A system and method for presenting substantially simultaneous voice and text to an assisted user (AU) during a voice conversation between the AU and a hearing user (HU), the hearing user using an HU device to talk to the assisted user, the system comprising an AU captioned device including a device processor, a relay that includes a relay display, a relay speaker and a relay processor, wherein, at least one of the device processor and the relay processor is programmed to perform the steps of receiving an HU voice signal comprising a sequence of HU voice segments and assigning time stamps to each of the HU voice segments, wherein, the relay processor is programmed to perform the steps of generating text segments corresponding to each HU voice segment, storing each HU voice segment along with a corresponding text segment and a corresponding time stamp in a memory device, broadcasting the HU voice segments to a call assistant (CA) via the relay speaker and presenting each text segment via the relay display substantially contemporaneously with broadcast of the corresponding HU voice segment.

Voice message exchange

Disclosed is a voice message exchange system and method for improving communication between an inmate and a third party by enabling the inmate to leave a message when a call is not answered and further allowing the third party who receives the message to reply with a message to the inmate. Additionally, outside parties that meet the institution's requirements can leave messages for inmates at any time. The present invention can be used as an add-on to legacy inmate call management systems or incorporated internally into an inmate call management system. The system also provides monitoring, controlling, recording, and billing means.

VOICE-CONTROLLED AUDIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
20180007210 · 2018-01-04 ·

Systems and methods for providing an audio communication system include receiving from a first user, by a microphone of a first voice-controlled device of a plurality of voice-controlled devices in an audio communication system, a first audio message and an audio command to provide the audio message to a second user. An identity of the second user associated with a user profile based on the audio command is determined. The first audio message is provided to a second voice-controlled device of the plurality of voice-controlled devices to output the audio message at a speaker of the voice-controlled device to the second user that is proximity to the second voice-controlled device.

VOICEMAIL HANDLING

An apparatus comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, perform a method comprising receiving a voicemail message and generating a prompt for a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model. The prompt comprises a request for a classification into one of a plurality of classes and audio signal features of the voicemail message. The method also comprises determining whether to delay passing the prompt to the generative AI model, and in response to determining to delay, delaying passing the prompt to the generative AI model. The prompt is passed to the generative AI model and a classification from the generative AI model is received. An action is triggered on the voicemail message according to the received classification. In various examples the action facilitates security and/or scalability of a voicemail service.

A head mounted display (HMD) worn on a head of a first person provides an electronic call between the first person and a second person. The HMD includes or more sensors that determine one of a size or a shape of a physical environment where the first person is located. A display displays a virtual image of the second person during the electronic call, and one or more processors adjust a voice of the second person played to the first person to compensation for sound reverberation. The HMD include speakers that play the voice of the second person in binaural sound compensated for the sound reverberation.

SEMIAUTOMATED RELAY METHOD AND APPARATUS

A call captioning system for captioning a hearing user's (HU's) voice signal during an ongoing call with an assisted user (AU) includes: an AU communication device with a display screen and a caption service activation feature, and a first processor programmed to, during an ongoing call, receive the HU's voice signal. Prior to activating the caption service via the activation feature, the processor uses an automated speech recognition (ASR) engine to generate HU voice signal captions, detect errors in the HU voice signal captions, use the errors to train the ASR software to the HU's voice signal to increase accuracy of the HU captions generated by the ASR engine; and store the trained ASR engine for subsequent use. Upon activating the caption service during the ongoing call, the processor uses the trained ASR engine to generate HU voice signal captions and present them to the AU via the display screen.

Systems, methods, and computer program products for transmitting data between devices are disclosed. A device may utilize a standardized communication system (SCS) to transmit data directly between devices including an SCS. The SCS may discover available devices. The SCS may determine available transmission paths between a first device and a second device. The SCS may select a transmission path between the first device and the second device, and the SCS may transmit data from the first device to the second device using a standardized communication protocol (SCP). The first device may transmit a message to the second device. The first device may edit the message after the transmitting. The second device may delete the original message. The second device may store the edited message.

A computer-implemented system and method for delivering group messages is provided. Users that are signed-on to and signed-off from one or more discussion groups are tracked. A voice message is received from one of the users signed-on to one of the discussion groups. A list of users associated with the discussion group is obtained and a sublist of signed-on users including those users from the list that are signed-on to the discussion group is built. The voice message is provided to the signed-on users of the discussion group and a copy of the voice message is stored for later access by the users in the discussion group that are signed-off.
