METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR EVALUATING THE INTEGRITY OF A UTERINE CAVITY
20220330883 · 2022-10-20 · ·

Methods, systems and devices for evaluating the integrity of a uterine cavity. A method comprises introducing transcervically a probe into a patient's uterine cavity, providing a flow of a fluid (e.g., CO.sub.2) through the probe into the uterine cavity and monitoring the rate of the flow to characterize the uterine cavity as perforated or non-perforated based on a change in the flow rate.

Dual mode biophotonic imaging systems and their applications for detection of epithelial dysplasia in vivo

A system provides combined diffuse optical microscopy (DOM) and fluorescence endomicroscopy (FE). The system may use a single light source which generates structured illumination for both modalities. FE and DOM images may be displayed for qualitative assessment. Quantitative assessments may be based on both FE and DOM images. The quantitative assessments may be applied to characterize tissues. Some embodiments provide multi-spectral DOM.

A FLOW DEVICE FOR CREATING A FLOW OF BUBBLES AND A VISUALISATION DEVICE WITH A DEVICE FOR CREATING A FLOW OF BUBBLES

The invention provides a flow device for creating a flow of bubbles of a contrast medium. The device comprises a pump which is configured to provide a flow of the medium and an elongated insertion tube attached to the pump at a proximal end. The elongated insertion tube forms a flow path between the proximal end and an outlet at a distal end.

INTRA-OPERATIVE IMAGING

The present invention relates to the use of a NIR fluorescent probe comprising an aza-bicycloalkane based cyclic peptide labelled with a Cy5.5 dye moiety in the fluorescence- guided surgery of pathologic regions and to an optical imaging method that comprises using this fluorescent probe for the identification and demarcation of tumor margins during the surgical resection.

Methods, systems and devices for evaluating the integrity of a uterine cavity. A method comprises introducing transcervically a probe into a patient's uterine cavity, providing a flow of a fluid (e.g., CO2) through the probe into the uterine cavity and monitoring the rate of the flow to characterize the uterine cavity as perforated or non-perforated based on a change in the flow rate. If the flow rate drops to zero or close to zero, this indicates that the uterine cavity is intact and not perforated. If the flow rate does not drop to zero or close to zero, this indicates that a fluid flow is leaking through a perforation in the uterine cavity into the uterine cavity or escaping around an occlusion balloon that occludes the cervical canal.

SYNTHESIS AND COMPOSITION OF AMINO ACID LINKING GROUPS CONJUGATED TO COMPOUNDS USED FOR THE TARGETED IMAGING OF TUMORS
20170232119 · 2017-08-17 ·

The present disclosure relates to compounds that are useful as near-infrared fluorescence probes, wherein the compounds include i) a pteroyl ligand that binds to a target receptor protein, ii) a dye molecule, and iii) a linker molecule that comprises an amino acid or derivative thereof. The disclosure further describes methods and compositions for incorporating the compounds as used for the targeted imaging of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in human subjects. Conjugation of the amino acid linking groups increase specificity and detection of the compound. Methods and compositions for use thereof in diagnostic imaging are contemplated.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ENHANCED VISUALIZATION OF A CURVED STRUCTURE BY AUTOMATICALLY DISPLAYING A RENDERED VIEW OF A CURVED IMAGE SLICE
20170236248 · 2017-08-17 ·

A processor identifies a curved structure in three-dimensional medical image data. The processor selects a plane in the three-dimensional medical image data based at least in part on the identified curved structure. The processor defines a curved image slice in the selected plane based at least in part on the identified curved structure. The curved image slice may be defined by drawing a pair of curved lines on opposite sides of the identified curved structure in the selected plane. The distance between the pair of curved lines may define a thickness of the curved image slice. The processor generates a rendered image of the defined curved image slice. The rendered image may be generally perpendicular to the selected plane. The rendered image and/or the selected plane having the pair of curved lines superimposed on opposite sides of the identified curved structure may be presented at a display system.

OVARIAN TOXICITY ASSESSMENT IN HISTOPATHOLOGICAL IMAGES USING DEEP LEARNING

The present disclosure relates to a deep learning neural network that can identify corpora lutea in the ovaries and a rules-based technique that can count the corpora lutea identified in the ovaries and infer an ovarian toxicity of a compound based on the count of the corpora lutea (CL). Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to obtaining a set of images of tissue slices from ovaries treated with an amount of a compound; generating, using a neural network model, the set of images with a bounding box around objects that are identified as the CL within the set of images based on coordinates predicted for the bounding box; counting the bounding boxes within the set of images to obtain a CL count for the ovaries; and determining an ovarian toxicity of the compound at the amount based on the CL count.

Methods and Apparatus for Determining the Integrity of a Bodily Cavity

A method and system of providing therapy to a patient's uterus is provided, which can include any number of features. The method can include the steps of inserting a uterine device into the uterus and performing a uterine integrity test to determine that the uterus is intact and not perforated. Systems for performing these methods with monitored flow rate and independent of patient height relative to the pressure source are also disclosed.

UTERINE MANIPULATOR
20170325844 · 2017-11-16 ·

A uterine manipulator is described that includes an elongated, hollow shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. The hollow shaft defines a channel and has a non-opaque distal tip. A handle is positioned on a proximal portion of the shaft and an inflatable balloon is supported on a distal portion of the shaft. The inflatable balloon is transitional from a deflated state to an inflated state. A cervical cup is movably positioned along the shaft from a distal position to a proximal position. The channel of the shaft is dimensioned to receive an endoscope to facilitate visualization of a body lumen through the non-opaque distal tip of the shaft. In embodiments, the cervical cup defines a rim that is positioned to abut the inflatable balloon when the cervical cup is in its distal position. The rim includes a plurality of distally facing lights that function to identify placement of the cervical cup in relation to the cervix.
