PIVOTABLE AND ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT FOR ELECTRICAL DEVICE
A mud ring supports an electrical device with respect to a junction box. The mud ring includes abase member configured to be coupled to the junction box; a cover coupled to the base member for movement between a first position and a second position, the cover including an opening; and an insert positioned in the opening and supported for movement relative to the cover, the insert configured to be coupled to the electrical device.
Junction box interface chassis and pluggable modular devices
Various components and subcomponents of a pluggable modular system for electrical junction boxes are described herein. In various embodiments, a jbox interface chassis is configured to be wired and fastened within an electrical junction box to provide a hot-swappable pluggable interface between the wires in the electrical junction box and each of a plurality of hot-swappable pluggable modular devices. The jbox interface chassis may include a front pluggable interface configured to electrically mate with a corresponding rear pluggable interface on a casing of each pluggable modular device. As an example, the jbox interface chassis may include a plurality of slots or holes to receive a corresponding plurality of blades or pins on the casing of each pluggable modular device. Additionally, device adapters are described herein to convert a wide variety of legacy electrical devices into pluggable modular devices.
Multi-axis adjustable rough-in box
A multi-axis adjustable rough-in box for flushing electrical plugs and fixtures with walls includes a mounting bracket with a plurality of attachment apertures to receive hardware to attach to a wall stud. The bracket inner edge has a set of three screw notches. An adjustment frame is coupled to the mounting bracket. A set of three adjustment screws is coupled to the mounting bracket and extends through the adjustment frame. Each adjustment screw has a gear. A plurality of clips is coupled to the adjustment frame. A rough-in box has a box inner side with a plurality of adjustment apertures selectively engageable with the plurality of clips. The box inner side has a plurality of channels in operational communication with the gear of each of the three adjustment screws such that rotation of the adjustment screws causes movement of the rough-in box relative to the adjustment frame.
Electrical receptacle box construction
An electrical receptacle box apparatus, in combination with a wall structure that includes an upright wall stud. The electrical receptacle box apparatus is constructed and arranged for securing to the upright wall stud. The wall structure forms a barrier that defines and demarcates adjacent rooms. The electrical receptacle box apparatus includes an electrical receptacle box having oppositely facing first and second component securing surfaces and a mounting surface, fasteners for securing the electrical receptacle box to the wall stud by securing the mounting surface of the electrical receptacle box to a side surface of the wall stud, a first electrical component positioned within the electrical receptacle box at the first component securing surface of the electrical receptacle box, and a second electrical component positioned within the electrical receptacle box at the second component securing surface of the electrical receptacle box.
Adaptable toggle boxes
An adaptable toggle electrical work boxes with removable locators are provided as electrical old work boxes which can be used as “stud no stud” boxes, with one or more built-in fastener assemblies for attachment to a stud or a pair of external pivoting toggle fasteners which can attach the box to a wall board even if the location is not adjacent to an interior wall stud. The round electrical work box with flanges for holding the box against a wall board, but also where the flanges are a plurality of arcuate flanges separated from each other, providing hand gripping spaces for gripping the electrical box for rotating it so that removable burs or pointed members can etch into the wall board along the circumference of the open edge of the round electrical work box.
Flush wallplate electrical box assembly
The Flush Wallplate Electrical Box Assembly deploys and constrains an electrical wallplate such that the wallplate finished face is essentially co-planar to the surrounding wall assembly finish material finished surface. The assembly is comprised of flush wallplate electrical box possessing an integral housing intended to receive the electrical wallplate, an interface flange serving to interface between the electrical box and wall assembly finish materials, an interface placement guide to control the positioning of the interface flange and an element to protect wiring inside the electrical box during wall assembly construction. The form of the electrical box provides for a building and electrical code compliant installation and simplifies box positioning providing minimum variability. The interface flange provides for a consistent termination of wall assembly materials at the periphery of the electrical box.
Mounting Bracket with Bendable Tabs for Electrical Boxes
A mounting bracket for electrical boxes that can include a mounting body with a central opening, a front face, a first and second set of keyhole features, a first bendable tab located adjacent a first side of the central opening, and a second bendable tab located adjacent a second side of the central opening. The first bendable tab can be bendable rearward away from the front face of the mounting body to engage an exterior surface of a side wall of the first electrical box and thereby secure the first fasteners within the first set of keyhole features. The second bendable tab can be bendable rearward away from the front face of the mounting body to engage an interior surface of a side wall of the second electrical box and thereby secure the second fasteners within the second set of keyhole features.
Mounting guide for placement of a gang box
A mounting rail and gang box member installation system for placing a gang box on a wall structure in a desired horizontal and/or vertical location to accommodate for construction anomalies. The mounting rail and gang box member system includes an elongate mounting rail assembly and any one of an extendable box assembly, slidable bracket assembly or a rail channel structure that in combination with a gang box member and/or mud ring member provide for flexibility in locating and mounting wiring receptacles and wiring devices on a wall structure. Finally, the installation system includes wire or cable fastening configurations that are used in combination with cable ties or zip-ties to secure wires of cables without having to use staples.
Wire protector system and method
Disclosed is a wire protector for use in a wire protection system. The wire protector includes a first tubular member and a second member fittable within the first tubular member. The second member includes flexible or bendable fingers which expand after being passed through the first tubular member to lock the second member with respect to the first tubular member. A plurality of wire protectors are placed into studs during construction of a building. Electrical wires are passed through the plurality of wire protectors.
Expanded two-gang electrical box
A wall-mounted enclosure having a standard forward-facing opening but also having an expanded enclosure behind the opening. The opening allows the use of conventional prior art components (such as cover plates). The expanded enclosure allows a more generous bend radius for the creation of a service loop in a fiber optic cable or similar component.
