Controlling Dispatch of Radio Coverage Drones
A method for dispatching radio coverage drones to a geographical area of a failing node in a radio network, wherein the radio coverages drones are configured to re-establish operability of the failing node is disclosed. The method comprises steps being performed by a network node of generating (102) a radio coverage map, wherein the generated radio coverage map covers the geographical area of the failing node and geographical areas of adjacent nodes, identifies at least one mobile communication device having radio coverage from at least one of the adjacent nodes, and defines a size of the geographical area of the failing node, dynamically calibrating (103) the defined size of the geographical area of the failing node of the dynamically generated radio coverage map by: calculating (103a) a first distance between the identified mobile communication device and a selected one of the adjacent nodes, wherein the identified mobile communication device has coverage from the selected adjacent node while being geographically closer to the failing node than to the selected adjacent node, deducing (103b) a second distance between the failing node and the selected adjacent node, determining (103d) the actual size of the geographical area of the failing node based on the second and the first distance, and determining (104) a number of radio coverage drones to be dispatched to the geographical area of the failing node, wherein the number of radio coverage drones is based on to the actual size of the geographical area of the failing node. Asynchronous synchronization with a mobile communication network
A control method implemented by a communication device. The control method includes: acquiring a current location and current capacities of a drone; selecting a destination point that can be reached by the drone according to the location and capacities thereof, the destination point being located in the coverage area of a point of access to a mobile communication network; and providing the drone with instructions specifying the destination point towards which the drone is to travel and communication operations to be carried out in connection with the mobile communication network. Once the instructions are obtained, the drone moves towards the destination point and performs the communication operation as soon as it reaches the destination point or as soon as the connection quality reaches a satisfying level.
Communication method and system that uses low latency/low data bandwidth and high latency/high data bandwidth pathways
A communication system uses multiple communications links, preferably links that use different communications media. The multiple communications links may include a high latency/high bandwidth link using a fiber-optic cable configured to carry large volumes of data but having a high latency. The communications links may also include a low latency/low bandwidth link implemented using skywave propagation of radio waves and configured to carry smaller volumes of data with a lower latency across a substantial portion of the earth's surface. The two communications links may be used together to coordinate various activities such as the buying and selling of financial instruments.
Adaptive carrier switching
A communication apparatus, terminal apparatus, system and method are provided for performing wireless communication. The communication apparatus supports a plurality of component carriers, wherein one of the plurality of component carriers is designated as a current primary component and at least one of the plurality of component carriers is designated as a current secondary component carrier providing at least downlink communication. The communication apparatus comprises control circuitry for controlling a component carrier testing procedure for one or more component carriers. The testing procedure comprises, for each component carrier: establishing an uplink connection from the terminal apparatus to the communication apparatus using the component carrier; and determining a quality of the uplink connection for the component carrier. The control circuitry is responsive to completion of the testing procedure to designate an updated primary component carrier on the basis of the qualities of the uplink connections determined for the component carriers.
INTERFERING IN TIME-DIVISION DUPLEX COMMUNICATION
A computer readable storage medium is presented, having computer readable program instructions thereon for causing a processor to carry out the steps of: sub-dividing a time slot into consecutive time intervals, the time slot belongs to multiple time slots allocated to a first node for transmitting to a second node using a wireless time-division duplex communication link between the first node and the second node, the second node transmitting during separate time slots allocated to said second node; and disrupting communication between said first node and said second node by transmitting, using a transmitter, respective interference signals during at least some of said time intervals, each of said interference signals being transmitted on one of said frequency bands, wherein for at least two of said time intervals said interference signals are transmitted on different frequency band.

The plurality of battery packs include a plurality of left-hand side battery packs and a plurality of right-hand side battery packs, and the management unit is configured to manage the plurality of battery packs to cause at least one of the plurality of battery packs in each of the plurality of left-hand side battery packs and the plurality of right-hand side battery packs to be discharged at a time in order.

LOCATION ACQUISITION DELAY MANAGEMENT
A UE may include IoT NTN device, and the UE may acquire the GNSS location to perform the time/frequency pre-compensation. A NAS layer of the UE may initiate a connection request procedure based on the GNSS fix procedure at one or more lower layer of the UE. A network may transmit a paging request to the UE, and manage a paging response timer based on the GNSS fix procedure at the UE.
Signal interference mitigation for UAVs
A communication uplink between a UAV and a base station is established using frequency division duplex (FDD) communication and a communication downlink between the UAV and the base station using time division duplex (TDD) communication. A determination of whether the UAV is located above an antenna height threshold is then made. When the UAV is located above the antenna height threshold, the communication uplink is transitioned from using the FDD communication to using the TDD communication while the use of the TDD communication is continued for the communication downlink. When the UAV is located at or below the antenna height threshold, the use of the FDD communication is continued for the communication uplink and the TDD communication for the communication downlink.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR DEPLOYING AND SHARING AERIAL CELLS IN AN MMTC SYSTEM
A method for deploying and sharing aerial cells in a massive machine type communication (mMTC) network includes forecasting data traffic across a plurality of mMTC network operators for each of a plurality of geographical areas. The method includes generating a forecasted plan based on the forecasted data traffic, and a hovering time of each of a plurality of aerial cells. The method includes deploying and sharing at least one aerial cell from the plurality of aerial cells between the plurality of mMTC network operators to provide coverage to at least one mMTC node in at least one geographical area of the plurality of geographical areas, based on the forecasted plan.
