Medical device equipped with sensors
A medical device including an electric measurement circuit, in which are connected at least two sensors the impedance of which varies as a function of a sensed physical parameter, a source of electrical power for powering the electric measurement circuit, an antenna for emitting an electromagnetic field as a function of the impedance of the electric measurement circuit, each of the sensors being associated with a switch for short circuiting the sensor in the measurement circuit, the medical device further including a system for controlling the switches in order successively to command the opening or closing of the switches in determined configurations. The medical device may notably be able to be applied to the human body or implanted in the human body.
SELF-AWARE COMPOSITE MECHANICAL METAMATERIALS AND METHOD FOR MAKING SAME
A self-aware composite mechanical metamaterial, comprising first and second electrically conductive components disposed relative to each other to act as opposite electrodes to induce contact electrification; wherein the first and second electrically conductive components, along with a dielectric component serving as a skeleton of the self-aware composite mechanical metamaterial, form a lattice of snapping curved semicircular-shaped segments, wherein each of the snapping curved semicircular-shaped segments has an elastic snap-through instability mechanism; and wherein the lattice comprises periodic repeatable parallel rows of the snapping curved semicircular-shaped segments.
Pre and post stent planning along with vessel visualization and diagnostic systems, devices, and methods for automatically identifying stent expansion profile
In part, the disclosure relates to computer-based methods, devices, and systems suitable for pre-stent planning, stent planning and post-stent planning using one or more computing devices. In one embodiment, a method generates one or more stent profiles, such as a target stent profile, that are user configurable during a pre-stent planning stage by selecting one or more frames. The method performs a comparative analysis of the previously set target stent profile relative to a vessel lumen region post stent deployment. The method and related user interfaces can alert a user to move, remove, reposition, or inflate a stent. The location of jailed side branches can also be identified and displayed based upon the comparative analysis. Parameters that change based on the outcome of the stent deployment can be displayed in terms of the predicted parameter value and the value that is measured or determined after stent deployment.
Implantable sensors for vascular monitoring
An implantable sensor for implantation in a vessel, comprising a plurality of electrodes for placement on, in or adjacent a vessel wall, means for providing a drive signal to the electrodes, means for measuring at least one of impedance and capacitance between at least two of the plurality of electrodes, and means for wirelessly communicating data from the sensor and a blood vessel monitoring system comprising same.
Devices, systems and methods for using and monitoring medical devices
Medical devices are provided, comprising a medical device and a sensor.
PREVENTING STENT FAILURE USING ADAPTIVE SHEAR RESPONSIVE ENDOVASCULAR IMPLANT
A stent apparatus, system, and method that senses wall shear stress by measuring fluid flow at localized areas within the stent, that processes measured information through an integrated circuit, and selectively sends power to mechanically controllable stent surfaces which results in localized geometric changes. In various embodiments the stent apparatus, system, and method sends data to outside the body in real time.
Systems and methods for endovascular device detection and apposition measurement
Devices, systems, and methods for stent detection and apposition are disclosed. Embodiments obtain a plurality of images of intravascular image data of a vessel wall and an endovascular device, generate a signal that represents the plurality of images, identify one or more images that correspond to the endovascular device based on the signal that represents the plurality of images, generate a representation of a three-dimensional (3D) shape of the endovascular device based on the one or more images, determine an apposition value of the endovascular device relative to the vessel wall using a representation of a 3D shape of a lumen segment that corresponds to the endovascular device, the apposition value based on a volume difference between the 3D shape of the lumen segment and the 3D shape of the endovascular device, and present information indicating the apposition value.
Implantable device with bridge
This invention relates to an implantable device for a physiologic sensor, comprising an implantable expandable anchor, a bridge on which the sensor is secured, as well as an optional adapting ring. The invention also relates to a method of monitoring bodily functions using the anchor and sensor. The anchor is compressed and the bridge assumes an elongated shape during delivery to a target lumen. Upon deployment at the target site, the anchor expands and the bridge bows into the interior lumen of the expanded anchor, distancing the sensor from the vessel wall. This invention also relates to a method of manufacturing said device and a method of implanting a sensor.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING FLOW THROUGH A LUMEN
A prosthesis for monitoring a characteristic of flow includes a first tubular prosthesis having a lumen and a sensor for detecting the characteristic of flow through the lumen. The sensor may be covered with another tubular prosthesis or by a layer of material ire order to insulate the sensor from the fluid flow. A pocket may be formed between the tubular prosthesis and the adjacent layer of material or prosthesis and the sensor may be disposed in the pocket.
MAGNETIC STENT AND STENT DELIVERY
A stent apparatus for use in surgical applications having a hollow tubular section with a proximal end and a distal end. Additionally, the stent apparatus can have at least one anchor point connected to the hollow tubular section. The hollow tubular section may also have a modifiable member, and a magnetic connection node. The stent may also be wrapped in a material that has magnetic properties. The delivery of the stent can include a stent delivery tool for inserting a stent into a vessel.
