An electromagnetic brake for an electric motor includes a brake core having a coil bobbin holder in which a coil bobbin is housed and a connector insertion hole into which a connector is inserted. The coil bobbin includes plural terminal casings in each of which a terminal is set. The terminal has a first contact, which creates a connection with a winding engaged in catches of the terminal casing with the terminal inserted in the terminal casing, and a second contact which contacts an electrode of the connector inserted in the connector insertion hole with the terminal set in place in the terminal casing.

Electric Motor

An example electric motor includes a housing, a stator fixed relative to the housing, a rotor, a brake assembly, a first bearing, and a second bearing. The rotor has a hub portion, a cylindrical portion, and a disk portion. The hub portion of the rotor has a first end, a second end, and a through hole therethrough. The brake assembly is fixed relative to the housing and configured to selectively couple the disk portion of the rotor to the housing. The first bearing is mounted between the first end of the hub portion of the rotor and the disk portion of the rotor. The second bearing is mounted between the second end of the hub portion of the rotor and the disk portion of the rotor.

ROTATOR

A rotator includes: a motor; and a brake that brakes the motor. The brake includes: a rotating plate that rotates with rotation of a shaft; a slide plate provided such that the slide plate can be slid in an axial direction of an axis of rotation of the motor in such a way as to approach and move away from the rotating plate; a spring that biases the slide plate toward the rotating plate; and an electromagnet capable of attracting the slide plate in a direction away from the rotating plate. The electromagnet includes: a yoke including an inner cylinder and an outer cylinder; and a brake coil. The yoke is disposed between the slide plate and a rotor in the axial direction. The brake coil is disposed adjacent to the rotor. When the brake coil is energized, the slide plate approaches both the inner cylinder and the outer cylinder.

OUTER ROTOR MOTOR WITH INTEGRATED BRAKE

An electric motor assembly includes an outer rotor motor, a sensor, and a brake assembly. The outer rotor motor includes a stator and a rotor. The rotor at least partly circumscribes the stator and is rotatable relative to the stator about an axis. The rotor includes a rotor core extending radially outwardly to present axially opposite first and second sides, and a plurality of magnets supported relative to the rotor core. The sensor is operable to sense a condition associated with the electric motor assembly. The brake assembly is operably coupled to the rotor core to selectively reduce the rotational speed of the rotor. The brake assembly is positioned at least partly axially outward from the first side of the rotor core, and the sensor is positioned at least partly axially outward from the second side of the rotor core.

BRAKE ASSEMBLY FOR AN ELECTRIC MOTOR

A brake assembly for an electric motor includes: a magnetic body, a winding, a bolt, a housing part with a brake surface, an armature disk, a brake pad plate, a shaft, a spring part, and a first bushing. The housing part is connected to the magnetic body by the bolt, with a positive fit in at least the circumferential direction. The first bushing is accommodated in a second bushing. The spring part supported on the housing part presses the first bushing and/or the second bushing toward the magnetic body. The radial clearance range covered by the armature disk includes the radial clearance range covered by the second bushing, and the axial region covered by the armature disk includes the axial region covered by the second bushing.

Motor brake system

A motor includes a housing containing a rotor and stator. A brake assembly is adapted to restrain rotation of the rotor. A brake controller includes a brake diagnostics system. At least one vibration sensor is located in the housing and provides vibration data to the brake diagnostics system in response to a brake operation cycle of the brake assembly. The vibration data is used by the brake diagnostics system to assess an operative condition of the brake assembly.
