Organ Enclosures For Inhibiting Tumor Invasion And Detecting Organ Pathology
20220071660 · 2022-03-10 ·

An enclosure provides a prophylactic barrier that may be permeable to gases, hormones, proteins, and peritoneal fluid, but restrains tumor cells within the enclosure so as to inhibit ovarian cancer invasion of adjacent tissue, and increase the speed of diagnosis of ovarian dysplasia, including cancer. The enclosure includes one or more of fiducial markers, heat sensors, and blood flow reflectors, which may be imaged non-invasively in order to detect conditions or pathology affecting the ovary. The enclosure may also include an access port that permits sampling of the enclosure's contents to further aid in detecting or treating conditions or pathology affecting the ovary.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FORA UTERINE THERMOCHROMIC PROBE
20220061747 · 2022-03-03 ·

A uterine thermochromic probe comprising a probe handle, a probe head, and a probe body comprising a thermochromic material, wherein the probe body couples the probe handle to the probe head. In some examples, the probe body tapers from a wide end at the probe handle to a narrow end at the probe head. In some further examples, the uterine thermochromic probe is formed from a continuous piece of thermochromic material.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR EVALUATING THE INTEGRITY OF A UTERINE CAVITY

A system for accessing a patient's uterine cavity and detecting perforations in the uterus includes an elongated probe having a flow channel extending to a terminal outlet in a distal region of the probe. A fluid source is coupled to the flow channel, and a seal on the probe is positionable in an endocervical canal. The probe may be trans-cervically inserted into the uterine cavity, and a fluid may be introduced through the channel to flow outwardly from the terminal outlet into the uterine cavity. A parameter of said fluid flow is monitored to detect a perforation in the uterus.

INTEGRITY TESTING METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DELIVERING VAPOR TO THE UTERUS

A method and system of providing therapy to a patient's uterus is provided, which can include any number of features. The method can include the steps of inserting a uterine device into the uterus and performing a uterine integrity test to determine that the uterus is intact and not perforated. If it is determined that the uterus is not perforated, a patency test can be performed to determine that the uterine device is not clogged or embedded in tissue. If the uterus is intact and the device is not clogged or embedded in tissue, the uterus can be treated with the uterine device, e.g., uterine ablation. Systems for performing these methods are also disclosed.

COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING RECEPTIVITY OF AN ENDOMETRIUM FOR EMBRYONIC IMPLANTATION

Provided herein are methods and kits for determining receptivity status of an endometrium for embryonic implantation.

SYNTHESIS AND COMPOSITION OF AMINO ACID LINKING GROUPS CONJUGATED TO COMPOUNDS USED FOR THE TARGETED IMAGING OF TUMORS

The present disclosure relates to compounds that are useful as near-infrared fluorescence probes, wherein the compounds include i) a ligand that binds to a target receptor protein, ii) a dye molecule, and iii) a linker molecule that comprises an amino acid or derivative thereof. The disclosure further describes methods and compositions for making and using the compounds, methods incorporating the compounds, and kits incorporating the compounds. The disclosure also relates to compositions for incorporating the compounds as used for the targeted imaging of tumors. Conjugation of the amino acid linking groups increase specificity and detection of the compound. Methods and compositions for use thereof in diagnostic imaging are contemplated.

PROCESSING A PHYSICAL SIGNAL
20210244286 · 2021-08-12 ·

There are described herein methods and apparatus for processing a physical signal, in particular for processing data obtained in relation to the physical characteristics of a user, in particular a female user. One or more sensors can be used to obtain the data, in particular indwelling thermometers, aural thermometers, blood pressure and heart rate monitors. There are also described herein methods and apparatus for analysing and further processing the data to obtain and provide health information in relation to the user, in particular in relation to the user's fertility or state of ovulation.

Dual balloon fluid endometrial treatment of uterine tissue

A medical device includes: a shaft having a distal end and an associated exhaust channel; a first balloon configured to be attached to the distal end of the shaft, the first balloon having an outer surface that is substantially conformal to an inner surface of a uterine cavity; and a second balloon configured to be received within the first balloon and forming an intermediary space between the first balloon and an outer surface of the second balloon. The second balloon includes at least one rupture valve configured to rupture at a predefined pressure in the intermediary space.

Cell-collecting falloposcope and method for ovarian cancer detection

A falloposcope is described, and a method of screening a patient for fallopian tube and/or ovarian cancer with the falloposcope. The falloposcope can perform optical imaging, including fluorescence imaging and/or optical coherence tomography (OCT), and optionally include a channel for a sampling wire, within a diameter of about 0.7 millimeter. The method includes inserting the falloposcope through a lumen of vagina, cervix, uterus, and fallopian tube so a tip of the falloposcope is in proximity to a first fallopian tube or ovary of the patient; providing fluorescence stimulus wavelength through an illumination fiber of the falloposcope while imaging light at fluorescence emission wavelength through a coherent fiber bundle to form fluorescence emissions images; and determining suspect tissue. Then the sampling wire is used to collect cells from the suspect tissue for karyotype and other analysis.
