Dual-wavelength synchronous pulsed fiber laser based on rare earth ions co-doped fiber

The present application is applicable to laser technology field and provides a dual-wavelength synchronous pulsed fiber laser based on rare earth ions co-doped fiber, which includes a continuous light LD pumping source, a rare earth ions co-doped fiber and two resonant cavities. Sensitizing ions in the rare earth ions co-doped fiber absorb the pumping light and radiate laser of one wavelength. Meanwhile, sensitized ions in the rare earth ions co-doped fiber radiate laser of another wavelength. Laser generated by sensitizing ions is subjected to Q-switching or mode locking with the saturable absorber inserted in the cavity to generate pulsed laser. Generation and partial reabsorption for the pulsed laser modulates gain of the laser radiated by sensitized ions periodically and generates synchronous pulsed laser, thereby implementing a dual-wavelength synchronous pulsed fiber laser.

Cladding material for laser amplifier transverse oscillation suppression

A solid-state laser amplifier includes a core material providing an active gain medium. A cladding material is on the core material that is the same material as the core material that further comprises a broadband absorber material. The cladding material suppresses transverse oscillations in solid-state, single-crystal or ceramic laser amplifiers by employing a native-material, solid-state, index-matched cladding containing an appropriate broadband absorber.

[Overview] [Problem to be Solved] To make it possible to generate pulsed laser light having a stable polarization direction while suppressing an increase in the pulse width of the pulsed laser light and a decrease in the peak intensity of the pulsed laser light, and miniaturizing an optical resonator and a laser device in a case where an amorphous material is used as the base material of a laser medium. [Solution] There is provided a passive Q-switch pulse laser device including: a laser medium; and a saturable absorber. The laser medium is disposed between a pair of reflection means included in an optical resonator. The laser medium is excited by specific excitation light to emit emission light. The saturable absorber is disposed on an optical axis of the optical resonator and on a downstream side of the laser medium between the pair of reflection means. The saturable absorber has a transmittance increased by absorption of the emission light. At least one of the pair of reflection means is a polarizing element. The polarizing element has different reflectances with respect to the respective pieces of emission light in polarization directions orthogonal to each other.

Laser-pumped light source and method for laser ignition of plasma

The light source contains a gas-filled chamber with a plasma sustained by a focused beam of a continuous wave laser. The means for plasma ignition is a solid-state laser system which generates two pulsed laser beams: in a free running mode and in a Q-switched mode. The solid-state laser system contains single active element and its optical cavity is equipped with a Q-switch overlapping only part of a cross section of the intracavity laser beam. One pulsed laser beam provides an optical breakdown after which another pulsed laser beam ignites the plasma, the volume and density of which are sufficient for stationary sustenance of the plasma by the focused beam of the continuous wave laser. EFFECT: simplification of the design of the light source, increase of its reliability and ease of use, creating on this basis of powerful electrode-free high-brightness broadband light sources with high spatial and energy stability.
