Tissue anchor and anchoring system
A tissue anchor includes an anchor member formed from a generally flexible material. An activation member, which may be a tensioning member, causes proximal and distal end portions of the anchor member to move toward each other into a shortened configuration suitable for anchoring against the tissue. The tissue anchor can optionally be deployed and activated using a catheter device.
Apparatus and method for attaching soft tissue to bone
Apparatuses for attaching tissue to bone are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the apparatus includes an expandable body defining a bore, an expander pin having a shaft sized to be received in the bore of the expandable body, and an insertion shaft slidingly disposed in the bore of the expandable body and in a bore of the expander pin. The body is configured to expand laterally into and attach to bone when the expander pin is driven into the expandable body. The body includes a proximal main member having a distally extending threaded projection and a harder, distal tip member having a threaded recess in a proximal surface thereof such that the projection is threadedly interengageable with the recess. The expansion of the body by way of the pin can occur when the proximal main member and distal tip member are threadedly engaged. The insertion shaft is releasably secured to the expandable body and extends distally beyond the expandable body.
Adjustable graft fixation device
Systems and methods for securing a soft tissue graft to bone are provided herein. In one embodiment, a surgical implant can include an elongate body having a longitudinal axis extending therealong and having first and second through-holes that are offset to a first side of the longitudinal axis and a third through-hole that is offset to a second side of the longitudinal axis and that is positioned between the first and second through-holes. The implant can also include a suture length extending through the first, second, and third through-holes such that a self-locking knot is formed on a first side of the body and a plurality of suture loops are formed on a second side of the body opposite the first side.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR TISSUE GRAFT FIXATION
Methods and devices for tissue graft fixation include fixation devices attached to an adjustable fixation loop of suture without compromising the graft or requiring additional material to complete the repair. Other fixation devices are attachable to an independent adjustable suture system. Adjustable fixation loops minimize slip/creep of the suture within the loop.
Compression screw system
A compression screw comprising a threaded shaft and a head associated with the proximal end of the shaft. The head has a plurality of outwardly extending projections spaced from one another so as to define a plurality of recesses there between for receiving a screw drive in such a way that rotational force may be transferred from the screw drive to the screw. The projections of the head may be provided with suture fixation holes or a suture coupling may be positioned over the shaft so as to extend between the projections of the head.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING SOFT TISSUE TEARS
A system and method for repairing soft tissue tears such as meniscal tears. The anchor system has a first implant connected to a length of suture. The length of suture is folded such that a tensioning limb extends from the first implant and a locking limb extends from the first implant. The anchor system also includes a second implant fixed to the locking limb and an adjustment mechanism in the length of suture between the first implant and the second implant. The tensioning limb is passed through the adjustment mechanism. This creates an adjustment loop in the length of suture extending from the adjustment mechanism through the first implant. The adjustment loop is a one-way adjustable loop for moving the first implant and second implant in relative position to each other.
SINGLE STRAND SELF-LOCKING SUSPENSION DEVICE FOR MEDICAL USE
An implantable suspension device (1) for fixing an elongated flexible implant (G) or tissue (B) in a desired position, comprising a suspension plate (100) and a single suture element (200) engaging with the suspension plate (100) such that the suture element (200) forms an adjustable suspension loop (300) for connecting said implant (G) or tissue (B) to the suspension plate (100), wherein the single suture element (200) comprises a free first end section (201) and a second end section (202), and wherein the single suture element (200) comprises a stopper (20) arranged on the second end section (202), and wherein the suture element (200) forms a locking loop (40) for pressing the first end section (201) against the suspension plate (100) and thereby locking the first end section (201) of the suture element (200) with respect to the suspension plate (100).
Vascular hole closure delivery device
A surgical delivery instrument for delivering a vascular hole closure device having a hole covering member. The delivery instrument comprises a housing, a plunger and an advancer movable within the housing, the advancer having a first portion and a distal portion hingedly connected to the first portion and forming a casing for supporting the hole covering member. Distal movement of the advancer pivots the casing from an angled position to a more linear position to change the orientation of the covering member from a transverse position to a more aligned position. The plunger is advanceable to advance the covering member into the vessel.
SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR SECURING TISSUE USING SNARE ASSEMBLIES AND SOFT ANCHORS
Systems, devices, and methods are provided for securing soft tissue to bone. One exemplary embodiment of a surgical soft tissue repair device includes a snare assembly coupled to a soft anchor in which the soft anchor has a first, unstressed configuration that can be used to insert the anchor into bone and a second, anchoring configuration that can be used to fixate the anchor in the bone. The snare assembly can be configured to actuate the anchor from the first configuration to the second configuration, and it can also be used to engage and approximate tissue by drawing the tissue closer to the anchor fixated in the bone. The snare assembly can be used in conjunction with a number of different anchor configurations, and other exemplary systems, devices, and methods for use with soft tissue repair are also provided.
ONE-WAY ADJUSTABLE LOOP SUTURE CONSTRUCTS AND METHODS OF FORMING AND USING THE SAME
Disclosed are surgical constructs and methods of use for a one-way adjustable fixation loop that is formed by tying two knots in a surgical filament, each knot defining an individual adjustable loop and the individual adjustable loops being interconnected to form the one-way adjustable fixation loop. The knots enable a non-spliceable suture to be used in the creation of the one-way adjustable fixable loop. Embodiments can include a fixation device, such as a cortical button or plate for use in a bone tunnel, and enable the knots to work independent of and suspended below the fixation device. Embodiments can increase the compatibility of the adjustable fixation loop with existing fixation devices and can isolate and protect the knots from damage during use and after implantation.
