SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR JOINT HEALTH ASSESSMENT
An exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure provides a system for assessing joint health comprising a joint sensor configured to measure at least one non-acoustic characteristic of a joint during movement; a bioimpedance sensor configured to measure bioimpedance of a joint structure exposed to electrical current at a plurality of frequencies; a processor; and a memory, the memory comprising instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to provide an assessment of joint health through interpretation of measurements from the joint sensor and the bioimpedance sensor.
Detection and analysis of spatially varying fluid levels using magnetic signals
A device for detecting spatial differences in fluid level changes in a tissue of a patient may include a support structure for securing the device to a body part of the patient, a processing element operably connected to the support structure, a wireless networking interface operably connected to the support structure and in communication with the processing element and an external computing device via a network, a first transmission module operably connected to the support structure and in communication with the processing element, a second transmission module and a third transmission module operably connected to the support structure and in communication with the processing element. When activated, the first transmission module transmits a first time varying magnetic field through the tissue of the patient. The second and third transmission modules, which are spatially separated from one another, receive first and second versions, respectively, of the first time varying magnetic field.
Impedance measurement system
A system for performing at least one impedance measurement on a biological subject, the system including a measuring device having a first housing including spaced pairs of foot drive and sense electrodes provided in electrical contact with feet of the subject in use, a second housing including spaced pairs of hand drive and sense electrodes provided in electrical contact with hands of the subject in use, at least one signal generator electrically connected to at least one of the drive electrodes to apply a drive signal to the subject, at least one sensor electrically connected to at least one of the sense electrodes to measure a response signal in the subject and a measuring device processor that at least in part controls the at least one signal generator, receives an indication of a measured response signal from the at least one sensor and generates measurement data indicative of at least one measured impedance value and a client device in communication with the measuring device, the client device being adapted to receive measurement data allowing the client device to display an indicator associated a result of the impedance measurement.
Diagnostic techniques based on speech-sample alignment
A method includes obtaining a first sequence of reference-sample feature vectors that quantify acoustic features of different respective portions of at least one reference speech sample, which was produced by a subject at a first time while a physiological state of the subject was known, and a second sequence of test-sample feature vectors that quantify the acoustic features of different respective portions of at least one test speech sample, which was produced by the subject at a second time while the physiological state of the subject was unknown. The test-sample feature vectors are mapped to respective ones of the reference-sample feature vectors, under predefined constraints, such that a total distance between the test-sample feature vectors and the respective ones of the reference-sample feature vectors is minimized. In response to the mapping, an output indicating the physiological state of the subject at the second time is generated.
SMART JOINT MONITOR FOR BLEEDING DISORDER PATIENTS
In an approach to smart joint monitoring for bleeding disorder patients, one or more sets of data are received from a smart joint monitor, where the smart joint monitor includes one or more sensors. One or more criticalities are detected, where the one or more criticalities are detected by an artificial intelligence engine based on the one or more sets of data and a global knowledge base. One or more suggestions are determined, where the one or more suggestions are determined by the artificial intelligence engine based on the one or more criticalities and the global knowledge base.
Tissue elasticity measurement
A device for measuring elasticity of a tissue of an object is disclosed. It comprises a base portion comprising contact means for contacting the tissue. It also comprises a palpation probe for pushing down on the tissue comprising a palpation pen for pushing down the tissue and a force measuring means for determining a palpation force applied to the palpation probe and/or a displacement measuring means for determining a displacement of the palpation pen being representative for a displacement of the tissue. The device also comprises a swiveling handle mounted pivotally to the base portion for positioning the device and for distributing a positioning force along the at least two contact points in a predetermined manner.
FLUID STIMULATION METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TREATING FLUID OVERLOAD
Methods for treating fluid overload in a subject comprise shifting fluids directly and non-invasively from an interstitial compartment of the subject to skin of the subject through controlled local sweating. Methods of the invention allow for removal of excess fluid from the interstitial compartment of the subject and treat fluid overload in the subject. Sweat stimulation systems comprise a chamber and first and second relative humidity sensors. The chamber is sized to fit around a body part of a subject, comprises an inlet and an outlet, and is configured such that air flows through the chamber from the inlet to the outlet. The first relative humidity sensor is operably located inside the inlet, and the second relative humidity sensor is operably located proximate the outlet.
