion, and a second assembly electrically coupled to the second electrical contact. The electrical coupler is moveable within the cavity along a movement axis, a wall of the cavity is electrically coupled to the first electrical contact and to the electrical coupler, and when the electrical coupler is disposed at an initial position within the cavity, the electrical coupler is not electrically coupled to the second electrical contact. The driving portion applies a first force on the electrical coupler in a movement direction along the movement axis. The inhibiting portion inhibits the movement of the electrical coupler along the movement axis.
Quick disconnect electrical connector with circular contacts
An electrical connector assembly for mating with a mating connector assembly. The connector assembly includes a housing with a cable receiving portion and a mating portion. The housing has a first surface and an oppositely facing second surface. A mating projection extends from the first surface in a direction away from the second surface. The mating projection has a circular cross-sectional configuration. The mating projection has an angled wall which extends from the first surface to a mating face, the angled wall is angled relative to a plane of the first surface and a plane of the mating face. The mating face has contacts extending therethrough. The contacts have circular engagement sections arranged concentrically about a center of the mating face. A securing recess is provided in the angled wall, the securing recess extends about the outside circumference of the angled wall.
Electrical connector having terminals with reduced height
An electrical connector includes a body having multiple accommodating holes running vertically therethrough, and multiple conductive terminals vertically movably accommodated in the accommodating holes. Each accommodating hole has upper and lower position limiting surfaces. Each conductive terminal includes a flat plate portion having an upper position limiting portion located above the upper position limiting surface, and a lower position limiting portion located below the lower position limiting surface, so as to limit a vertical movement of the conductive terminal. Upper and lower elastic arms are formed at a rear side the flat plate portion. Each of the upper and lower elastic arms has a corresponding contact portion to correspondingly abut a first electronic component and a second electronic component. A through slot extends from the upper elastic arm through the flat plate portion to the lower elastic arm.
Electrical connector and electrical connector assembly
The present invention discloses an electrical connector and an electrical connector assembly. Each of the ground terminals is provided to be in contact with two corresponding first mating terminals in a left-right direction. The terminals may mate with the first and second mating terminals under the same specification, thus facilitating unified automatic production of the mating connector, and may achieve the objectives for increasing the shielding effect of the electrical connector and saving the quantity of the terminals without changing the size of the electrical connector.
Active cover plates
A variety of active cover plate configurations with prongs configured to contact side screw terminals of electrical receptacles are described. In one illustrative embodiment, an active cover plate includes a multi-gang face plate configured to be installed over a multi-gang light switch installation, the multi-gang faceplate including at least two apertures sized to accept a manually manipulatable element of switches in the multi-gang light switch installation. Prongs extend rearward from the multi-gang faceplate around at least one of the apertures.
