Electrical junction receptacle for magnetic electrical connectors
A device for interconnecting electrical wiring or for accessing electrical current carried by electrical wiring includes an electrical junction housing for receiving an electrical cable, an inner housing inserted into the junction housing to connect the individual wires of the incoming electrical cable to a first magnetic electrical connector carried by the inner housing. A physical interface device such as a switch or a wall socket is then wired to a second magnetic electrical connector that can be plugged into the electrical junction housing. The two magnetic electrical connectors, when joined in the correct orientation, pass electrical current.
Power system
The invention relates to an apparatus and an adapter portion, the apparatus is connectable to the adapter portion and is suitable for conveying power. Each of the apparatus and adapter portion comprises an alignment portion/module configurable to facilitate contactless alignment, a contact portion/module which is capable of being coupled upon proper alignment, and a sensor portion/module configurable to impede or allow flow of power. The invention also relates to a power system including an apparatus which is pendulously coupled to a support structure and an adapter portion. The pendulous coupling facilitates alignment compensation during contactless alignment between the apparatus and the adapter portion.
Adaptive magnetic field adjustment for proper USB ejection
A method, system and computer program product for programmatically adapting a magnetic field in a USB port for controlling USB device drive ejection from an adaptor port. The magnetic field is adapted based on the criticality of the tasks being performed in USB/pen drive/external hard-disk so as to prevent data-corruption and improve user experience (easy pull-off during non-critical tasks).
Movable Cooking Appliance
A movable cooking appliance comprises a structure which is adapted to be placed on a kitchen worktop appliance or inside a cooking oven appliance and includes a heating element and releasable connector assembly for making electrical connection with power supply connectors. The heating element is an induction heating element and an electronic driving unit is mounted on the appliance. The releasable connector assembly comprising a plug connector having a plurality of terminals designed in order to provide a disconnection signal to the electronic unit before the power supply connectors are fully extracted.
MAGNETIC CONNECTOR
A magnetic connector has a plug core disposed around a plug contact set and a receptacle core disposed around a receptacle contact set. The plug core defines a generally elongated circular plug core edge. The receptacle core defines a generally elongated concentric-circular receptacle core edge. The receptacle core edge defines an air gap and the plug core defines an anchor configured to insert into the air gap. A coil is disposed around the receptacle core, and the coil, the plug core and the air gap define a magnetic circuit. The coil is electrically energized so as to form a magnetic field within an air gap, lock the anchor within the air gap and lock the plug contact set to the receptacle contact set accordingly.
System and method for determining the current condition of power contacts
A method and apparatus for determining the current condition of power contacts and providing an indication to a preventive maintenance system and/or a user of required power contact replacement. The method includes auxiliary contacts providing a low power binary signal to a processor in response to movements of a contact carrier supporting the movable auxiliary contacts and movable power contacts. The low power binary signals, in combination with physical features of the contact carrier and a signal indicating the state of the power contact, provide information to the processor for determining the current condition of the power contacts, and if the current condition exceeds a predetermined limit, notifying the preventive maintenance system and/or the user.
Socket
The present disclosure provides a socket for cooperating with a magnetically conductive prong to provide a power supply connection. The socket includes: an electrically conductive contact member for receiving the magnetically conductive prong; a spring sheet body, a first end of the spring sheet body being fixed, and a second end of the spring sheet body being provided with a magnetic component at a position corresponding to the electrically conductive contact member; a power supply connecting portion for connecting with a power supply; and a first electrically conductive portion being arranged on the spring sheet body and located at a position corresponding to the power supply connecting portion, the first electrically conductive portion being located between the first end of the spring sheet body and the second end of the spring sheet body, and the first electrically conductive portion and the power supply connecting portion being connected through an electrically conductive connecting wire.
Magnetically activated power socket and plug combination
The system includes a magnetically actuated electrical power socket and a magnetic plug. The plug includes an insulating cylindrical plug body, a plurality of conductive ring contacts provided on the face of the cylindrical plug body, a permanent magnet disposed in the center of the plug body. The magnetically actuated electrical power socket includes an insulating fixed face, a corresponding plurality of fixed conductive contacts in the face, a movable ferromagnetic transfer bar disposed behind the face, a corresponding plurality of insulatively isolated transfer contacts disposed in the transfer bar and aligned with the face contacts, a plurality of extension springs coupled to the transfer bar, which springs normally maintain the transfer bar spaced apart from the face, and a corresponding plurality of fixed conductive terminals extending from the rear of the socket module electrically coupled to the transfer contacts.
