Connectors and contacts for a single twisted pair of conductors
An aspect of the present disclosure is directed to a connector. The connector is suited to connectorizing exactly two conductors. The connector includes a forward connector body, a rear connector body, a metal frame and exactly two electrical contacts. The rear connector body interfaces with the forward connector body. Further, the metal frame, which includes a shielding interface, surrounds at least a portion of both the forward and rear connector bodies. The electrical contacts extend from the rear connector body into the forward connector body. A first of the electrical contacts is electrically coupled to a first conductor of a shielded cable and the second of the electrical contacts is electrically coupled to a second conductor of the shielded cable. The shield interface of the metal frame is electrically coupled to the shield of the shielded cable.
CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY
A connector assembly includes a connector and a cable connected thereto. First and second inner conductor contacts are disposed within an outer conductor sleeve of the connector. The cable has first and second insulated inner conductors. The inner conductor contacts each have a mating portion, for mating with a mating connector, and a connecting portion, in which the inner conductors are connected, with a transition portion extending therebetween. The inner conductor contacts have a first contact spacing in the mating portion and a smaller second contact spacing in the connecting portion. In the transition portion, a transition from the first to the second contact spacing occurs continuously. In an end portion of the cable, the inner conductors are disposed parallel to each other within the outer conductor sleeve and are spaced apart from each other by a conductor spacing equal to the second contact spacing.
Multi-layered, shielded and grounded cables and related methods
Data/telecommunication cables that include one or more layers of an integral, bonded electromagnetic shield are described. The shield may be configured to form an electrical ground path.
SHIELD CONNECTOR
The present invention prevents shield terminal backlash within a housing. The present invention comprises: a shield terminal (20) of a form in which an inner conductor (21) and a dielectric (23) are surrounded by an outer conductor (24); and a housing (10) in which the shield terminal (20) is accommodated. The housing (10) has a hood portion (16) that surrounds the front end portion of the shield terminal (20) with a space therebetween. The housing (10) has formed therein a cylindrical holding portion (18) that holds the outer peripheral portion of the front end portion of the shield terminal (20) within the hood portion (16).
SHIELD CONNECTOR
The present invention suppresses shield terminal backlash within a housing. This shield connector comprises: a shield terminal (30) of a form in which an inner conductor (31) and a dielectric (33) are surrounded by an outer conductor (34); and a housing (10) in which the shield terminal (30) is accommodated. The housing (10) has a hood portion (17) that surrounds the front end portion of the shield terminal (30) with a space therebetween. The housing (10) has formed therein an elastic contact portion (20) that elastically contacts the outer peripheral surface of the shield terminal (30).
SHIELD STRUCTURE AND WIRING HARNESS
A shield structure includes a twisted pair cable formed by twisting two wires and including a parallel portion, the two wires being arranged side by side in the parallel portion, and a shield member including two conductive side wall portions disposed around the parallel portion and two connecting portions configured to connect the two side wall portions. The two connecting portions are respectively disposed on front end parts and rear end parts in an extending direction of the parallel portion, out of the two side wall portions.
SINGLE PAIR ETHERNET (SPE) CONNECTOR AND SYSTEM
An assembly configured to receive twisted pairs of conductors terminated by a miniplug and a pair of conductor contacts. The assembly comprises a housing comprising a first surface comprising a socket disposed therein; wherein the socket is configured to accept a plurality of miniplugs, illustratively in a 2×2 configuration, wherein pairs of socket contacts are exposed along at least one side wall of the socket and wherein the socket contacts are configured to be aligned with the conductor contacts such that each of the conductor contacts is in contact with a respective one of the socket contacts. A caddy is also provided which allows the miniplugs to be arranged in a 2×2 arrangement for subsequent insertion into a socket or the like.
Connector
A connector (10) is to be connected to an end part of a cable (90). The cable (90) is formed by covering outer peripheries of at least two twisted wires (91) by an outer coating (92). The connector includes a conductive tubular portion (32) and an outer housing (60). The wires (91) are inserted into the tubular portion (32). The tubular portion (32) includes a suppressing portion (35) having an outer surface recessed from an outer surface of the tubular portion (32) and an inner surface projecting further toward the wires (91) than an inner surface of the tubular portion (32). The outer housing (60) includes an accommodating portion (62) for accommodating the tubular portion (32). The accommodating portion (62) includes a locking portion (66) to be fit into a recessed part of the suppressing portion (35) in an intersecting direction intersecting a withdrawing direction of the tubular portion (32).
Angled Subassembly for an Angled Connector
An angled subassembly of an angled connector includes an angled shield having a first shield section and a second shield section extending at a bend angle with respect to the first shield section, a cable disposed in the first shield section and the second shield section of the angled shield, and an inner ferrule disposed around the cable within the angled shield. The cable has a wire and a foil disposed around the wire. The inner ferrule electrically connects the foil to the angled shield.
Angled Subassembly for an Angled Connector
An angled subassembly of an angled connector includes an angled shield and a cable disposed in the angled shield. The angled shield has a first shield section and a second shield section extending at a bend angle with respect to the first shield section. The cable has a first portion positioned in the first shield section and a second portion positioned in the second shield section. The second portion extends at the bend angle with respect to the first portion.
