Methods and systems are provided for managing an Internet of Things object having a single active Radio Access Technology for communication with a data network via a hub of a local network. The method comprises: receiving, by a service provider server connected to the data network, information indicating a loss of connectivity between the Internet of Things object and the data network via the hub; and establishing, by the service provider server, a relay connection between the Internet of Things object and the data network, connectivity between the Internet of Things object and the data network being restored via the relay connection.

PROVIDING HIGH AVAILABILITY IN A SOFTWARE DEFINED NETWORK

In one example, a method for monitoring the state and health of a centralized software defined networking controller includes detecting, by a standby software defined networking controller, when a number of path computation client sessions reported by an active software defined networking controller fails to match an expected number; verifying, by the standby software defined networking controller after expiration of a predefined delay implemented after the detecting, that the number of path computation client sessions reported by the active software defined networking controller still fails to match the expected number; and assuming, by the standby software defined networking controller after the verifying, a role of the active software defined networking controller.

SWITCH CONFIGURATION SYNCHRONIZATION

Examples disclosed herein relate to a method comprising generating a first and a second set of unique identifiers for each row in each table of a first and second database, respectively. The first and second database may be configured to operate a first and second switch operating traffic on a network, respectively. The first switch and the second switch may be configured to operate traffic on the network. The method may also include creating a mapping between the first set of unique identifiers and the second set of unique identifiers and determining that a first row of the first database is marked to be synchronized, the first row corresponding to a first unique row ID. The method may also include retrieving, from a second row of the second database corresponding to a second unique row ID mapped to the first unique row ID and updating the second row.

Disclosed are a method and device for triggering protection switching by signal degrade of a link aggregation port, wherein the method includes: acquiring status information of member ports of a link aggregation port from a status register of the link aggregation port; obtaining a number value X of member ports of the link aggregation port which generate signal degrade light path attenuation according to the acquired status information of the member ports; comparing the obtained number value X with a predetermined threshold value; and when the number value X is greater than the predetermined threshold value, setting statuses of all the member ports of the link aggregation port to be a signal degrade status, and notifying a virtual section layer to report fault and perform a service protection switching to a backup link.

Connection apparatus and connection apparatus management method

A method for managing a connection apparatus and a connection apparatus are disclosed. In an embodiment the connection apparatus includes a first connector configured to be connected to a service processing unit, a second connector configured to be connected to a first switching unit, a third connector configured to be connected to a second switching unit, wherein the third connector is further configured to be disconnected from the second switching unit and connected to the first switching unit. The apparatus further comprises a first transmission medium, a second transmission medium, one end of the first transmission medium being directly connected to the first connector, one end of the second transmission medium being directly connected to the first connector, another end of the first transmission medium being directly connected to the second connector, and another end of the second transmission medium being directly connected to the third connector.

MULTIPATH TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT

One embodiment provides an apparatus. The apparatus includes client traffic management (CTM) logic. The CTM logic is to trigger implementation of a selected network traffic flow related to the client device, the triggering based, at least in part, on a network traffic flow related to the client device. The network traffic flow is associated with a connection and includes at least one subflow. Each subflow is carried by a respective path associated with the connection. The triggering includes at least one of constraining and/or adjusting an allowable throughput at a service provider for one or more of the at least one subflow. The selected traffic policy is to be implemented in a transport layer.

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for monitoring a Maintenance Association (MA) for Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) in a network supporting Equal Cost Multiple Paths (ECMP). A set of ECMP paths is generated for sending data between endpoints in the network. Furthermore, a set of ECMP MAs is created that are used for monitoring the generated ECMP paths between the endpoints. The created set of ECMP MAs is subsequently used for sending monitoring packets. ECMP path MAs therefore conform to existing CFM operation and are compatible with both ECMP point to point path MAs and ECMP multipoint path MAs.
