The lamp base is held physically in place in the lamp housing by the magnetic attraction of two pair of magnets without the need of a threaded connection. The magnet pairs hold the lamp base to the lamp housing in a fixed orientation allowing electricity to flow through the terminals in the lamp housing regardless of whether the source of electrical current is direct or alternating, and, if direct current is the source, such as electrical current from solar cells or batteries, preserves polarity, and can deliver direct current when the light source uses direct current, such as LEDs.

ADAPTER AND ADAPTER MODULE HAVING THE SAME

An adapter module including an adapter and a power cord is provided. The adapter includes a first interface, at least a second interface coupled with at least a load, an identifying circuit having a sensing switch configured at the first interface, a controller, and a detecting circuit. The first interface is provided for inserting by a connector of the power cord. The sensing switch changes its on/off state depending on whether the first connector provides a trigger. A first message is generated if the first connector provides the trigger. The controller is coupled to the identifying circuit and receives the first message. The detecting circuit is coupled between the first interface and the second interface for detecting a power parameter value, and provides a second message to the controller. The controller sends a warning message according to the first message and the second message.

The first electrical contact device includes at least one first electrical contact and an actuator movable between a first position and a second position. The second electrical contact device includes at least one second electrical contact device and an interlock feature to engage the actuator when the actuator is in the first position. The actuator is in the first position when the first electrical contact is in electrical communication with a power source, and the actuator is in the second position when the electrical communication between the first electrical contact and the power source is disconnected. When the actuator is in the first position and the second electrical contact engage the first electrical contact, the interlock feature engages the actuator, thereby securing the first electrical contact device and the second electrical contact device against disconnection.

Magnetic connector

A magnetic connector has a receptacle and a plug. The receptacle has an electromagnet comprising an inner core, an outer core, a coil disposed around the inner core and an air gap defined by the edges of the inner and outer cores. The plug has a plug core and an anchor defined by the plug core edge. The anchor is configured to insert into the air gap as a receptacle socket electrically connects with plug pins. The coil is energized and de-energized so as to assist in the insertion or removal of the anchor from within the air gap and the corresponding connection and disconnection of the socket and pins.
