Telecommunications system utilizing drones
Wireless communication is provided over an extended distance using a line or a series of drones traveling along a transmission path between a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter sends a data signal to a first drone that is within range of the transmitter. The first drone sends the data signal to an adjacent drone in the line of drones which retransmits the data signal to the next drone in line. The data signal is transmitted between drones until it reaches a final drone within range of the receiver. The final drone transmits the data signal to the receiver. As the drones travel along the transmission path, new drones are launched from a location within range of the transmitter to replace drones that land after transmitting a data signal to the receiver.
METHODS, INFRASTRUCTURE EQUIPMENT, AND COMMUNICATIONS DEVICES
A method for operating an infrastructure equipment forming part of a non-terrestrial network, NTN, of a wireless communications network is provided. The method comprises transmitting a plurality of spot beams, each of the spot beams providing a wireless access interface for transmitting signals to and/or receiving signals from communications devices within a coverage region formed by the each of the spot beams, determining, for one or more of the spot beams, that the coverage region formed by the one or more of the spot beams is at least partially located within a geographical region in which NTN services are not permitted, and changing a utilisation state of each of the one or more of the spot beams from a first utilisation state to a second utilisation state.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF CSI REFERENCE RESOURCE DETERMINATION
Systems and methods of reference resource determination are provided. A method performed by a wireless device for determining a reference resource includes: receiving an indication of at least one configurable offset value; receiving one or more configurations of resources for channel measurement and one or more configurations of measurement reporting; and determining a reference resource for a measurement report to be reported in slot n′ using the at least one configurable offset received from the network node. In some embodiments, this includes configurations of Channel State Information Reference Signals (CSI-RS) resources for channel measurement and/or CSI reporting. In this way, CSI reporting with proper CSI reference resource determination is enabled. In some embodiments, this is suitable for Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) scenarios where the RTT can be in the order of 10s to 100s of milliseconds.
REVERSE-LINK INTERFERENCE CANCELING IN HAPS MULTI-FEEDER LINK
It is dynamically suppressed of a downlink interference in a reverse link of a multi-feeder link of a same frequency between an aerial-staying type communication relay apparatus and plural gateway (GW) stations. A relay communication station of the communication relay apparatus estimates plural propagation path responses respectively between plural GW stations and an antenna for feeder link of the communication relay apparatus based on reception results of plural pilot signals received from each of plural GW stations. The relay communication station calculates a weight for suppressing an interference signal that causes an interference by a transmission signal transmitted from a relay communication station to the GW station and received by another GW station, based on the plural propagation path responses, with respect to each of the plural GW stations. The relay communication station adds or subtracts, for the transmission signal to be transmitted to the GW station, a transmission signal to be transmitted to another gateway station that is multiplied by the weight corresponding to the other gateway station, with respect to each of the plural GW stations.
Systems and methods for efficient drone detection
Systems and methods for providing unlicensed drone User Equipment (UE) detection in a cellular communications network are disclosed. In this regard, embodiments of a method of operation of a server for providing unlicensed drone UE detection in a cellular communications network are disclosed. In some embodiments, the method includes receiving, from a network node, a measurement report for a UE and predicting that the UE is an unlicensed drone UE based on the measurement report for the UE. The method further includes taking one or more actions upon predicting that the UE is an unlicensed drone UE. In this manner, an efficient unlicensed drone detection mechanism is provided.

METHOD AND APPARATUS TO DETERMINE LOCATION FOR AN UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE (UAV)
The present subject matter refers methods and systems to determine location for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The method comprises receiving information from a network entity, the information indicating that the plurality of terrestrial UEs form a cluster, determining whether at least one of a plurality of predefined events is triggered. The method comprises determining the location of the UAV by: receiving cluster information related to the cluster, determining circular trajectory of the cluster using the cluster information, receiving a first average data rate of the cluster at each of a plurality of locations along a circumference of the circular trajectory, determining an optimal down-tilt angle and an optimal bearing angle of an antenna panel of the UAV, and determining the location of the UAV based on the optimal down-tilt angle and the optimal bearing angle.
Airborne relays in cooperative-MIMO systems
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) uses a first baseband processor to establish a first communication link with a ground station of a wireless network and a second baseband processor that establishes a second communication link with a user device. The second baseband processor for processing a radio transmission from a user equipment. The second baseband processor is communicatively coupled to the first baseband processor such that the radio transmission is communicated to the ground station via the first communication link. Flight-control hardware steers the UAV along a flight trajectory that is determined by a ground-based UAV controller based at least on the radio transmission, such that the UAV or the ground station can locate or track the user equipment.
Method for ensuring data localization on an ad hoc moving data network
The present disclosure provides methods operable in a balloon network. The method can include determining that a balloon is at a location associated with a legally-defined geographic area. An area profile of the legally-defined geographic area may identify geographically-restricted data that must not be removed from the legally-defined geographic area. The method can also include determining that the balloon contains at least some of the geographically-restricted data. The method can also include determining that the balloon is likely to move out of the legally-defined geographic area. The method can also include removing the geographically-restricted data from the memory of the balloon.
Method and controller for controlling a wireless link
A method, a system and a controller for controlling the Quality of Service, QoS, of a wireless link, providing a service from a transmitting entity to a receiving entity is suggested.
