System for health monitoring on prosthetic and fixation devices
A monitoring apparatus for a human body includes a node network with at least one motion sensor and at least one acoustic sensor. A processor is coupled to the node network, and receives motion information and acoustic information from the node network. The processor determines from the motion information and the acoustic information a source of acoustic emissions within the human body by analyzing the acoustic information in the time domain to identify an event envelope representing an acoustic event, determining a feature vector related to the event envelope, calculating a distance between the feature vector and each of a set of predetermined event silhouettes, and identifying one of the predetermined event silhouettes for which the distance is a minimum.
Apparatus wearable by a subject for assisting forward reclining movements of the torso
An assistance apparatus wearable by a subject for an assistance in forward reclining movements of the torso includes an upper structure for the engagement of the subject's torso and a lower structure for the engagement of the subject's legs, pivotally connected to each other around an axis, at least one elastic device operatively interposed between the upper structure and the lower structure and at least one electric motor operatively arranged in series with the elastic device, between the upper structure and the lower structure, and actionable for dynamically controlling the extent of deformation of the elastic device.
Catheter for monitoring pressure for muscle compartment syndrome
A multi-lumen catheter for monitoring intramuscular pressure having an elongated body configured and dimensioned for insertion into a compartment of a patient. The catheter has a pressure sensor to determine if excessive pressure is being applied. A sensor is in communication with the lumen to continuously measure pressure to provide continuous readings of intramuscular pressure.
Cervical collar
A cervical collar that facilitates therapeutic hypothermia is provided and includes a cooling device having a front portion and a back portion fixedly coupled to the front portion on one side and removably coupled to the front portion on an opposite side. A fastening device removably couples the back portion to the front portion on the opposite side. The cooling device induces hypothermia in at least a portion of a patient. A sensor is provided that measures a physical characteristic of the patient.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MEASURING ANATOMICAL MOVEMENT OF A JOINT
A method for measuring dynamic movement of a joint, the method comprising the steps of: measuring relative rotation of the joint using pair of Inertia measurement units, each attached to the skin on either side of said joint; capturing a plurality ultrasound images of a bone proximate to a first of said IMU's; identifying markers on said bone; tracking displacement of the markers; correlating said displacement with the relative rotation of the joint, and so; measuring the dynamic movement of the joint.
EXOSKELETON DEVICE
An exoskeleton device is provided herein that includes a control unit including a controller. At least one embedded sensor is configured to acquire data. An actuator is in electrical communication with the at least one embedded sensor and the controller. The controller is configured to adjust a level of assistance or resistance provided by the actuator in response to a change in a performance metric as measured by the acquired data.
Devices, systems and methods for using and monitoring medical devices
Medical devices are provided, comprising a medical device and a sensor.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICES AND SYSTEMS INTEGRATED WITH SENSORS AND CONTROLLING DEVICES
An orthopedic support and/or treatment system including a brace, sleeve, and/or insert, comprising a power subsystem; a sensor subsystem; an adjustment mechanism; a software subsystem; a communication subsystem; and a telemedicine subsystem. The orthopedic treatment system includes and communicates over a network to a remote controlling device. The remote control device can be a computer, a mobile device, or any other controller. The sensor subsystem communicates to the remote control device, which in turn can be used to control the adjustment mechanism to adjust a tension or compression of the brace or sleeve.
CONTROL SYSTEM FOR A REHABILITATION AND EXERCISE ELECTROMECHANICAL DEVICE
An electromechanical device for rehabilitation includes a motor and a control system including one or more processing devices operatively coupled to the motor. The one or more processing devices are configured to, responsive to a first trigger condition occurring, control the motor to operate in a passive mode, responsive to a second trigger condition occurring, control the motor to operate in an active-assisted mode, and responsive to a third trigger condition occurring, control the motor, by providing resistance, to operate in a resistive mode.
INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF
A method of operating an information processing apparatus may include collecting gait information of a walking assistance apparatus; determining a gait feature of a user of the walking assistance apparatus based on the collected gait information; and controlling the walking assistance apparatus by determining a gait group of the user based on the determined gait feature.
