An output method and an output device are provided. The output method includes the following steps. A first electronic device sends a file to a server and generates a piece of verification information corresponding to the file. A second electronic device receives the piece of verification information and displays the piece of verification information on screen. An output device reads the piece of verification information displayed by the second electronic device, and obtains the file from the server according to the piece of verification information so as to output a paper document of the file.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a processor, a network interface and a display device. The network interface under processor control acquires identification information of a different image forming apparatus on which a user is determined to have use authority based on user identification information of the user. The network interface under processor control also acquires an image forming job registered with the different image forming apparatus based on the acquired identification information of the different image forming apparatus. The display device under processor control displays the image forming job acquired by the network interface.

An information processing system includes one or more information processing apparatuses to individually store a print job executable with an image forming apparatus, and a management apparatus. Each information processing apparatus includes a first memory to store the print job and first circuitry to transmit, through a network, user identification information identifying one or more users who are allowed to execute the print job. The management apparatus includes a second memory to store association information associating for each print job the user identification information transmitted from the first circuitry and apparatus identification information identifying one of the one or more information processing apparatus storing the print job, and second circuitry to refer the association information and specify apparatus identification information of at least one of the one or more information processing apparatuses, and to transmit a list of information processing apparatuses through the network.

An information processing apparatus includes a receiver configured to receive a print job from a client device; a preview image generator configured to generate a preview image of a print data item included in the print job; and a transmitter configured to transmit the generated preview image to an image forming apparatus. The preview image generator limits the generation of the preview image of the print data item based on a page condition when a first print language is used in the print data item, and the preview image generator limits the generation of the preview image of the print data item based on a time condition when a second print language is used in the print data item.

An output system includes a terminal apparatus to receive an accumulation instruction from a user, an accumulation apparatus to accumulate first output job information, an output apparatus to acquire data from an accumulation destination specified in the first output job information, and an authentication apparatus to authenticate the user. The output apparatus includes a holder to hold authentication history information of the user with identification information of the user and terminal apparatus, an authentication controller to request, upon detecting failure in the accumulation apparatus or authentication apparatus, the terminal apparatus identified by the identification information utilizing the identification information of the user and terminal apparatus to perform authentication based on the identification information of the user, and an output controller to acquire second output job information from the terminal apparatus succeeded in authentication, acquire data specified in the second output job information from the terminal apparatus, and output the data.

An image processing apparatus includes a display unit that displays a preview image of a document on a preview screen during login of a first user, a communication controller that receives a job from an external device, a determination unit that determines whether the job received from the external device is a specific type of job, and a display controller that controls display on the preview screen. When the specific type of job is received during display of the preview screen, the display controller assumes a predetermined degree or more of possibility that a second user different from the first user may approach the apparatus, and performs at least one of first display control where the preview image is automatically hidden on the preview screen and second display control where a non-display button for hiding the preview image according to a user operation is displayed on the preview screen.

A data processing apparatus includes a processing unit configured to perform a process on print data or setting data of the print data by a processing method targeting print data of a specific description format; a receiving unit configured to receive print data and setting data of the print data of a description format selected by a user; a determination data obtaining unit configured to obtain determination data that indicates whether a printer driver used for inputting the received print data and the setting data is a target printer driver for the process performed by the processing unit; and a process control unit configured to determine whether to perform the process by the processing unit on the received print data or the setting data based on the obtained determination data, and control the processing by the processing unit.

According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes a processor, a network interface and a display device.
