Safe, robust, compact connector
11233345 · 2022-01-25 · ·

An interconnection system that is safe, reliable and compact. Mating connectors include complementary projections. Terminals in each connector have opposed beams, with portions of the beams of each terminal embedded in adjacent projections. In mating connectors, the terminals are oriented 90 degrees with respect to each other, such that the terminals of one connector fit between beams of the other. Two beams of each terminal press on opposing sides of a mating terminal, creating four points of contact, for reliable operation. The projections extend beyond the distal tips of the terminals and preclude accidental contact between the terminals and a human finger. Contact force may be controlled by altering the shape of openings cut in the terminals near the base of the beams, enabling the terminals to be formed simply by stamping a sheet of metal and further enabling the beams to be short to provide a compact connector.

HEARING AID CONNECTOR

In one embodiment, the present invention is directed to a compact connector including a light tip connector including a light tip cable connected thereto, the light tip connector including a receiving cavity including side walls and a bottom wall, guide channels formed in the side walls of the receiving cavity, a locking pin at a medial end of the guide channel and one or more light tip electrodes positioned on a bottom wall of the receiving cavity. In further embodiments of the present invention, a BTE connector includes a latch adapted to engage the locking pin to hold the BTE connector in the receiving cavity when the BTE connector is attached to the light tip connector. In a further embodiment, the compact connector includes a plurality of pogo pin electrodes arranged to contact the light tip electrodes when the BTE connector is attached to the light tip connector.

Plug connector and connector assembly

A plug connector for mating with a receptacle connector which is provided with a groove at an upper surface thereof includes: an insulating body; and a locking elastic piece on the insulating body, wherein the insulating body includes a main body and a mating portion extending forward from the main body, a bottom of the mating portion protrudes downward to form a sinking portion, and the sinking portion is located entirely above the groove.

Housing for installing connecting terminals and a connector

A housing for an electrical connecting terminal comprises a body defining a cavity for accommodating the connecting terminal, and a latch member located in the cavity. The latch member extends from a bottom surface of the cavity toward a top surface of the cavity and includes an opening located proximate the bottom surface of the cavity and a locking portion for locking the connecting terminal within the body.

Damped tool-less cabled drive carrier

A drive (e.g., hard drive) carrier can have a frame with a door that can open to permit installation of the drive and can snap shut to secure the drive within the drive carrier. The drive carrier can include a connector lock, which can take the form of a pair of pins extending from the frame and capable of engaging corresponding retention holes of a connector of a cable. The connector lock can help align the cable's connector with the drive's connector, as well as releasably lock the cable's connector in place when operatively connected to the drive. Damping couplings can couple the carrier frame to a computer chassis. The damping couplings and the flexibility of the cable vibrationally isolate the drive from the chassis, while the connector lock ensures the cable's connector does not unintentionally disconnect from the drive.
